Hello, does anyone know if they accept reservations or are they walk ins only? I saw one web site said to call Disney reservations and then Disney blog only mentioned walk ins so some conflicting reports. We will be there the last weekend of February and want to get our 7 month old Daughter's first hair cut there (although there isnt to much hair to cut lol) we still want to get it done there and think that it is something special.

It's walk-in only. But well worth the wait!

they take reservations but from my experience I still had to wait like I walked in...I thought I was gonna get to jump everyone that was there already but I still had to wait my turn...really a waste of time...I dont think have quite figured out how to deal with the reservations...

you can actually make reservations; i made them along with making my ADR for lunch and dinner. some things to note though:
* it's not yet widely know that you can make reservations, so i've seen reports on the dis that people would be annoyed to see other people surpassing the wait line
* i do think they reserve some for walk in and some for reservation;as when i booked, we could only book 2 at a time (we're going to have a haircut with the whole family, thus we'll be spread out over 1.5 hours....).. not sure about the latter though

If they take reservations it's a new thing. I know that they haven't taken them in the past.

Awesome thank you everyone. We already have our Crystal Palace Breakfast ressie for that morning so I will have to call back WDW Dine and make a reservation for my lil one to get her first hair cut :yay:

I just went a week ago for our daughters first haircut. We made a RESERVATION, you can do so on the phone with Disney.
We checked in at our reserved time and waited maybe 4 minutes (we had a morning ressie) and then took us AHEAD of others who did not have a reservation. The line was LONG coming out of the shop.

I would make a reservation.

Yep, for sure calling to today to get a reservation for my lil one. So excited!

Walk ins only but things change every day in WDW. Granddaughter was 11 months....very little hair to cut, mostly just the bangs but it was "priceless". Her first hair cut...she played with a ton of stickers...was a trooper thru the whole ordeal....our daughter just got a package from Disney with her gifts (guess they were all out when we were there) Set of ears with "firat hair cut" on them......made my day!

We were there over Christmas, and we made an appointment at the concierge desk at our resort for my son and daughter. We were told they can't make reservations for that same day, as they print off the schedule in the morning for the whole day (or something like that.) However, my dh also got his haircut later in our vacation by being a walk-in. We did have to wait until they could get him in.

I like having a reservation!

:cool1:

I took my son in September and I had a Reservation. Ours was for 10:15 so we had breakfast at Crystal Palace and then headed over. Mine was right at the start of when they started accepting reservations so it was a bit disorganized and people did get upset because they thought I was making stuff up :rotfl:. The staff had my reservation printed out and Michal helped us as fast as he could. I think we waited 10 minutes. We had a great experience though and I can't wait to take my son back.

We made a ressie a couple days ago for Monday morning at 11. I hope it is a short wait. They told us to arrive 10-15 minutes early.

They started taking ressies around the beginning of September last year.

We did a walk-in around 11a. There were 2 reservations ahead of us and 3 people in the chairs (getting cuts). I think we waited ~15 minutes to get in.

If you can plan around the start of a parade (Move It, Shake It especially), your kids can watch the parade come out while they wait their turn. The parade comes out of a staging area right next to Harmony and the performers hit the ground runnning. It was a fantastic distraction for us.

One important thing to remember at the MK Barber Shop. When they removed the old antique cash register and put in a terminal to allow use of credit cards and hotel charges and the like they hooked into The Emporium's network. The register, unlike ones in table service restaurants, cannot handle tips as part of the transaction.

So if you are planning on using the Harmony Barber Shop please be aware that if you are using any sort of card you cannot add a tip on the card and should have cash available for tipping.

Good to know, I wouldn't have even thought about that. I would have had to run to closest ATM lol.
