Hard time at a DVC resort

Almost two years have passed, and I figure it's about time to see if anyone has new thoughts since we added the PIT and CFW to the prison system:
  • The PIT gives you a GV option that PVB didn't have previously. That update, now added to an already desirable resort prison.
  • CFW OTOH, adds a whole new degree of peaceful solitude with the expansive grounds of Fort Wilderness being available, and expected LSL bringing future options and amenities. You could take a cabin now, and potentially request a transfer to LSL later.

Also a more reasonable 2 bedroom & 1 bedroom units to reserve.

CFW is solitary confinement lol. Kidding! It has one of the largest perimeters, it spans 750 acres. For context SSR is 65 acres. Not sure if those numbers I found are correct though.

It’s a toss up between Poly and AKL for me. Poly has great amenities and plenty of visual eye candy looking out of the resort. You can watch the lagoon, all the different forms of transportation, the MK fireworks, etc. But I imagine the size of the resort would get old quickly. That’s why I’d probably go with AKL instead. It’s huge and the animals could provide something less repetitious than the workings around Poly. The animals have a story to follow if you have nothing but time to spend paying attention. How many years am I doing hard time? 🤣

It's a lot of years, think 15 to 30. ;)

I think the solitude of CFW might draw me there for a long-term sentence. Poly might be a desirable location, but the busyness of the resort would get on my nerves after a while. All those people going places on the monorail, hitting the parks, walking over to Grand Floridian for signature dining, and you can't do that. They’re all talking and laughing about their experiences, while you commiserate at Trader Sam's, telling your tale of woe to a bartender over a Tiki-Tiki-Tiki-Tiki-Tiki Rum.

You've been sentenced to life imprisonment at a DVC resort. You cannot leave the resort, someone else will be doing all the fun things like working and shopping to support you. You can use all the restaurants and facilities at the resort, but cannot leave the resort grounds (it's your prison). Any resort, any room, your choice. No prison transfers allowed, you're stuck there for life.

Where are you doing time (room and resort)?
Aulani for sure. I have no problem living out my days getting fat eating unlimited poke and dole whips. Definitely would stay in a 3BR ocean view grand villa. Also Hawaiian food>WDW food sorry. I feel like it'd be torture to stay at WDW and watch the fireworks every night knowing everyone's in the parks having fun. Also being able to go to the beach is a pretty nice perk.

If it has to be a resort near a park that's a little tougher but I'd probably go with RIV GV just because we really like the quality of the rooms and I would not want crowds at my resort. SSR GV would also be tempting for golf even though I'm not a golf person but I'll stick with RIV for near parks but obviously my first choice is still Aulani.

If it’s decades then my next question is who is paying?

Grand Flo is the only resort with room service and I’m going to need at least a bottle of champagne daily to survive

We just stayed at CFW. It's a PITB when it comes to getting to the parks, but it would make a nice "no parks" place, so a great prison. The pools are OK, the stables are cool, and you can watch the fireworks from the beach.

The only problem is that it is huge. Would we be able to take the internal buses? Or, could we have golf cart?

AKV Jambo GV. It is huge with great balconies and a Pool Table. Not to mention a great lobby.
I suppose CFW would be great just because of the size of the grounds. Hard to get too board out in the woods!

We'll just say... "the state" pays for everything at the resort without exception. It just has to be things normally available at the resort.

(For example, you can't get outside food delivery, not even from another DVC resort. You could eat at Victoria & Alberts or have them bring room service to you if you're at GF, but not if you're at the Fort. You'd have to eat at Fort Wilderness restaurants.)

You could use internal buses. Yes, you could have a golf cart. It is assumed that everything normally possible at a resort is available, you just can't leave the resort.

(Make sure if you are using a bus, that you get off before it leaves the resort property. Otherwise, your exploding collar will go off) ;)

I don't even remember what I said 2 years ago, but I would agree with this. I don't know if I would say Aulani for sure, but it would be between RIV GV and Aulani GV for sure.
