Harry Potter Goblet of Fire Movie

Anyone else seen this yet? If you haven't and are a fan of the books, make sure you go because it's the best one yet. Given the size of the book, I was surprised how little they cut - they left in quite a lot.

For those of you who HAVE seen it; one question. Did you find it a lot harder to enjoy the scenes with Snape now that we know exactly what he's done in the book (or in the film, going to do eventually)? I felt like booing Alan Rickman every time he came on screen! Well, it is panto season soon...

We saw the film the day it was released and I have to say it is the best one yet for me. I haven't read the HP books, so I can't comment on what happens with Snape.

Rhiannon and I are going tomorrow - I haven't read the book though Rhiannon has. But personally (and I don't expect you to appreciate this Steve!!!) Alan Rickman is so luscious I could never boo him however much of a baddie he is!!!

I have read all the books and seen the Goblet of Fire. I thought the film was very good (especially the special effects), but not as good as the books. I too think Alan Rickman is fab, but he isn't anywhere as evil as he should be in the books. Apart from hitting Harry & Ron over the head with books and leering at them occassionally, he wasn't bad enough for me (because he is dreadful in the books)

Loved the visuals and special effects, but hugely disappointed with the storyline in this one. It just doesn't hold together for me. I'm not a HP book fan, but I expect the films to at least have some continuity. Just as a 'for instance', how come no-one reacted to Harry's red distress signal in the maze, when they'd just been told a red flare would bring immediate action??

I thought the film was a let down in comparison with the books. Cant wait for the next book to come out though!! i love HP books they are brilliant!

I found it much harder to enjoy it this time. Scott says we still don't know is Snape's really evil or not, Dumbledore could have sacrificed himself so Snape could stay undercover but i'm not entirely convinced about that theory.

As for the red flare. I thought he sent the red flare up above Fleur so someone would come to help her, then he ran away to carry on. When he finally exits the maze with Cedric's body, Fleur is there having evidently been rescued by someone, we just didn't see it as we were following Harry. I could be wrong but that was my belief.

Saw this with the kids at the weekend.

Very enjoyable, but most book adaptations always fall short of the mark IMHO.

They left out shedloads of stuff from the book but to put it all in would have taken about 5 hours or so of film I guess.

Summer 2006 rings a bell as an estimate! I can't believe it's really going to be the last!!

I saw the movie on the opening Friday and I was just absolutely blown away by it. I actually had a tear in my eye when it came on screen, because it was just so awesome! I thought it was the best one so far, but I can see how people who hadn't read the books wouldn't enjoy it as much.

Yes, I'll admit Alan Rickman is an awesome actor, which is why it was even tougher for me not to want to boo him!

I was rather disappointed with this film, but it must have been entertaining as the time just flew by in the cinema. I think I missed the general day to day action of school life and the 3 friends solving problems together. It also seemed very bitty and hard to follow how quickly time was passing between scenes.

I was amazed at how much the characters had grown up - inevitable really if they take more than a year between films. I wonder if they will have to change the cast before they get to film 7.

Just got back from seeing it and I thought it was absolutely magnificent. I loved every moment - excellent in every respect. I haven't read the book so I had no particular expectations.
