Harry Potter Rides Report w/pics

I posted stuff on another thread as soon as we got back a few days ago, so maybe you've seen these.

I have mixed feelings on this ride. I personally loved the ride but I can't rave about it because DH was not allowed on it and that completely bummed him out. It was torture for him to go through the queue line the 2nd day with me and on the third day he chose to wait for me in the FJ store.

But, let's begin. Walking up to the ride.

A little perspective. Our kids playing in them.

1st day, we were obedient tourists storing our belongings in a locker that they'll let you have for free. They said it will be free for a few months (6?) before it'll revert to a pay to use locker. There is a free time limit 1-3 hrs? 2nd day I did what everybody did and take pics, then hand the camera off to DH at the child swap room. 3rd day I was by myself and didn't carry anything. Lockers on the right in the pic. Tour begins to the left.

Going through the hot house queue line.

Just inside the castle.

Few steps then

and another couple steps,

finally in front of you. Line curves to the left and around.

The castle is so dark that even low light videography and cameras have difficulty taking pics without flashes.

I tried to get a pic of the animated picture, but with and without flash it was impossible.

Picture gallery room, with and without flash. Dark paintings were the animated ones, paintings you could see were still.

You enter Dumbledore's Office and the line traverses several times in that room. Dumbledore shows up and talks to you on the balcony. He looks 3D, amazingly good but when you take a pic...he's not there.

Inside the Magic has a fantastic video of the queue line I just saw and I'll post the link.

You take such good pictures. I love looking at them and looking at them and... Well you get the idea.

I know now that we have to check out all the queues. They look fabulous.

Can I ask, it looks like the queue was pretty packed whilst you were in it (from the greenhouse photo). Was it quite quick moving though?

Fantastic pics...............thanks for sharing :thumbsup2 Such a shame your DH couldn`t ride it with you.

Hope that greenhouse is not too hot :scared1:

It was a controlled crowd heading from start of the park directly to the FJ. The line keeps moving though. It's a very long, winding line but there's always something to look at and it doesn't stop for long periods of time. The ride itself is continuously moving, you get on a moving platform and quickly get into a seat. The only stops are at the front of the line to either test you if you'll fit or if you're an odd party (1 or 3) they'll pull you to the side until they can get a single rider or 2 people before letting you on. The ride seats 4 side by side.

soooo wish I could see those pics!!

why aren't they available?

I thought it was just my computer that woulodn`t show pics now :confused3

Clicked on thinking there were some more pics?

Anyone know why?

...I thought it was MY 'puter, but I can't see any of those pix either :confused3...DRAT! :badpc:

Sorry everybody, apparently after a few days of opening the Photobucket and posting trip reports, I maxed out on the freebie 10 Gig bandwidth!!!! No, not the storing of the pictures, but the amount of people looking at the pics! :rotfl:

The e-mail wanted me to pay to have "unlimited" access, but I'm broke from my vacation from Disney and Harry Potter.
:rotfl: It says it'll be 30 days before it'll be accessible again.

So, I'll post the link to my account and you can view the pics directly, I hope.

I tend to like to tell visual stories, so I guess I'll post titles to the pics. Hope that helps.

Visually Soarin' is like seeing things from a hang glider although you're actually probably 15-20 ft off the ground, or just 1 story high? You don't notice the actual height of Soarin' tell the ride ends and you're gently being lowered to the ground. If it's that height you're talking about, the hang-gliding height, it's definitely not that high.

Flight of Hippogriff- when you're there you can see that the ride climbs to several stories, I'm guessing 2-4 stories high. Anyone passing by the ride can see it and determine if the height will be comfortable enough to try it.

It's not as "intense" as Disney's Big Thunder, not as high or long. A little more than Barnstormer in Toontown.

Maybe someone has already posted a video of the actual ride of Hippogriff on youtube.com, I would check and see. If not, I'm sure someone's posted one of Disney's Barnstormer or IOA's Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse coaster ride and you can see if you can handle it.

Thank you for the link...great pictures!!:goodvibes

Looks like you all had fun! :yay:
