Happy Mickey-versary for 15 yrs! An Oct. 2011 PTR NEW: 11/13 Pretend Disney? & TRlink

It's so cool that your mall still has a Disney store. Ours closed down and I'm bummed everytime I go passed it.

naomi looks so cute in her ariel dress and love what she said about the tea set!! It would make a very cute birthday present...

The muppet shirt is adorable, too.

hey welcome home :goodvibes thanks for thinking of Rachel and sending her a postcard from WDW from Rachel...so sweet. she loved it :cutie: and wanted to know all about these rides your Rachel went on

yes there are still 3-4 in the general mall areas plus some huge one downtown in Chicago. But we too have had several close down in other malls...I do have to drive a little ways hence I usally just go online.

and thanks, the girls love their new things (and Nathan too)

OMG, I haven't been on in so long. I'm spending the afternoon catching up.

Can I just say that Naomi-Ruth has the most beautiful smile? She looks so happy in every picture.

I'm going to have to add the big Disney Store to our next Chicago trip. Where exactly is that one? I don't want to get confused and go to a small one. :rotfl:

Both of my kids would freak out if there was a Lotso in our house. They were just agreeing the other day (yes, I think Hell may have frozen over) that they couldn't understand why anybody would want such an evil toy. :lmao:

But still in the store as we were looking around, she spotted this:

That looks like the perfect birthday present for your little cutie!

Sounds like a fun time! (x2)

What great outings, aren't we lucky to have TDS and Doorway to Dreams local? We usually forget to bring our lanyards though when we go, Deirdre loves to trade so we'll have to remember next time.

We had that same tea set, it was well played with. It looks like a great b-day gift. NR was too funny though!

Love that tshirt from Old Navy, might have to try and check out our local one tomorrow and see if they have it. I think you color scheme matches our weather, been very grey and rainy so much lately.

LOVE your two shopping days, I really love the flag mickey head shirt and water bottle bag. And how lucky are you to have that extra special store to visit your home away from home, very cool

ooooh, I wish we had a Disney store near us! There may be one 100 miles from here in St. Louis, but I'm not even sure of that! Yay for Disney mini-day! (and Starbucks! Mmmmmm)

the really BIG one is in downtown Chicago on Michagan Ave (I am pretty sure or State Street?) but basically where all the shooping is in the city...otherwise the 2nd mall I went too is called Woodfield mall it is HUGE and is in Schamburg about 30 minutes or so west of Chicago :thumbsup2

I know seriously I wouldn't have had my Mom bought him if it wasn't for the fact Nathan has a collection of Toy story toys...but I did find him yesterday trapped under a crate w/ Woody on top...should have taken a pix :rotfl:

I know I will have to get that!

I haven't gone in a long time...so it was fun!

Before I get back to Disney thought I’d share just a bit of what has been going on around here…

We celebrated Memorial Day by attending our local parade and both Nathan and Bekah marched w/ their Middle School marching band (Bekah actually plays the cello, so she had fun participating by being a flag bearer)

Here they are before we left in the morning:

And our crew on the parade route:

100_0119.jpg

you can see how ready my SIL is to give birth should be any day now...we hope AND yes NR wasn't in the picture mood yet

100_0120.jpg

and someone forgot to put some friz-ease in her hair today....

We lucked out wonderfully that a train came just as the Band turned the corner and they were stopped right in front of us, so we got to see both of the twins great!

100_0128.jpg

N is the middle trombone player

And I just had to share my Red-White-and Blue rice krispies I made for the Scout Picnic…Nathan is a Boy Scout and normally would march w/ his troop in the parade (over 100 boys!)

100_0113.jpg

In other happenings…Bekah had her last 6th grade orchestra concert as well:

100_0067.jpg

And Nathan had his last 6th grade band concert…I am unsure if he’ll be continuing or not for 7th grade yet.

Also over Memorial Day weekend we spent a rainy day at one of the Forest preserves opening weekend w/ my brother they had extra activities out for the day…Naomi-Ruth didn’t want to go on the pony rides but had no issues holding this:

100_0103.jpg

(That is a sucker in her mouth BTW)

And yesterday was Exploremore day at the grammar school where Rachel attends. It was 10 months of planning co-chaired by myself and a committee that all came together in one great day at school. I unfortunately forgot my camera…so as soon I get some pixs from the parent photographer I’ll share some!

But I do have one of Rachel in her fleece Pillows class that I took off my phone:

IMG00100.jpg

see I snuck a bit of Disney in there...

School will be over in just 3 ½ days for us and then full onto summer for us….I am looking forward to a good one! Plus probably right after the 4th of July I will start another PTR for our family trip in January so stay tuned for more Disney planning, crafting, and other family fun! :goodvibes popcorn::

Thanks

J~

Looks like you had a great Memorial Day weekend! I bet you're glad Exploremore Day is over!! Such a huge event to run... :worship:

We have 12 more days of school and Alex has four more field trips!! They have a lot at the end of 4th grade. One of them if Field Day this Tuesday so I'm crossing my fingers for good weather!! We go off to a local YMCA camp & they get to swim & do a whole bunch of outdoor activities, as well as fun team games.

Good luck as you transition into summer vacation!! :goodvibes

Looks like a great Memorial Day weekend! Congrats on what I'm sure was another fabulous Exploremore Day! :thumbsup2

My older boys both decided not to pursue instrumental music next year. :sad2: Dan has been playing bassoon for 7 years and Isaiah has been playing flute for 5. I'm kind of sad, but they just have moved on in their interests. I hope Nathan keeps playing!

The end of the school year is always so hectic -- I wasn't sure if I was going to survive this year or not.

Thanks -- we loved Tybee and the beach cottage. We really didn't want to leave -- it was so nice having such a great place to spread out, and the island, itself, was just darling! :goodvibes

What a great Memorial Day weekend!
I can't believe school is over for your kids this week. We don't end until the 23rd. :scared:

What is Exploremore Day?

so I had this whole post ready and then got distracted by dinner and didn't have time to post it to the Dis on Wed night, when then in the middle of the night our power went out in a storm (a nd hence i lost the post) :headache: plus we got major seepage and needed to pull up carpeting and padding to dry out... so my basement is a major mess zone:

thanks Missy it was, everyone really commented on how nice it ran and I even got a shout out in the Principal's final letter to the school!

Yes we have decided not to push it for him for 7th. I feel more opportunities to grow/ learn will be coming but he has had his fill :sad2: oh well hopefully he'll find a new interest that really suits him in the coming years...

What a great Memorial Day weekend!

wow that is late...is it because of snow days or do NY schools get out that late all the time?

What is Exploremore Day?

It is a fun day for all the students/staff where the kids get to rotate to 6 diff fun classes or activities during their normal school day and just really have a ton of fun. It takes us about 10 months to plan it all out...here are some pixs from the day to get an idea, the last one is of me and my planning committee:

Before all that basement disastor and my scrapbook room becoming a mjor mess...I did manage to finsih up a few things for the October trip! Here are just a few quick pixs to share:

I created this cool
sign for our door at BLT:

100_0176.jpg

I first found a bunch of fun images from DISigner Marion (RustManFan) on her PB site and used those plus a few other images I found and created a collage using Publisher and printed on the sign, I colored in some of the stars in the bacground and then made this big lime green Dis Mickey head background for it :thumbsup2

I also made two very cool autograph/picture books for MNSSHP:

100_0177.jpg

100_0181.jpg

Once again I used some images from online and the DISigns. I added the fun colored beads and black ribbon to hold the book together. I plan to give one of these books away too...so stay tuned to see how you may be able to win it :cool1:

I have a few other things I hope to do still too...

* another cute anniversary sign for our door

* Matt has come up w/ a very funny matching shirt idea design

* putting Matt in charge of something cool for our window at BLT

stay tuned for those plus more planning fun...our EPCOT park pix's, TOP 5 List, and my itinerary pages....Plus the costume reveal :cool1:

J~

UGH....a soggy basement is never fun. :sad2: At least nothing was ruined. :thumbsup2

I love those autograph books. The ribbon with the beads is adorable! What a great idea!

Sorry about the basement mess! :headache:

Congrats on your new baby niece!! :cutie: And for another successful Exploremore Day!! :thumbsup2

I love your fall trip crafts... I hadn't even thought about doing a door sign since we usually stay off-site. I'll have to get to work planning something fun for the door of our villa. Can you send me your design?? It'll be our 15th too & I could change out the Halloween design for a MVMCP design and swap out the resort photo too. You are so much more creative than I am...

By the way, I can tell your summer vacation has started... You wrote "new 6/11" in your title but today is only the 10th!
