I know you're out there!

Let's talk HP!

Anyone planning on going to WWoHP when it opens? Or like me, hoping it'll be open during their already-planned spring trip?

Have you ever taken a house sorting quiz to see what house you would be in? I usually get Hufflepuff.

I want to see WWoHP so much! I've never even been to Universal or IOA. I usually stay onsite at Disney and use Disney transportation, and go over to St. Pete to visit the Gulf beaches on the rare occasions I go offsite. This is going to have to change soon!

I'm usually a Ravenclaw in sorting hat quizes, btw. Occasionally a Gryffindor.

I LOVE Harry Potter. I can't wait for WWoHP to open. Hubby and I were hoping for an early spring opening but alas we will have to wait until most likely late fall :sad1: I just saw the 3d map rendering and it got me excited all over again. I am definitely buying a wand :)

I usually end up in Slythering. I am just that classy. :lmao:

I am currently re-reading the books again as I found myself kind of speeding along trying to get to the end because I needed to know what happens. Now I am hoping to catch things I didn't see before.

How did everyone feel about Half Blood Prince? [the movie] I was slightly disappointed as I felt they didn't give us as much of Snape as they did in the books which is a shame [he's my favorite character] and I thought they spent way too much time on who likes who. Granted that's not going to stop me from buying the super extended mega deluxe edition DVD

Ohhhh a Universal newbie huh? We usually stay onsite too and without a car but it's a pretty inexpensive and easy ride from Mears from one of the Disney resorts to Universal. Now I can't remember the exact price and I'm sure it's gone up a little since Sept 2007 but I remember it being roughly $30 per person RT. There is a list of pick up times to Universal and you call approx. an hour before you want to go 'home' and they give you the exact time the bus will be there.

Make sure not to miss Shrek 4D or MIB (I haven't been on Simpsons yet) over on the Studios side as I'm sure, like me, you'll be spending a lot of time in IOA and HP. :goodvibes

Oh yeah, when I'm not in Hufflepuff, I get sorted into Ravenclaw.

1. I'm DEFINITELY buying a wand too! I wonder how the wands are going to choose us though.

2. I'm re-reading them too, though I don't know what re-read number I'm on, 5 or 6... idk. I'm currently reading Goblet of Fire and Harry's just about to put the egg in the prefect's bathtub. I feel like I always zoom through GOF since Order of the Phoenix is my favorite, I can't wait to get to it.

3. I TOTALLY AGREE!!!! I saw HBP in the theater with my non-HP-obsessed fiance and he didn't really understand it. He never read the books but has seen the movies with me multiple times. Then I tried watching it with the knowledge a HP movie only person would know and I completely understand why he was confused. Up until HBP, Jordan was totally fine in understanding as much as he could as the movies still left a lot out but they also got the point across. He also didn't understand why Snape all the sudden was in contact with Bella, Narcissa or Wormtail, and I thought some kind of scene with him either directly or indirectly interacting with Voldemort would have been nice, just to clarify he was actually working the dark side also.

Luckily though, DH 1&2 are supposed to be MUCH more like the book as said in interviews.

And I do hope they give a better epilogue in the movie than Rowling wrote for us :goodvibes

Haha, this thread is exactly what Disney doesn't want to see!

I'll be going in late August and taking a day out for the Studios. I've been waiting for WWoHP since 2006!

I'm usually sorted as Ravenclaw, but see myself as more of a Hufflepuff.

My family is staying at FW for a 2 week stay in August. We know that a couple of days we'll be taking that drive to Universal!

We've never been to Universal, and my oldest daughter (17) who is a total disney freak, says she's not interested in anything else there, just the new Harry Potter stuff.

The maps and videos look sooooo cool! I really want to try some butterbeer.:drinking1

We are going in June. We'll be spending part of the week at disney and the rest at US/IOA.

I'm sure hoping HP at IOA will be open then. I already booked my room at Universal because I think as it gets closer to the opening, the cheaper rooms will fill up fast.

We like US/IOA so I can't wait to enjoy all of it including the WWoHP.

Where did you find the sorting hat classes? Is it on the HP stuff on the website?

We added a Universal day to our trip next January just so we could go to the HP park :teeth:

I'm usually a Hufflepuff, sometimes a Gryffindor.

My entire family LOVES HP! We have HP scene it, clue, card game, legos, etc. Total nerds I guess;)

I'm dying to get to WWofHP but DH is in nursing school. While he doesn't care if I solo it to WDW later this year, he has asked that I wait and do HP with him.:sad1: He'll graduate (hopefully:)) May 2011, so I'm hoping we'll do our usual Nov thing and go Nov 2011. Maybe the crowds will have died down a little by then.

I'm always in Ravenclaw, DH and DS are Gryffindors. I also plan on doing a re-read before we go, I sometimes do it before the movies, but then I find I'm more disappointed in the movie adaptation.

So what's everyone's fav book? Mine is Goblet of Fire.

Congrats on DH for nursing school! I'm in the prerequisite stage myself hoping to get into OHSU next year.

I feel the same way about reading the books then watching the movies. Especially with Goblet of Fire, I think that one was the worst in terms of sticking to the story.

My favorite book is Order of the Phoenix. I'm re-reading them right now and I'm just about to start it!

We extended our trip in order to hit Universal two days specifically for WWofHP. Luckily we will be renting a car so we plan on sticking around at night to enjoy city walk as well!

Have never been to Universal, but will go the next trip. Wouldn't be able to stand being that close and not going to Harry Potter!!!!!!

Always come up Gryffindor. I keep hoping HP will open in time for our trip late april but I'm thinking may is more likely so I might have to wait until next years trip. Was disappointed with HBP movie - think it left a lot out. Still waiting for next one eagerly though.

We're going late-ish April too... it really does seem as if we'll just miss it :(

I'm glad you'll get to go next year... I don't think I will :sad1:x100

Yeah, I keep hoping they'll do previews but I'm concerned that they're not even giving a guide opening date yet :sad2: Not def that I'm going next year but looks hopeful...if we can afford it. Hope you get to go back sooner than you think too.

I started reading the books when I was in college, and only because at the time I was babysitting at night for a friend while she worked and she didn't have TV, so once the kids were in bed and my homework was done I would just grab a book and read. Got instantly hooked. After that I think I started a chain reaction in my household and got mom, step-dad and my then DBF, now DH into them. Once the movies started coming out it was a rush to get through the book once again so we could watch the movie.

Needless to say we are all BIG HP fans in my house and are so excited to see WWoHP when we go in October. Would love to be able to be there for the grand opening but no such luck. We keep up with the pictures and stuff here on the Dis and I think it just gets us even more excited.

I have issues with each movie a little but I think its mainly because I've read the books first, and there is always so much more to the books. They would have to add an extra hour or so to each movie to be exactly to the book and that would be a little much, although I would totally sit through it and love it

yes i am!! i cant wait!!! I will be going august/september to disney, but my cousin and i plan to go to universal and seaworld too..

Unforunately mine and my husband's work schedules won't allow us to got till october but I'm sooooo excited.:woohoo: We are doing both Disney and Universal. My husband has never been to universal and is more excited about it than disney (hoping he becomes as addicted to disney as me though). If it wasn't for Harry Potter then we wouldn't go cause we don't get that long of vacation and we trying to fit a 3 day cruise in our schedule.

Hi all, nice to see other HP fans!!! DH and I will be going to Orlando June 26-July 2 and plan on spending the first 2 days at Universal/IOA...I can't wait for Harry Potter world!!!

In regards to the movies, I do love them and just appreciate the fact that the majority of the time movie-adaptations are never as good as the books and it would be almost impossible to fit everything from the books into the movies.
