Anyway, here's the question:
If Dumbledore has had the Elder Wand throughout the HP series, why didn't he defeat Voldemort when they were battling at the MoM at the end of OotP?
My guess is he knew that he could not until all the Horacuxes (sp?) was gone, including the one in Harry.
Yes, I figured that was why he didn't KILL Voldemort, but why couldn't he disarm him and then put him in Azkaban or something?
I don't have my book here, but I think Voldemort made some comment about that spell not working again. After reading the last book, I took that as a reference to Grindelwald and how Dumbledore had captured him and put him in the wizarding prison in Germany. So he was trying to capture him, just was unsuccessful.
I know...I'm wondering *why* he was unsucessful at capturing Voldemort, since he (DD) had the wand to end all wands.
I'd also like to know:
1. Why Harry's wand acted of it's own accord in the beginning (when it shot the gold sparks and defended Harry) - I've read the replies, but I still don't understand why it did that. I'm rereading DH now, so maybe I'll pick it up the second time around.
2. Is little James's middle name Sirius?
3. What are the significance of Ron & Hermione's children's names? I've read the speculation, but I'd like to hear it from the "horse's mouth"!
4. Was Lavender Brown actually bitten by Fenrir? The way it's worded in the book, it's hard to tell if Fenrir was *going* to bite her when Hermione stopped him, or if he had already succeeded.
5. Who did George marry? Who did Draco marry? (I hope not Pansy, I hope she's at the bottom of the lake.)
6. What's Charlie up to? The Patil twins? Cho? Lee? Dean? What about scaredy cat Zacharias Smith, who was last seen knocking first-years out of the way so he could escape Hogwarts before the fighting started?
7. What exactly did Aberforth do to that goat?
8. Did Olivander go back to making wands, or is someone else the new "It" Wandmaker?
9. Why didn't Madam Maxime attend Fleur & Bill's wedding?
10. Why did Voldemort think that no one would find his Horcrux in the Room of Requirement, when clearly, countless people had found it in the past? I thought maybe all those objects were just things that other students had misplaced and they just ended up in the RoR, but in a couple of places, she alludes to students actually hiding things there. So why did Voldemort think it was so secret?
11. Were the spiders who carried Hagrid away trying to save him but were thwarted, or were they bringing him to Voldemort?
12. Where's Mundungus? I hope in jail somewhere.
13. What happened to the house on Grimmauld Place? What about Kreacher?
Anyway, those are some of the things I'd like to ask the great JKR should I ever meet her. Of course, I'm sure that if I *did* ever meet her, all I'd be able to do is

I love the way she answered everyone's questions with little details, such as when someone asked about the stone, instead of saying "Oh, it was just lost forever in the forest" she told how a centaur's hoof had mashed it in the ground on the way to battle.
Here's one that someone will probably be able to answer easily:
What are "CVs"? In the beginning of the book, Uncle Vernon mentions something like "If I'd even seen any CVs..."
