Oh my goodness how she's grown! How old was she here?

EMH’s-AM-n/a PM-Mon 19th till 12 am
Really want to do these, too. Still trying to convince our other travel party to get hoppers.:rolleyes1

It looks like you're going to have a lot of good time in this park! Cannot wait for our DISmeet!!! I'm so excited!!:yay:

Gotta love your MK plans!!

BTW, how did Naomi-Ruth like HDDR? We are considering going (Jerry and I have gone but not the kids) again in 2012 or 2013. I know Rachel would love it but Elizabeth would be 2.75 in 2012 so not sure if we should wait until she is older.

Advantage of going in Jan is she is FREE!!

Whew! Caught up via your links. Have loved going thru your plans, you are one organized Mom! :worship: Your MNSSHP autograph book looks great... I can't decide if I should do a custom one like that or get a Mickey journal notebook like our other one.... :confused3

Nice MK plans! I've only known the Tiki Room the way it is now so it will be interesting to see the "original".

Naomi-Ruth was 18 months for her first trip...she did amazingly well...toward the end she was getting tired from distrurbed naps and such, plus this was the time period when the food issues kicked into high gear, her poor little body was covered in agravated excemna from the heat andd food we were feeding her unknowingly how much "damage: it was causing...upon returning from Disney she went off all dairy, w/ in months most of wheat and w/in a yr no egg and all gluten...

anyways sorry tangent

YES I am super excited to meet you and your family...how old will your sweet girl be in Oct?

thanks!

like the free advatange...NR got two trips in under 3 :cool1: she did great (4 yrs so still a little older than your E) the chefs were great w/ the food and dessert, she didn't think it was too loud and maintained her attention the whole time :thumbsup2 and do you remember why she found out why little kids don't drink sangria ;)

Bless her little heart. She seems to take it all in stride though. No apologies for speaking, I'm sure it was difficult on you and Matt as well.

Madelyn will be 16 months. I'm really going into this blind, i.e. she's never been on a vacation before that will disrupt her schedule, so I'm slightly nervous. I am a schedule freek when it comes to her. I probably need to relax a bit more.:rolleyes1 I think that just making sure that we get a midday break is essentail so she can rest. If you have any other suggestions, being a fabulous mother of 4, I'm open to them!

aww thanks...I don't always say I am a fabulous mother so that is sweet... I will think about what I think are the essential tips for taking a young one to Disney (based on my own experiences and from others) and get back to you :thumbsup2

Itinerary Day 1) Sunday October 16th Arrival Day

“ It all Started with a Mouse” Day

Main Activities: arrival/check-in/MK

So our flight out of Midway (smaller of two Chicago airports…little further from home, but we like it and SWA) is scheduled for 7 am…since we leave on a Sunday morning I think my Mom will spend the night for sure for the kids (she is watching them) and we’ll pick up my Dad driving us to airport on the way (if he doesn’t sleep at our house too)…

Wake-up call will most likely be 3:30 am ish and want to be at airport a little after 5 am…I like to be early (makes me less nervous...I'm not a nervous flyer just getting there and getting on plane).

We are scheduled to arrive in Orlando (MCO) by 10:35 am which gives me my ETA to arrive at BLT by 12 noon (pending no flight delays). Maybe even sooner too…:genie:

Once arriving at CR/BLT we will check-in and check our carry-on bags...I am not counting on the room being ready…but you never know and hey maybe we’ll get a view upgrade being our anniversary and all…

We’ll most likely grab food at the Contempo Café and then head over to MK!

As long as we have no delays we’ll still get up to 6 hrs in the park (1-7 pm)

Here is my touring goal card for the afternoon/evening:

Oct2011MKafternoon.jpg

card design is courtesy of MRYPPNS (Heidi)

After MK, we’ll walk back over to BLT and check out our room and get settled in. Things on the list to try and do for the evening are:

* Go up to the Top of the World Lounge and watch Hallo-wishes @ 9:30 pm and have a late night snack/drink at the little restaurant up there.

* Hot tub if weather is nice

And well….There you have it, Day 1)

Thanks for reading J~

I'm the same way. I have no problem with flying but since missing a flight can cause a lot of problems I'm a bundle of nerves until I get on that plane.

Love your touring card. I was just planning on handwriting some for DS to keep in his bag and check throughout the week.

I had just come upstairs shortly after 8 pm last night after watching BOLT w/ the girls (I got teary eyed when Penny and Bolt were reunited :sad1:) when I noticed I had recieved a text from DisMomAmy about a SWA sale and that my Oct return flight was down to $80 :cool1: now if I could just figure out how to get that CREDIT :thumbsup2

I decided to call Amy up and had gotten a text from my Mom as well it looked like "R U watching..." and I was thinking Cub/Sox game...but really it was R U watching the weather...some nasty storms were approching. I was talking to Amy trying to figure out what's up w/ SWA (wouldn't let me change it online) when I hear:

TORNADO SIRENS

are you serious.... I'm "Girls! in the basement NOW!!! get Maggie (our dog) and get down there..." I hang up on Amy :guilty: and for the next 45 minutes wait it out...of course our power is going in and out and can't find a single working flashlight anywhere and it's pitch black in the basement (the working flashlights are of course w/ Matt and Nathan at Scout camp )

I bring down the kids' flashing Mickey Head wands :goodvibes that and periodic book reading and old scrapbook (old WDW trips of course...Bekah's like "there was an Aladdin Parade?" and "what's a super 3 park 4 day pass?":rotfl: looking in between power outs, we managed just find...no real Tornados in our immediate area (or "tomatos" as Naomi-Ruth calls them :cutie:) but some major crazy winds (75 mph + clocked just 3 minutes from our home)

Amy texted me to see if we were ok around 9:15 pm and we had just recieved the siren all clear. I called her, my Mom and Matt.

THEN....

I attempted calling SWA about trying to get a credit, after getting the girls to bed and was on hold for about 20+ minutes when my power went out again

I tired calling again later and was tired and tired of being on hold...so I hung up, hoping not to regret that decision later :guilty:

Now to this morning...I had to call SWA 3 times before even getting thru and had to wait on hold for a little while till someone answered, a nice lady named Amanda (we talked about the storms too) took my call...I also realized last night that Matt's name was misspelled on the ressie. He typed Matther not Matthew

after being on the phone for just under 30 minutes we got my flight rebooked w/ a $45 credit remanining :cool1: that I can use for my Jan ticket...but something was screwy w/ Matt's flight and they couldn't get his funds released to rebook...so he had no flight :scared1: (our original ressie was us together but we had to book 1 at time for the credit)

they said they needed to call me back...little nervous...so I waited :bored: anxiously for a return call and luckily another 30 min later everything was all good for Matt he was rebooked and getting a $45 voucher for him to use for his Jan flight

:yay:almost $100 credit!!!!

they linked our two NEW confirmation #'s together so when the time comes to get boarding passes we shouldn't have a problem.

it was a pixiedust: miracle I tell you

Your day one plans look great!! :thumbsup2

And I'm soooo glad everything worked out with Southwest & the storm. You had me worried for a little while last night!

Day 1 looks very nice...except for that 3:30 a.m. wake up!!

Glad you were able to get the SWA credit and get Matt's ticket straightened out. Also glad that ya'l are OK. We had high winds and rain at our house last night too.

Nice touring card sista! Looks like a good start to your vacation :thumbsup2

We'll be waking up nice and early too, around 3am, to hopefully get to the airport around 4-4:30am, our flight leaves at 6. I am a nervous flyer, but I worry about getting through security and stuff too-my license only has my first initial on it and I always worry a bit that that will cause me problems at security.

I noticed I had recieved a text from DisMomAmy about a SWA sale and that my Oct return flight was down to $80 :cool1: now if I could just figure out how to get that CREDIT :thumbsup2

I found out on the Y&BC thread, of all places

Story of my life with the flashlights.

Woah-scary winds! My parents don't have many photos from the trip they took in the late 80s and my first two trips in the early 90s, but I think there might be one or two with the told Mickey parade, where everything was big balloons.

I couldn't change mine online either; was it telling you that there were "modifications to your reservation that prevent it from being changed online"? I thought it was because just my first initial is on my ticket, but then someone on facebook said the website was experiencing some trouble anyway. When I called I was told the estimated wait would be between 27-42 minutes. OK, I don't have anything else to do! So I put the phone on speaker and hung out for 32 minutes. :rotfl: I spoke to an awesome guy named Tony, who was able to override for me, and now I have $120 in credits-that will come in handy for our grad school trip in January! And my Earlybird check in stayed put as well! :thumbsup2

Oh I have never missed a flight, but I just like getting there ;)

Love your touring card. I was just planning on handwriting some for DS to keep in his bag and check throughout the week.

thanks...it has taken me awhile to find something I really like, sounds like a great plan for your son :goodvibes

Your day one plans look great!! :thumbsup2

thanks Amy! actually quite easy to just plan for 2 people :thumbsup2

And I'm soooo glad everything worked out with Southwest & the storm. You had me worried for a little while last night!

me too...thanks again for the heads up and help and sorry to scare you

Day 1 looks very nice...except for that 3:30 a.m. wake up!!

I know seriously huh?

thanks...bit of a headache but ended well! and yeah those high winds can be a pain...these weren't as bad as some other's we've had...don't like those sirens

Nice touring card sista! Looks like a good start to your vacation :thumbsup2

thank you :worship: I hope so...can't wait! getting closer and closer

I guess it is a given being sleepy on Day 1) ...the adrenaline of arriving keeps you going though :thumbsup2

good luck w/ your security check!

YES that was the same thing i had...I was just hanging out waiting too (on the Dis too) :surfweb:

that is a great credit...when is your jan trip?

that is a great credit...when is your jan trip?

We know we will be heading down for 4 days somewhere between 8-14. We plan to fly into Jacksonville or Tampa, and fly out of the other. I am going to be checking out University of Florida in Gainesville (about 1.5 hours from Jacksonville) and University of South Florida in Tampa. I'm very excited!

So glad you guys are okay! :goodvibes We had some strong winds here as well, but we were JUST south enough of the storm to miss the brunt of it! For once, being almost too south to even call my town a suburb was worth it! Our lights flickered but we never lost power. Did you hear that there are still over a hundred thousand people without power?!

Wasn't last night just crazy!! Most of Elmhurst is still without power, thankfully ours just flickered on and off a few times.

First day looks great, the benefit of the early flight is the park time you can get on the first day. I can't do that with the kids, don't think I could get them all up and out that early. ;)

Love the idea of Hallo-wishes from TOWL. It's a great show.

:goodvibes yes there seems to be pockets all over, several traffic lights out in the area one right around the corner from us making quite a mess of traffic...we have a generator so that's makes me feel a bit secure for the pump and fridge but be horrible to still be out a day later...
