How is the food at the Hard Rock Hotel Rest? I think my oldest DD's would love the atmosphere. I don't know if we should just stop by for dessert, or a full meal.?
Went to Hard Rock in '04 & '05, Spring Break. My family enjoyed the restaurant. DS (7 now) and DD (14 now) enjoyed it. It was fun to look at the rock n roll memorabilia on the walls. Kid's didn't know who most of it was, but us adults enjoyed looking at it. I remember it being pretty noisy, obviously rock music playing, but the service was good, food was good. We must have liked it we went back 2 years in a row. I don't think the food was outstanding, just good.
My kids loved this place. The food is what I call typical chain restaurant food. My burger was good. The whole family enjoyed their food. What we all loved was the atmosphere. I have teenagers that are into rock youngest boy is even starting a band. My kids not only enjoy some of current the music but they also know their classic rock so they were in heaven.
Atmosphere is great. Neat stuff to look at on the walls. TVs are everywhere with music videos playing. Something will come on that the kids like.
Best idea is to order the Apps and share. Jumbo Combo and quesadillas are a good idea. Then order a desert or two and share. That way, you don't have any left overs and no food wasted. http://www.hardrock.com/locations/cafes/MenuNew.aspx?lc=ORLA

Just to clarify, do you mean the "Hard Rock Cafe," in CityWalk? Or "The Kitchen," the restaurant which is actually in the Hard Rock Hotel, a boat ride away. Because I think most if not all of the above reviews refer to the Cafe.
Never been to The Kitchen, but I understand it is a more "gourmet" (and expensive) place. As for the Cafe, I'd agree with the conventional wisdom, basically a chain restaurant, but good food for what it is.

The wife and I went to the HRC at the Seminole Casino in Hollywood Florida last weekend. Some people had birthdays, so the servers did their little thing to toast the birthday person. Then the YMCA song came on, and the servers got up on the tables and did the dance. So if you go, expect things to be loud. I ordered the Jumbo Combo, $17, but took half of it home. Yum, it was great. We'll be going back in a couple weeks and I'll order that one again.
