Harry Potter Queue Pictures

Which queue? From the Forbidden Journey ride? Going into the park?

I can't even imagine being in that line. I'd get so nervous of people cutting me and pushing/shoving, I'd ruin my own day by getting so worked up over everything. My mom and I are booked for a Disney trip Sept. 3rd-9th and decided to do Universal on the 4th with my Uncle and his family who live in West Palm Beach.

I can only hope and pray that some of the excitement dies off by then, because paying to go to Universal for one day and being in lines that are even a fraction of what I just saw in that picture will be horrible!!!!

I will say how jealous I am of those who barred the lines and got on the rides.

Surely that will not be the norm. That was opening day, so not only did everyone want to be there opening day but they wanted the chance to see Dan and Rupert and Jo and everyone else that was there. By Sept/Oct, the crowds should thin because most of the kids will be back in school. The crowds this summer will be insanity though.

I'm hoping anyway...

Holy S**t!! that is one heck of a line and I'm glad I wasn't standing in it in that heat! Heading there on 39 days though...woohoo!!:cool1:

Here's what I had from yesterday:

View from Hard Rock toward IOA.

Line goes over the universal bridge back toward Bubba Gump/Theater. This was probably about the same time as that aerial shot posted above.

hulk_wwohp_go.jpg

Hulk inside the park, the line for wwohp went further back than this.

closedgate_wwohp_go.jpg

Closed the front gate around 8:45 to start pulsing crowds.

linebetweenmarveltoon_wwohp_hp.jpg

Line around 7:15, snaked between Marvel and Toon Lagoon.

toonlagoon_wwohp_go.jpg

Someone we saw in robes in toon lagoon across from Ripsaw Falls. -- I love the cartoon saying behind this photo in context.

riveradventure_wwohp_go.jpg

This is where the line was when we arrived around 6:40-45. This is where the wall of people begins and where they started doing the single file line.

Hard Rock vantage point looking back toward the globe.

The map of the inside queue around the time of the grand opening celebration: I may be a little wrong about how it went around Ripsaw Falls, but I did know they used some of the backstage there. It also could have been through the theater at Toon Lagoon instead. That's the only part I'm unsure of. It still went around Popeye I do know. Outside went all the way to Bubba Gumps (Moving walkways/Move Theater)

They did change the queue around a little bit, and used different entrances later in the day.

Does anyone have a timeline of what happened yesterday with the lines at Grand Opening? I have seen many pictures and reports of the 7hr line but have no idea at what time of day it began and/if it sustained all day.

Was there a massive line to get into the island all day? Did it wrap the entire park all day?

How long were the lines backed up into Citywalk around for?

When were all the helicopter shots taken by the news?

I understand the park closed at 10pm but people were in the park past midnight so there must of been a substantial line all day. I remember when Indy opened at DL and the lines where 7hr+ for at least a month after opening but that line quickly got reduced by the afternoon as people gave up, but still stayed about 3hr+.

Thanks for the info!

We're going in October and I'm thinking the same type of line will be there at that time too. I love Harry Potter (Escape from Azkaban the best), but I can't do that line. I get exhausted thinking about it. DH and I and the kids will see experience this in a couple years and I'm OK with waiting. It's really exciting to see the pictures though. Sweeet! Now all they need to do is get a Twilight ride going on and mabe I will stand in that line...camp out and all.

When we left At 5:30 in the afternoon, the end of the line was near the hulk. We noticed that they weren't winding through Spiderman or the theater next to spiderman.

Now what about the onsite guests, did they also have a massive wait? What time did they start queueing up?

While I'm sure it will be crowded, I can't imagine the line will be anywhere near like it was yesterday or even today in October. Go on a weekday when the local kids are in school and since the US kids are all in school then, it should be manageable. We are going the week after Thanksgiving - the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend which over past years has been empty. I don't expect empty for HP but I expect manageable crowds at least.

I like HP, but NO way would I even consider doing a line like that, no way.

Holy Dumbledore !!!! Thats a huge line.

DH and I were thinking about going to Universal in November .... now we will wait to see what the crowds will be like before we even think about buying tickets.

That is absolutely insane! Spending all that money to stand in line? Seriously? Oh man, I hope that when we go on July 15th and 17th it's not that crazy....we're staying on site, so maybe there's hope. Ha ha . :scared1:

That is exactly why we are waiting til oct 2011 to visit again
I would have no patience for lines like that, let alone my kids~yikes!

We will shortly be staying at The HRH and what i`d like to know is this, is there a seperate park entrance for onsite hotel guests or do they have to join the main queue like everybody else ?

And changing the subject competely, is the World Cup (football/soccer) being shown anywhere on the Universal complex, either in a hotel, City Walk or in the parks ,

Many thanks :)
