Has anyone heard anything about Harry Potter or Narnia attractions at MGM?

Well Harry Potter is not a Disney movie so I havent heard anything about it having anything at Disney. there is a walk through prop at MGM STudios for Narnia and meet and greets with the White Witch along with some merchandise in the parks.

I know Harry Potter was not disney, but there were rumors that disney had bought the rights for its theme parks.

It's not impossible as to the best of my knowledge, especially since Warner sold Six Flags, but who knows?

Jim Hill posted a report on this recently. link

MGM has the Narnia exhibit. We went during December and we though it was interesting. They could have had more movie props there but it kept us interested throughout the program. DS loved going through the wardrobe and now that is all he talks about when the commercials are on TV.

Oh dear, I pray they don't add anything Harry Potter at Disney. It's been overplayed as it is.

I cannot imagine a better property to obtain, if possible, though I suspect the price would be so high as to make it extremely difficult to garner a sufficient ROI without very strongly exploiting those rights. So if they do obtain the theme park rights to Harry Potter, I'd expect to see them drive it to the extreme, unless specifically limited by the contract.

I have heard rumors of a Harry Potter attraction. I think it would be great! Bring on Daniel Radcliffe for the official opening!

What type of Narnia things did they sell?

Nothing for sale in the Narnia exhibit itself. There are some toys for sale in the larger stores such as MouseGear, World Of Disney and Once Upon a Toy. They consist of a few action figures, Peter's sword and shield, the witch's wand. I bought a sweatshirt with Aslan on the front and I saw children's t-shirts with Peter on them. They also have the books.

I like Harry Potter but I'd be more interested in the Lord Of The Rings. It would be cool if there were a "Middle Earth" theme park. :hyper:

Hard to imagine anything more fun than zooming through Hogwarts. :)

No doubt this has been considered, I just hope Disney gets it rather than Universal.

While I absolutely live Lord Of The Rings, I don't see them ever putting it into a theme park.

The Harry Potter thing has been floating for a very long time and would make sense for Disney in regards to demographics. I must say that I am bit surprised more has not been said in the last month. Perhaps it is cooling down a bit.

As far as Narnia goes, it appears they have a hit on there hands bigger than perhaps they even thought. I will be stunned if major attractions don't spring up with the Narnia theme all over the great Disney empire.
