I just checked their website after hearing about this on another thread. The next session is Th Jan. 26, and the group is Naked Eyes.
We are arriving at the Hard Rock that afternoon, and wondering if we should go. Not exactly our favorite music, but it might be fun anyway ??

If you are over 21 and you enjoy drinking and having a great party, then go for it! The Band is pretty much a moot point unless you are a huge music buff, but then you would prolly already know who Naked eyes was . But if loud music and drunks annoy you, make other plans

My DH and I go every month no matter what band is playing! We always have a great time and have met a lot of cool people. Everyone gives my DH a hard time because they think he looks like Greg Almand!

Naked Eyes is playing in January, they were supposed to play in July or August but the singer was sick. There was no band that night, but we have free tickets to go back for the January show. It should be on January 26.

I was a little disappointed in the Halloween show, because there was no special glass and they wanted to charge $15 for a special pin. (The last three Halloween shows we received a glass and a pin, when we walked in the door) Foreigner was great, but without Lou Grahm singing.

I am usually on the VMK thread, but thought I would check to see if any Disers go to the Velvet Sessions.

Can you tell me where it is at HRH and how much does it cost? Also do people dress up? I fear that after a day in the park with kids, we will appear too much as tourist! Also what time does it start? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

In the lobby, spreading out on to the balcony. $20/person. FYI, it's 21 and over only (it is essentially a cocktail party). You'll see people in all kinds of outfits, but the standard seems to be "Florida dressy," i.e. khakhis and a collared shirt, no suits or ties. Free drinks start at 6:30 (until 8:30), band should start up around 8:00.

And yes, Flying Pegasus, at least one more DISer usually makes it.

I got my invitation for this month's session 2 days ago (1/20).
This will be our first time, what do we do, just print out the email and bring it with us (we already RSVPd)?
