Harry Potter Book 7 *SPOILERS*

Could it be that Snape didn't really kill Dumbledore either? Dumbledore engineered his own death. It was the killer of Dumbledore that couldn't enter the house, which was really Dumbledore wasn't it?

Actually, I didn't think much of the protective spells at Grimmauld Place. A loud voice and a fake ghost? I wouldn't think it'd take too much to get through that.

I agree with both - but she didn't say that he got through the spells, she said he entered before the spells were put up.

The only way that would make sense is if the Pensieve presented Snape's memories out of order. The rest of them are in order, but I'm gonna choose to believe that some little quirk happened while Harry was putting them in the Pensieve, and those two memories were shown out-of-order. :)

I think that there was also a Tongue Tying thing....I'll have to reread and check.

1) Why the heck didn't she give Dolores Umbridge her comeupin's???? Really now, how hard would that have been to write in there and give us some satisfaction?

2) And this is the big one that is actually really bothering me; If Ginny, who is extremely skilled as a witch, was allowed to partake in being a fake Potter for the escape, why the heck was she so forceably forbidden from partaking in the greatest battle of all times. I felt so pained at watching them tell he to stay put because she was too young. Come on now!

ITA with you about Delores! Can't stand her - I was wishing she would be fed to Grayback.

But I don't think Ginny participated in the escape from Privet Drive. She was at the Burrow waiting for everyone to arrive.

Ginny was not a fake Harry. She was waiting at the Burrow with her mom. The fake Harrys were Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, Fleur and Mundungus.

I was the third person in my family to read DH and I FINALLY finished last night. Loved it. Every page.

Yes the epilogue was rather cheesy, but so what. That's 5 pages out of thousands. I won't hold it against her.

As long as we're second-guessing the epilogue, I have to say that I found myself hoping Dudley would be among those on platform 9.75. I picture him there bidding farewell to his first child to board the Hogwarts Express and seeing Harry for the first time in nearly 20 years. As an extra sprinkle of cheese, they would have a warm, friendly reunion.

Ah, I see there is some rereading to be done on my part here. :upsidedow

I feel much better about it now, though. Thanks for that clarification. I was getting pretty worked up about it.

Now i like that thought Dudley having a little wizard of his own...

I know I can subscribe, but for some reason the pulldown was not working for me. So this post serves as my subscription.

I wonder if Harry ever saw the Dursleys again. Do they even know what a hero Harry is?

I dont even think that they would care, to be honest. They have hated him all along, altho i have a slight feeling about petunia, and i agree what a shock if dudley little one were to be a witch or wizard, i mean , its a possibility.

I don't know, I didn't think that they cared either until it was time to say good bye. I think that Dudley really loved him like a brother. They always were arguing and fighting but what siblings don't? So the Elder Wand is going to be buried with Dumbledor again?

I never even thought of that! What a great idea! I don't know so much about a warm, friendly reunion, but what a great plot twist. Vernon and Petunia would be driven mad having a magic grand baby!

I guess maybe I interpreted this differently. I thought when Harry said he was going to put it back where it came from, he was going to have it buried with Peverell, or near him anyway. I thought this could be what she meant, but I'm not positive.

I never thought that he would bury it with Peverell. (Sp?)
I always thought that Dumbledor was the true owner (He won it after all.) Do any of you know when this so called "encyclopidia" of J.K.'s will be published. I have heard talk about it but I don't really now if it is true.

I want to make a memorial in my signature of all the people who died throughout the series but do you think it is to soon? Would it still be considered a spoiler?:confused3

I think its too soon to include any deaths from the latest book. Just my opinion, of course.

Do you think our wands share a core? :scared1:

Wow - you two are really in sync! Maybe you are the female versions of the Weasley twins! :goodvibes

I think it's both! What do you say, JunieJay? And, don't be afraid ... I'm sure our wands are meant for good, not evil! Just b/c they may share a core doesn't mean we're going to end up like Harry and Voldemort!

OK, here's another one:
How did Snape get sorted into Slytherin? I thought Slytherin only took purebloods - after all, their motto is "Toujours pur" - Always pure.

Snape is a half-blood.

That's not the Slytherin motto -- that's the motto of the Black Family.

I absolutely love your signature just the way it is. That pic you are using now makes me cry. I am going to miss Harry Potter and his best friends Ron and Hermoine so much....... :(

Absolutely!! :) Its all good! :)

Petunia sent a gift out of a sense of...I dunno whether responsibility is the right word. She has to be able think she's above Lily and Harry. She's the level-headed, responsible and most importantly NORMAL one. She sent presents and let Harry live there out of some weird sense of duty and/or keeping up appearances (even appearances in her own twisted little head). The crappy gift and the poor way she treated harry showed the true person she was.
Petunia sent the gift, as she took care of Harry, only out of obligation or duty. I think she loved Lily until she lost her to the magical world. Then, b/c she couldn't go to Hogwarts, became resentful of that world and took care of her pain by calling everyone in that world "freaks" and totally disassociating herself from anything/everything that had to do w/wizardry ... inc. her relationship w/her sister. I think Lily still loved Petunia. However, Petunia, exhibited her jealousy as hatred. It goes on today -- girls see someone who they think is "better" (maybe has better clothes, is prettier, etc.) and instead of saying "Wow, she has great clothes" or "Wow, she's pretty", they turn it into "She has those clothes ... she's a real beotch." "Yeah, she may be pretty but she's a real beotch". The girl could be the nicest thing ... but in order to feel better about themselves, the girl who looks at the pretty or well dressed girl has to put her down in order to feel better about herself. Same w/Petunia.

The Harry/Ginny thing was so ridiculous. They didn't have a developed relationship in any of the books unless they were breaking up! :confused3
Ummm ... Harry and Ginny dated in the 6th book (pg. 534 paperback) -- they got together after they won the last quidditch match. Harry broke it off only once w/her. They weren't continually breaking up. He broke up w/her for her safety. Harry knew what he had to do and didn't want her to get involved b/c he knew Voldemort would hurt the people that he loved the most and he didn't want Ginny hurt. And, he did tell that to Ginny "Voldemort uses people his enemies are close to. He's already used you as bait once, and that was just because you're my best friend's sister. Think how much danger you'll be in if we keep this up. He'll know, he'll find out. He'll tray and get to me through you." Ginny then states she doesn't care and Harry says he does b/c he doesn't want to have to attend her funeral knowing it was his fault. This is in Half Blood Prince pg. 646 paperback version. Harry's feelings for Ginny don't vanish in book 7 -- he often wonders about her, misses her, wishes he had word from her, etc. Plus, we don't know what happened right after the battle and the 19 yrs. later. During the 19 "empty" years inbetween the end of book 7 and the epilogue gives plenty of time to develop a relationship in. I'm sure after Voldemort was defeated, Harry and Ginny picked up where they left off.
