Hard of Hearing and the Candlelight Processional

Well, I was gifted with having my grandma visiting us (live in orlando) for christmas but it has created a bit of a concern for our plans for Christmas Eve as we haven't travelled with her before.

She is very hard of hearing (refuses to get hearing aids, and if we bough them for her she'd refuse to wear them so we gave up), wears headphones when watching tv at home because she has issues hearing the tv without it blaring loud. We have plans to have dinner at Chefs de France and then have tickets to the Candlelight Processional afterwards. Do they have headphones for those who are hard of hearing?

If not how is the volume in the theater?

Thanks I will contact that person as I was hoping that the information on WDW's Site about their being assisted listening devices at the AG theater was up to date but hopefully the person will know for sure!

Got a response from WDW and they do have assitive Listening Devices available at Guest Services and will help with shows at the American Gardens Theater. They do require a Deposit and after speaking with Guest Services I was told that its $25 for a deposit but another person told me it was $100. I will let you know how much we are charged after Christmas!

The deposit listed in the WDW Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities is listed as $25 for the Assistive Listening Device.
While it may have gone up, it would not have gone up that much.
My guess is that the person who said the deposit was $100 got it mixed up with the deposit for the HandHeld Captioning Device. That is listed as a $100 deposit.

Some of the newer handheld captioning devices include the ability to be used as a assisted listening device. Those are $100 fully refundible deposit. An assisted listening device is $25 fully refundible device. Whatever, I would go by what Mark says as he is the authority on deaf access.

Ok Well We had a really difficult time with the device never really got it to work properly but I received better information about the devices deposit policy.

Epcot was recently upgraded to new devices the deposit at EC is $100 fully refundable.

the other parks haven't been upgraded yet and currently are still $25 fully refundable but as they are upgraded I am told the deposit will go up as well.

Engineering though was being brought in to look at the EC system as it was not ampliphying sound but would give the captions to some of the attractions not all as it was supposed to. So they think its a problem with the system not the device itself as we tried 2 different ones.
