Hard-ticketed event and FP+ question?

We just booked our stay for the Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon in November. Did anyone here attend the Finish Line Party at Epcot the night of the marathon AND have FP+ access in 2013?

The Finish Line party tickets give us entry to Epcot at 7pm, which (I believe) is before the park closes to the general public. I'm trying to figure out if my friend and I who are attending the party (DH is doing the run) will be able to book FP+ for the time period that Epcot is still open to the general public after we're allowed entry

TIA!

(See post #3 for clarification as to the question :))

No way to know that until it becomes known whether or not there is a way to link that ticket to MDX as an admission ticket.

You wouldn't be able to get 3 FP+ in 2 hours at any rate. So I don't know if it would actually work or not.

When we got tickets to the TOT 10 Miler party last year, they were just normal tickets...looked just like our regular tickets, same type of number, etc...I don't think linking them is an issue. But since it's a ticket for a hard-ticketed event, I don't know if it will work for FP+ outside the official hard-ticketed hours (though the tickets do state entry allowed at 7, the event officially starts at 10). I imagine it's handled similarly to the MNSSHP or MVMCP tickets where entry is allowed at 4pm, though the party doesn't start til 7 - but I don't know if people were able to book FP+ under those tickets either.

As for not getting 3 FP...in Epcot, I wouldn't be interested in booking 3 FP+ in the first place. It would just be nice to maybe get the Illuminations FP+ (I'm assuming TT and Soarin' will be open for at least a portion of the party, as the headliners were for the TOT 10 miler last year in DHS), and maybe (very maybe) one for Mission Space (ride before we do any eating/drinking ;))...

You are required to book three, whether you plan to use them or not. What I don't know is if you are shown in MDX as having park entrance as of 2 hours before the park closes, is if you can book any at all because you can't get 3 in for that amount of time.

I suppose what you want to know is whether or not MDX will read that ticket as allowing admission for the entire day and not just the 2 hours it will technically give you, as it is not valid for admission until 7 PM. If it does, that means anybody with one of these tickets will be able to link it to DMX use it for full day admission at Epcot because DMX doesn't know the difference, so it's doubtful unless Disney overlooked that.

This is why I'm asking if anyone has any experience with how fp+ is handled with hard ticketed events. Fp+ was in testing during the Halloween and Christmas parties this year, so I'm sure someone here had some kind of experience with it.

Since legacy FP was never available during the Halloween and Christmas parties, I doubt that FP+ would be. Most people go to the parties for the party-specific events, so rides usually don't have long lines.

To clarify - I'm not asking about during party hours. The party doesn't start til 10, officially, but the ticket allows you entry to epcot at 7 (much like MNSSHP tix let you in at 4, when the party starts at 7). I'm asking if fp+ is available during the time that the ticket allows entry *while the park is still open to the general public*

Bumping again. I would love to know this too.

you don't really need the FP+ during the After Party. The park will have around 15,000-20,000 people TOTAL in the park, if that. They capped the race off this year at what seems to be 12,000 people, and if each person brings 2-3 family members, and given they bought after party tickets for those family members to join.. it's not a lot of people. plus, most people (runners) will be starving and want to eat and drink instead of playing. I recall walking by most attractions and they for the most part had less than 15 min waits.

Also.. not everyone goes to the park after they finish the race.. most people go straight to their hotels instead.

TBH: i skipped a lot of the above and now went back to re-read what you really wanted to know and i can't say I know the answer to your question FOR SURE. It's worth a shot to call Disney and ask directly, since last year's FP+ wasn't completely in full effect yet either.

I know what you are asking may I suggest you head over to the Events thread ?

I'll bet there are runners there that can answer that for you as the Princess 1/2 was only a few weekends ago and they had a pasta party or something like that at Epcot the night before that race That was a hard ticket event I'll bet someone knows the answer
