This is not a warning about the Universal Hard Rock Hotel but is a caution for all of you out-of-staters when you are booking you Florida vacations. There are two new Hard Rock Hotels that you should not confuse with the Orlando version, one in Tampa and one in Ft.Lauderdale/Hollywood. These are Gambling Resorts and are (if you read the fine print) titled "Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino". These are going to be great resorts but do not confuse them with the Orlando resort as they are owned and operated by different people. Also, gambling is still illegal in Florida(don't tell that to the state run lottery) and all the gaming is going to be high stakes bingo, slots and low stakes table games. They are no where near Vegas style gaming, but still fun.

Yes it is illegal in Florida to gamble, but you forgot to mention that it isn't illegal to gamble on Federal Land. The two properties that you mentioned are being installed on Seminole Indian reservations and they are considered to be federal land there for it is legal for them to have gambling. In the South Florida area there are about 3 other facilities that have gambling.

I know that this isn't your main point of this post but saying you brought up the subject it should be stated completely.

cool! Do you have a website for these other resorts? Are they not going to be like a Hard Rock Hotel? Or just not run by Loews?
