has a FP+ strategy been determined yet?

I look forward to sitting on my balcony watching the giraffes at Kidani and changing my fastpass+ reservations instead of running all over the park. This is a definite positive. This assumes there passes to switch around.

You know, considering that we don't really know how FP+ will work, I don't really understand the negativity.

:confused3

It doesn't matter how FP+ works, I know it is designed for me to drink coffee, sit on the balcony, watch the giraffes, check my itinerary, tinker around with schedule, and then to the park when I am ready. That does sound nice to me.

And I think it is an excellent strategy!

Is it just me, or are things getting way to complicated? :confused3

honestly, I think we have managed to completely complicate it in our minds. I'm amazed at how frenzied we've all become, making assumptions and predictions, when really, we don't have a clue!

I vote we all take a deep breath; completely ignore any new post with the mention of FP+ in the title; and wait patiently for Disney to roll out their Magic!

Ah, but I am learning so much! If it does roll out in September for food and wine, I have been prepped on the MDE tricks and problem solving, I have heard from others about parade watching locations and whether I want to use that. There have been favorable and unfavorable reports about availability, I want to be up on that. Which attractions are booking up first. What about the bonus fastpass trick?

I have a large group going for food and wine, we have collectively spent tens of thousands of dollars! We might as well get this right, I don't want to make mistakes that I can avoid. And next week the biggest test yet will occur! The information will grow exponentially. There are a zillion testers on the disboards.

It is upon us! :)

I've already planned what 3 attractions we'll FP+ each day at each park, the general time frame we need them to make our ADR's, and which attractions we'll have to haul our backsides out of bed for rope drop to ride. We're not going until July of next year and 60 days out is marked on the calendar. LOL

Yeah, I'm an overplanner. But I'm ready!

:thumbsup2. You rock! How many times will change it all around? I do that way too much. It is a big game for me.

This is how I feel too. On one hand, the early adopter in me can get a little excited about the testing, and on the other, I hope nothing goes wrong and significantly screws up the trip. :goodvibes

At least I'll be able to actively test the strategy ideas we've been bouncing around. That is, if I actually get the invitation at 17 days out.

I'm about to start my last year of college in a few weeks (Class of 2014! Woooo!). Between that, the kids school and DD's dance I won't have time to question my decisions until a couple weeks before we leave. At that point I figure it will be too late to change it. But we know what our must do's are, we know what usually has little to no standby wait, and we know what we don't care about doing so that made the choices fairly easy.

We (me & DH) were part of a test group last September and didn't use any of our FP+. It just didn't work out for us. We are rope drop people so I made our times later in the afternoon after lunch and before our dinner ADR. It rained when we wanted to go on BTMRR and we had already done the other rides so we just left the park. I think if you were planning on a parade or wishes it would work out better but we weren't interested in doing either on the day of our FP+. We are going again this Sept and are 60 days out and haven't been notified for magic bands or FP+. Does everyone get the magic bands or is that still in the testing stage and how are you notified? I would much rather just pull a FP then have to schedule my ride times after scheduling my ADR's. Seems like you will have an entire scheduled Disney vacation if this goes into effect.

I talked to a CM today, and I asked if I can still use regular FP at least when my husband and I switch to BC, since he's not part of the test, and she said yes.

I did, as OPs have suggested, schedule my FP+ times for later in the day, and I was able to get TSMM, ST, and Fantasmic for our HS day. :-)

I guess parades and fireworks are not part of our test, but I wish they were!

That is really hard to understand. Disney needs these types of experiences to be very popular for FP+, this is the perfect time to showcase them. People will be more inclined to book them, use them, and give good feedback during a test with regular fastpass still available.

On the other thread regarding the upcoming test groups, people are mentioning that they have gotten parade and firework fp+, but they only seem to show up randomly. You apparently have to keep going back to look and see if it pops up.

Last page on this thread. People have gotten Fantasmic and MSEP, and someone got illuminations, so maybe you just have to keep checking back, or look at different nights?

Thank you! I'm starting to think maybe they were just gone. :sad2:

I never got an email, so I don't know when they opened it up to start picking. I'm sure MSEP and any firework seating would be the first to go.

I'll keep checking though. Thanks.

I noticed your trip is the same time as ours. Right now, I can pick Wishes and a parade for Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th. The prior days had no availability.

Thank you for letting me know. You're right. I just checked, and both were there. It's a shame these ADRs have me locked into my days. I really don't want to give up BOG for special seating.

This is precisely the type of thing I'm sure will frustrate people with the ADR window at 180 and the FP date supposedly at 60.
