Harborside at Atlantis? Lots of ???

I was looking through the World Passport Resorts and have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with. Thanks!!

I was wondering if anyone has ever gone to Harborside at Atlantis in the Bahamas. I have heard great things from people that have gone to Atlantis(non DVC). They rave about the hotel. I see the Harborside resort provides a shuttle to Atlantis so that you may use their facilities. I was just wondering how long a shuttle ride it is and anything anyone can tell me about the Harborside resort would be wonderful. If anyone has done an exchange there through DVC, how far in advance have you had to book? Also, anyone think it is possible to enchange for the Harborside during President's week, or am I just dreaming? Those that have done World Passport exchanges, do you really only get what you want if you are very flexible and can go any time of the year and NOT during holiday weeks? Also, am I to assume Feb. in the Bahamas would be Peak season and is it always Sat. to Sat. for these exchanges?

Sorry for all the questions. Any info. anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

I've heard a lot about it but haven't been. You should know that Atlantis was dropped from the DVC exchange list due to lack of availability.

Oh, thanks Dean. I thought that I might have heard that or read that it was dropped, perhaps on this forum, but I saw it is still listed on the DVC website so I thought maybe it was still included. Well, there goes that thought. Could you tell me though, are the World Passport exchanges always Sat. to Sat.? Thanks for your quick and once again, helpful response.

It depends on the resort. If you have specific questions, I can find out the check in for you. Or you can go directly to II's directory which you can access without being a member. The only difference is the non member site does not tell which ones are 5* and which are not. Overall, most are Saturday only though Fri, Sat and Sunday are common. All are for a full week through II. This has an effect on any exchange choices. For example, Club Intrawest on kauai is Sunday only. Since we needed Sat, we left it off our list. A few are Thursday and or Monday as well. You need to be careful when searching as II assumes you will accept Friday, Sat or Sun checkin even if you specify a specific day. You must be very clear you will ONLY accept a certain day or days if that's what you want.
