Are these highly recommend? or Will it best to look elsewhere? If so, where exactly?

My wife and I have only ever been to Hard Rock Cafes' in Rome, Edinburgh and Copenhagen. The one in Italy was brilliantly, so much that we went back their twice within a week - while the other's were good, but food naff.

As for Planet Hollywood, a few times in London and in Paris. Great place, but shame about the food and service wasn't too great.

Also, what memorobilia is currently at both these restaurants worth checking out?

Any info would be appreciated and sorry about the too many questions.

Planet Hollywood in DTD is about the same experience you mentioned. Poor food and service. Never again for us. We tried it twice.

Personally, I prefer the Hard Rock over the Planet Hollywood. We had a bad experience at the Planet Hollywood in WDW many years ago -- very, very long wait and then not so great service -- so we haven't been back. I've been to the one in NYC during the afternoon when it wasn't busy for just a drink and appetizers. I don't think it is worth a long wait. However, I've been to quite a few Hard Rock Cafes including the one in Orlando at Citywalk and have always enjoyed the food and service. :goodvibes

Thank you.

Planet Hollywood will definitely be a no go then.

Hard Rock cafe is a must and I can't wait to go there one evening.

Anybody enlighten me please about what memorobilia can be seen?

The way I always feel about Hard Rock, Planet Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe is that these are world wide chains and why would I want to eat at one at WDW when I can do that here. WDW has so many other unique places to try that I never want to waste my time eating at one of these when I'm there.

As for the merchandise, I know you can go into the store for Planet Hollywood and look around, I'm not sure about the other two, so if you "collect" thier things, you still can do that without eating there.

The Planet Hollywood is actually better than the one in Times Square New York. At least when I went. I was plesantly surprised.

If your looking for great food then forget it. But it's decent food in both places and the atmosphere is fun but once you've been to one then you get the idea ;) . WDW has so many restaurant choices that are not chains that I would go with something "unique". It's hard to tell you exactly where to look since I have no idea what you are looking for :confused3 . On my next trip I am trying for the 1st time Artist Point :artist: and California Grille and Kona Cafe (for breakfast), they are supposed to be excellent restaurants :thumbsup2 .

Just one question, do you mean Hard Rock or House of Blues? House of Blues is at DTD and Hard Rock is at Universal City Walk.

Either way, both are far superior to Planet Hollywood. I'll never go there again. HOB has amazing food and really good service - I highly recommend the corn bread. Avoid Sundays though, for anything before dinner, it's Gospel Brunch and it is a very crowded buffet, and in my opinion it's overpriced, but if you like Gospel music it could be right for you. They also have great bands at the HOB venue, so you might be able to catch a show while you're visiting. If you go to Hard Rock at City Walk it's really fun, the atmosphere is great, good food, especially the desserts, typical Hard Rock as anywhere else in the world, but they have a live venue attached to the store and have some excellent bands too.

LOVE the ceiling in the Hard Rock in Rome. . . TOO cool.

Most Hard Rock's have the same merchandise, but you can get the City Tee's that are unique to each restaurant. The Orlando Hard Rock's City Tee has a picture of the "Colosseum" from the Hard Rock Live next door.

We love the Hard Rock and end up going to the one in Pittsburgh on a regular basis - I could live on their chicken tenders in Heavy Metal sauce (nice and hot!)

The Hard Rock in Orlando though has different "rooms" with different themes, so get up and look around. They have an Orlando room full of memorabilia from Orlando bands (like matchbox twenty. . .), I think there's also a John Lennon room. . . not sure what else, LOL.

If there are any shows, the Hard Rock Live is a very cool little venue. I've been to a couple shows there.

I'm not much of a Planet Hollywood fan, I've never really found the food all that appetizing. At least the Hard Rock, they have a number of entrees that I love. Sure it's a chain, but each restaurant is completely unique from the others - there are some Hard Rock's I'd never go back to (Vegas, such a boring one!) and some that I just love (Rome! . . . and Pittsburgh has a great one too) It's a chain with TOTALLY different atmospheres. . . no cookie cutter design.

We've been to the Hard Rock in Rome as well and loved it as much as we do the HRs in both Philly and NYC. We've not yet visited the Orlando branch, but I've heard great things.

PH at WDW is okay with the caveats that it is really loud and service is so-so. I would not make a special effort to go, although the store is fun.

HOB is truly wonderful; we love Cajun food and enjoy HOB a lot. A cut above the other chains.
:thumbsup2

We have only eaten at Planet Hollywood once. Other than the place being exceedingly noisy, we enjoyed it. The wait was long, but not terrible. The food was surprisingly good.
HoB we eat at too. Always good. And really less wait and noise than PH.
HRC we eat at occaionally. (Right between USO and IoA in City Walk.)
They have your general HRC merchandise.
Again crowded and noisy. But guess what else would you expect? ;) :rotfl2:
DH belongs to some sort of HRC club. (He collects their pins.) With that membership he has front of the line, so our wait time has been minimal.
Make sure to check out HR Hotel too. They have a nice gift shop too.
And at LBV outlet near WDW there is a nice HR outlet store. :thumbsup2
