Our next trip is March 2004. We have made our reservations at our home resort, BWV, and are all set there. However, we would really like to try to the out the new BCV. Of course the earliest we can try is August--7 months out. Anyone have any sense on how booked the BCV is and what are chances are? (We only have our points from BWV and will have to rent to get to the BCV.) Appreciate your thoughts on this one. Thanks.

You can try to switch your points 7 months out using the reservation for BWV and switching to BCV. You do not have to rent points to do that!!:D

Don't have a real answer to your question, but it could be either way considering that's still Spring Break time, you could have people who are BCVers wanting to change to BWV at the 7 month window, giving you a chance to get in. There's also the fact that point requirements are higher, maybe deterring people from travelling at a busier time.

The flip side is that SAB is a big draw and people may not be wanting to give that perk up, making it more difficult for you to get in.

You could always call MS right now and explain your situation and ask them how availability is looking for your dates right now. It might give you an idea of what to expect.

Good luck

we stayed at BCV the last week of March making the reservations about 7 months in advance. no problem whatsoever.

thanks much...by the way, what is SAB? And, also, do you have access to the main pool when staying at the BCV?

SAB is Storm Along Bay, it is the maim pool at the Beach and Yacht Club, and yes it is accessible for DVC members staying at BCV

Since you have a reservation I would suggest you call MS ( member services) and have your name placed on the wait list for the time you need at BCV. I have found the waitlist to be very convenient and aways came through when trying to book at least three months in advance. We stayed at BCV last year and it was great. I think you will enjoy it. BWVs are still our favorite.

Times you may have an issue with reservation would be XMAS, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Also, some other timeshares such as Marriot will charge everytime you need to alter the date of a reservation. Good luck you still have plenty of time to book for March, 2004.

:( Unless you book 6-7 months out, it's been pretty hard to get into the BCV since it opened. We have tried several times on a less then 6 month window, and have not had any luck. We are currently on the wait list for the end of August. I guess We have a problem since we require a handicap room for one of our party, plus a regular room {studio} nearby. They did not actually call it a handicapped room, they called it a room with a roll in shower.

We didn't have any trouble switching from OKW to BCV for the 4th of July week at 7 months.

I just booked at BCV 2 weeks ago for my next trip in Sept without a problem. I also had the option to book at BCV for my most recent trip in May during the Memorial Day holiday and also for another upcoming trip in Nov. For both of these trips I chose BWV but BCV was also available and it was under the 7 mo window in every instance.

We booked BWV at our 11-month window, then switched to BCV at under the 7-month window (maybe 6-6 1/2 months if I remember right). No problem at all, but then again it was for the first week of May, which I guess tends not to be busy anyway. I'd call right at the 7-month window, though, just to be safe -- in case anyone else is trying to do the same thing! Good luck! (BTW, BCV was wonderful!)

We had no problem with a last minute reservation this past March for 2 studios at BCV- we made the ressie about 50 days before our arrival and had no problem. Do the waitlist for the 7 month window, I'm sure it will be fine. You will LOVE BCV!!!

We were able to get a 1br at the BCV at 1 week out in February. Maybe we just got really lucking after reading these posts.

We were at BCV the 2nd week of March 2003. Originally had booked VWL, but changed to BCV in Sept. 2002 for a 2 bedroom and had no trouble changing.

We own at BWV and just recently added on there and bought pts at BCV. As soon as the paperwork was mailed I made reservations for July (3 mos out) and had to waitlist 2 of the 5 nights for a 1BR. But within 2 weeks the waitlist request came through. There was, however, no hope of getting a 2BR for the entire stay. So if you're looking for a 1BR, you'll probably be okay.

I book our trip at 11 months out at our home resort (VWL) and then at the seven month mark decide if we want to change or not. I have had no problem whatsover getting BCV. In fact, for Thanksgiving week, I was able to get BCV before VWL!
