What do you guys think....
Is it really worth going to universal just for Harry Potters world?

We went the other day and to be honest I just found it too crowded to be enjoyable, coupled with the fact that my youngest was practically hysterical on the rides. We ended up leaving hubby and two eldest there and going back to the villa. We did this twice so wasted $20 each day on preferred parking.

He is 11 and he just does not like the rides but put him in the Waterparks and he is game for anything.

Discovery Cove however, different ball game all together, we went yesterday and could not fault it, fabulous day and we paid extra for the Sea Venture Walk. Brilliant.

Re Harry Potter, bearing in mind that we are now here in what is supposed to be a quieter time, other rides though dh said were no longer than 15 mins max to queue.

Depends if you are interested in seeing the rest of Islands of Adventure (and Universal Studios) too. Would you go to IOA just for a day? Or spend a few nights at a Universal Resort? Staying on site is excellent value for money with Universal if you are interested in the rest of the resort.

The Wizzarding World of Harry Potter is Amazing, but if you are only going for 1 day, is it worth the cost of 1 day admission for each member of your party just if you want to see that one small themed 'land'? I'd say no, since you really can't spend more than a few hours in such a small part of the park. If you are genuinely interested in the rest of Islands of Adventure as well then the answer is probably yes.

YES YES YES do it. But that is coming from a true Harry Potter fan. We went in March and we were there for opening time. We thought it was fabulous and mananged to get loads of photo's before it was too busy. My husband went straight onto the Harry Potter ride, which is where all the other people must have been as it was already a 45 min wait. Anyway, I waited an hour and a half for him and by the time he came out you could not move, it was packed solid!!!! So I would say yes do it but ONLY if you can get there first thing.:thumbsup2 The rest of IOA was very empty......!!!

Sorry OP for hijacking your thread but I would just like to know what the Sea venture Walk was like. We're going to DC in Nov. and can't decided whether we want to do this or not. Is it quite claustrophobic?

TIA

WWOHP tipped the scale for us when we were deciding whether to go or not! We've been to Orlando lots of times, but we've never been to Universal and I honestly don't think that we would be going this time if it wasn't for this addition. We've booked to stay onsite for one night, so basically get two days in the parks with FOLP and the early entry into WWOHP. Don't know whether it will be worth the money that we've paid for it, I guess that we'll just have to wait and see!

to the OP this is our exact conundrum. DD is at the extreme end of hp fanship this year. DS was exactly the same about 5 years ago before WWOHP opened and although DH and I would like to go and see it we are worried about the time and $$$$ cost for doing something like this. No-one here loves fast rides so it looks to be either
a) go to IOA just to have a look at WWOHP and a wander
B) Pay for a day but two parks ticket and have a look at IOA and US to see if it would be worth us staying at a Universal resort in the future
C) go to IOA followed by shopping but then transport becomes our issue rather than cost.

Will be interested to see what decision you make.
