We only had around 75 kids, which is not a whole lot for us. We usually go all out for halloween (lights, decorations, music, fog, ect), so we get kids that are driven and just go to our house. Once there was a convoy of cars and we had 20+ kids at once! A couple years ago we would get 200-300 kids. I remember when I was trick or treating the streets were packed with kids. It's suoer nice out tonight too, staying at around 2-3C and clear.
We went four years or so without a T&T-er, about ten years ago, so we don't even buy candy or do any decorating anymore. (Anyone want to buy a plug-in three lighted pumpkin tower? Maybe I'll donate it to be sold at our church fair next week.)
My door bell rang at 6:30, again at 7:05, and once more at 7:48. That's it so far. My DD11 went to trick or treat with her friend in another neighborhood altogether. Where are all the children? I see them at the school bus stops in the morning.
We got killed this year with ToT'ers. I was so happy about it. The past few years we declined in numbers a bit (yes I keep track). This year, however, we were cleaned out in about 2 hours, well over 100 pieces of candy, and we were only giving 1 per customer. It was a great night to go out, too. We took DD & DS through our neighborhood and all but maybe 2 houses were lit up and decorated!
We used to have a lot of older people living in our neighborhood, but they've been steadily moving into nursing homes and apartments, so the area is "turning over" to young families. Looks like we'll be in good shape for the next few Halloweens!
We had about 60 young trick-or-treaters and 3 adults. Everyone came between 6 and 7:30. Then things seemed to quiet down. I asked DH to check outside and see if there were more trick-or-treaters on their way. He said everything was quiet and the street was empty. Most of my neighbors turned their lights off by 8pm and we did the same.
We only got about 20. I was really surprised. I was prepared for well over 100. We live at the end of a cul de sac so I guess not many came down our street. The weather was perfect too...in the 70s.
