Happy Mickey-versary for 15 yrs! An Oct. 2011 PTR NEW: 11/13 Pretend Disney? & TRlink

Glad nothing was ruined in the basement incident. Yikes!

Lots of fun being had at school and I love the signs and stuff you made. Very cute!

To answer your question about how we made up the time, they added thirty minutes to each school day for five weeks, and they took a couple of other days off away from us. In retrospect, I am glad they did it that way, and we were able to get out on time.

UGH....a soggy basement is never fun. :sad2: At least nothing was ruined. :thumbsup2

no kidding and yes...

I love those autograph books. The ribbon with the beads is adorable! What a great idea!

thanks! The beads are the girls and just happened to be on my desk and it was like :idea: yeah! it works like a slide lock too

Sorry about the basement mess! :headache:

Congrats on your new baby niece!! :cutie: And for another successful Exploremore Day!! :thumbsup2

thanks, thanks, and thanks :goodvibes hoping to start putting my scrap room back together today...I have 150 pix waiting to get scrapping on including pix from WDW Jan :thumbsup2

I love your fall trip crafts... I hadn't even thought about doing a door sign since we usually stay off-site. I'll have to get to work planning something fun for the door of our villa. Can you send me your design?? It'll be our 15th too & I could change out the Halloween design for a MVMCP design and swap out the resort photo too. You are so much more creative than I am...

yes you bet sending it straight away!

By the way, I can tell your summer vacation has started... You wrote "new 6/11" in your title but today is only the 10th! :laughing:

:rotfl: whoops...I am already confused

joining in! love reading your plans so far! October looks like an awesome time to go!

:welcome: Yes we have never been in Oct. so I am really looking forward to it!

Glad nothing was ruined in the basement incident. Yikes!

thanks

Lots of fun being had at school and I love the signs and stuff you made. Very cute!

thanks and yes I alwasy have fun thinking of new things to do :goodvibes

that is very clever indeed! :thumbsup2

We have discussed DHS and AK’s park picks now let’s move on to EPCOT

epcotlogo.jpg

We both really enjoy this park and all that is has to offer, I am looking forward to Food and Wine of course and discovering more MAGIC and the details that do make this park so special, that we may not have an opportunity to see/do when the 4 kids are touring with us.

We have 2 planned touring times here during our 5 days:

Monday the 17th in the morning thru mid afternoon and Wednesday 19th in the evening

I have divided the Must See Do List & If Time list into 2 lists for Future World and World Showcase, let’s start w/ Future World:

FW-Must DO/See

SSE-of course this is a must do, it’s a given. This will be the first time in a LONG time we’ll actual ride together and especially since the updated technology at the end, now our futures will match ;)

TT- this is a fun ride, too bad we can’t get the whole car to ourselves…I’d like to go on this at night and maybe the morning too. We’ll have to watch the FP times.

Photo0333FourBySix.jpg

(3 of the kids and I other guests from Nov. ’10)

Soarin- I want to go on this more than once too if we can. I can smell the oranges already…

soarin.jpg

FW-If Time

Mission Space- green or orange?? Now I have never been on this, nor do I have an overwhelming urge too, so this is low on the list, I asked Matt and he’s says it’s only worth it orange…:scared1: I don’t know, I have no problems w/ TOT or the best of the best roller coasters that flip you, dip you, whatever…but for some weird reason this freaks me out….

MissionSpace_01c.jpg

Innoventions- not sure what we’d check out in here, so I need to read up on the options a bit more, but maybe find those email stations to send something to the kids…

WS-Must DO/See

Food/Wine booths (I am doing another whole post on this shortly)

foodwonebooth.jpg

Malestrom- this is one of Matt’s fav rides…I’m eh? For this…but hey you need to Stand by your Man huh? :rolleyes:

malestromboat.jpg

UK “Beatles” show…I always want to see them…so this is my chance, now if I can get Matt to dance w/ me?

epcot_beatles.jpg

****EDIT Well NEWS to me, thanks Gretchen, but sad, I had no idea the British Invansion had left, I can't believe i missed my chance. The new UK band is called British Airwaves, will play a mixture of famous UK muisc but more rock it seems and of course a whole new look...here is a link to some info on them that i found on Steve Soares entertainment site:

http://britishrockband.com/britishrockband.com/Home.html

This sounds more up Matt's alley of music taste than mine...oh well, if it works out timing wise, it could be fun!

WS-If Time

Reflections of China and/or Canada-we usually never seem to have time for these, so this would be a nice thing to take time to do

Other Info:

EMH-AM-n/a and PM Tues 18th (we’ll be at MNSSHP) I am hoping there would have been one on our EP evening…bummer.

Entertainment-Illuminations…it’s out to jury still if we actually sit to watch or just walk and watch, so question is are all the food kiosks/rides still running when this is going on like at MK?

Dining-all our dining will be in the F&W booths

So what do you think? Did I miss anything good?

J~

I love the signs and autograph books! May have to make my own sign for our door; I still have empty pages in last year's autograph book.

EPCOT...
TT- this is a fun ride, too bad we can’t get the whole car to ourselves…I’d like to go on this at night and maybe the morning too. We’ll have to watch the FP times.

We want to ride this 2 or 3 times as well. I think last time we went on at night, or very close to it.

Soarin- I want to go on this more than once too if we can. I can smell the oranges already…

soarin.jpg

Yup, we want to do this multiple times too. We rode it for the first time last year but only once, and it's my favorite ride tied with ToT.

I CANNOT ride things that spin. I have no problem with ToT. However, I did the green side with NO problems. I actually really liked it and am hoping to get Mom on it this time.

Innoventions- not sure what we’d check out in here, so I need to read up on the options a bit more, but maybe find those email stations to send something to the kids…

We want to spend some time in here as well.

WS-Must DO/See

Malestrom- this is one of Matt’s fav rides…I’m eh? For this…but hey you need to Stand by your Man huh? :rolleyes:

I'm with you. This ride was weird and I'm in no hurry to do it again.

UK “Beatles” show…I always want to see them…so this is my chance, now if I can get Matt to dance w/ me?

We enjoyed this.I'm sad The British Invasion is gone, but I'm excited to check the new band out.

WS-If Time

Reflections of China and/or Canada-we usually never seem to have time for these, so this would be a nice thing to take time to do

I prefer Canada over China, although China has really nice music.

Entertainment-Illuminations…it’s out to jury still if we actually sit to watch or just walk and watch, so question is are all the food kiosks/rides still running when this is going on like at MK?

I believe the rides/kiosks shut down at 9pm (or 10pm), whichever time IllumiNations starts.

So what do you think? Did I miss anything good?

J~

I also like the American Adventure and the Impressions de France movie (great music in that one!)

Funny - I was reading about you seeing the British Invasion & was going to post, then I scrolled down to find your edit. ;)

According to this article the new band is called "The English Channel" but is being renamed to "The British Revolution."

You should definitely give Mission Space a try. As long as you don't get motion sick you'll be OK. It freaked me out, but we all made it out fine. I did the green side with my mom & I thought it was just OK. Once I rode the orange side, I understood why people like it so much. Not that I'm anxious to ride it again anytime soon... :rolleyes1 I'm glad I rode it once & will probably be dragged on it again.

As you know Epcot is my favorite park! I'm sure you and Matt will get to enjoy a whole new side of it without the kids...so fun!

Reflections of China is worth seeing. It's a beautiful movie. Also, if you have not done the American Adventure in a while, we really enjoyed that. :) Morocco is my favorite country so I would suggest just strolling through there and checking out all the little hidden treasures!

I can take Maelstrom or leave it....:rolleyes1

I'm so with you on the Mission Space thing. Give me TOT any day! I'll be excited to hear how you liked it if you decide to be brave! :thumbsup2

Aww, I'm sorry about the British Invasion... I know they were a favorite of yours!

I'm another one who is "Meh" about Maelstrom, but we always seem to do it anyway!

Kathy

Love your Epcot plans.

Re: Mission Space. I absolutely love the orange side. The whole gravity/centrifugal force thing is a blast!

So when Rachel said she wanted to go on it, I knew it would mean the green side. I was expecting to be bored with it.

But it's still pretty cool! Now I know part of my reaction is b/c I enjoyed riding it with Rachel and seeing her enjoy it for the first time.

However, I still really liked it. I expected just to kind of sit there but the car still moves around and it is neat.

I suggest you definitely try it once ... esp since this is a no kids trip and you don't have to do rider switch, etc.

Also, can you tell me your Jan dates again? Our friends bailed on us and aren't coming now (they are doing DisneyLAND instead since her family lives nearby).

So I need to make our ressies next week...maybe we can try to work something out to overlap...

thanks :goodvibes I made really nice keepsake style autograph books for the 4 kids last yr and we have plenty of empty pages still.

I also like the American Adventure and the Impressions de France movie (great music in that one!)

thanks for all your comments and about the above movie...I know I have seen a few over the yrs...so we'll have to see what works out!

Yes I now notcied now they have two names and one for just Disney...

we'll see it really depends on Matt if he wants to ride w/ his neck and all...

No we haven't done AA in a while but not sure we will this trip either just because of the length...and yes i like Morocco too :thumbsup2

I can take Maelstrom or leave it....:rolleyes1

yes like I said to Amy above...we'll see ;)

I know stinky...

yes, :laughing: I just starting getting the family's picks for Jan '12 and of course it's on B's list...

Love your Epcot plans.

thanks :thumbsup2

that is the one huge advantage I see too Marsha that no kids are w/ us...so should be easy to fit in, my Rachel is not as daring as yours...;)

sorry about your friends...that stinks...but would beyond AWESOME if it works to see each other...We arrive on Sun 15th thru Thurs 19th...just 5 quick days...I am stating some actuall planning now for it, will be starting a PTR super soon too. :thumbsup2

All I can say is I rode MS before there were sides and will NEVER ride the orange side. It took my body several days to recover. I've never felt like that after a ride before but guess the spinning rides affect my aging body in a different way than they did my teen body. I do look forward to riding the green side with DD though. Although she may want to abandon me and go orange with DH and DS. However DS would probably be willing to switch.

:sad2:that doesn't sound good... that is my fear, maybe i can't just tolerate it like I can and like coasters...:confused:

Congrats!!! Madelyn has this one too. Wonder where I got it from?:rolleyes1

Your play day looks like it went off without a hitch! Well done! So sorry about your basement.:sad2:

Epcot plans!! I cannot wait for the F&W. We have booked a late lunch here at Le Cellier. I'm hoping that I'm able to get some kiosks in.

Ooh, Mission Space. I've only been on it once when they didn't have an orange and a green side. Sadly, I'll never go on again. It made me quite sick.:sick: Hopefully, you'll be able to pull through!

I was reading your post and thinking, I know that Julie must know about British Invasion. So sad, I hope that you enjoy the new act.

I love your Door Sign, too! Well done. I've gotten something from Marion before, really nice work!

THANKS! and no worries, it's almost all back together now...had to take apart the game/toy closet downstairs that has a false wall-entry under the stairs (Naomi-Ruth calls it the Potter room) to deal w/ leakage under there, but hey now the closet looks real neat that everything is back in nicely :thumbsup2 still have to deal w/ my scrap room and the storage room...

Last Park picks….MAGIC KINGDOM!

MKlogo.gif

My favorite park :cool1:

We’ll visit this park the most, just because it has the most to do and the great proximity to our resort of course too. We have at least 3 times planned for touring this park, w/ possibly one other quick stop…

Arrival day Sun 16th for a few hours till early closing for party that night

Tues 18th-MNSSHP

Departure day Thurs 20th for the Keys to the Kingdom Tour and some more general touring

Plus maybe a pop in for eve EMH on Mon 19th

Once again I have split the lists into two: Must/See and If Time. MK will probably have the loosest touring plans while we are in the park (w/ the exception of MNSSHP) so they will be more like GOALS and EXTRAS on those days/times.

Let’s take a look (I've included some favorite pixs from over the yrs on these rides:

MUST/See DO (GOALS) in no particular order

* POC

100_1647.jpg

* IASW

100_7973.jpg

* tea cups

100_2478.jpg

* PPF (probably need to FP)

100_2021.jpg

* new Mickey Magician meet and greet area

Photo0135FourBySix.jpg

* JC (at night)

I can't give too much away w/ this pic, but this is from my Spectrum Mom trip this past Jan :thumbsup2

* SWSA (hope it is still open)

100_1638.jpg

* Buzz

100_7680.jpg

* HM (but of course)

414.jpg

* carosuel (on MNSSHP)

100_1738.jpg

* railroad

100_2295.jpg

* peoplemover (at night)

100_8051.jpg

* NEW Tiki bird room

100_2061.jpg

* MNSSHP items (see other post)

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=40960058&postcount=223

IF TIME (EXTRAS)

* other character meet & greets

* laugh floor

OTHER info:

EMH’s-AM-n/a PM-Mon 19th till 12 am

Entertainment/Parades-regular Wishes 9 pm (would love to see special pre castle show Magic/Memories & You it was really cool when I got to see it in January, I know Matt would like it…unsure they would do this before Hallo-wishes and that we’d have time to catch it in the park on Mon night after our dinner…

Not planning on seeing MSEP or mid-day parade at 3:00 pm, but if it’s rolling by would stop to peek.

DINNING:

Of course MK is my favorite place to eat at…but we won’t actually have to many meals here this time…we’ll most like eat at CR/room before going into the park on Sun/Tues. We’ll have a lunch included at CHH w/ our tour (YUM we both love it here)…so it will be a lot of snacks and treats: MSB, Dole Whips, Fudge, maybe split some cheese fries or pretzel too. We are on our own OOP plan for food expenses so we’ll have to watch ourselves.

Well there you have it…our picks for each of the 4 parks and what we hope to do at each park…so now stay tuned for my Itinerary pages and touring plan cards!

Thanks for reading and commenting as always…

J~

I love your MK plans... and looking at all of your pictures.

I need to get through the rest of my park picks but life keeps getting in the way... only five more days of school including today!! :thumbsup2

100_1738.jpg

Aww...look at cute little Naomi Ruth! How time flies!

I know, she was so little her first trip...she reminds how she doesn't remember her "baby trip to Disney" :cutie: but we do she had a wonderful time!

I am very excited to hear what the new Tiki Room will be like -- I wonder if it will be just like the original one!

one can only hope right? I haven't been in there in a long time, Matt enjoys it and is thrilled Iago and Zuzu were evicted :rotfl:

I love your MK plans... and looking at all of your pictures.

thanks...the actual breakdown of touring is coming up! and I love looking back :goodvibes
