**Happy Mother's Day**

I'm a little hurt by the Mothering Sunday comment. I've just come back from a beautiful Mothering Sunday service at church - the religious aspects are important to some of us.

I wound little DD up last night trying to go in her bedroom as she said the secret is in there.

I told her she had to make breakfast and lunch.

So when it came to breakfast time she asked what i wanted, i replied toast, i got cornflakes with no milk.

Lunch was a jam sandwich!

We are going out for tea tonight she wants 30p to pay bless her lol

I awaoke with raging hangover after last nights excesses! no Callum at home until about 6 this evening so will get my Mothers day and birthday presents then, (yes, am now going down in DIS history as the only person on the DIS birthday list who doesn't get a 'Happy Birthday' thread :sad1: ).
I was always brought up to belive that Mothering Sunday was a celebration to thank all those who have had a part in 'mothering' you, ie even grandparents, teachers, even Dads! they don't have to be your Mother by birth or even related to you.I didn't know it was a religious festival, just thought it was a big thank you day.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mum's out there, even if it is a bit late !!

I got breakfast in bed, and got some lovely gold earrings from oldest son, and jewellery organiser bag from youngest one.

Will have some wine tonight while we watch the t.v. and have a lazy evening. (This is the first year without my Mum so it's a bit upsetting for me - I miss her a lot).

The 'Mothering Sunday' comment wasn't meant to upset anyone, sorry if it has.

I just prefer to call it 'Mother's Day' that's all. Was not aware of any religious significance.

Happy MOTHER'S DAY to all.

Got a lay in until 6.55! (DH isn't well enough to get up with the kids at the mo.)

Molly had chosen me a sweet little jewellery box in the shape of a shoe and I had some flowers and various cards. I was treated to lunch at McDs :goodvibes (DH still on soup so it was quick and easy!)

Have a great day everyone

Happy Mothers day

I got some lovely flowers, lots of chocs, Brownie made pressie and card and a dozen golf balls :confused3 DH thought it was a good idea as I'm playing more now but as he's a pro I pinch his and anyway he gets them cheap from his shop so great pressie huh :rotfl2:

Apparently so the vicar said this morning, DD's are in the choir so have to go, that historically it was all about everyone going back to their home (Mother) Church to worship one day a year so it was called Mothering Sunday which then eventually became a celebration of our Mums! And you have to believe what a vicar says don't you :rotfl2:
