Happy Mickey-versary for 15 yrs! An Oct. 2011 PTR NEW: 11/13 Pretend Disney? & TRlink

My only addition would be Muppets too, but we are big Muppet fans. I like the idea of catching some of the streetmosphere characters, definitely unique and something you probably wouldn't take the time to do with the kids.

As for shopping, the new SW shop will be open, The Writer's Stop at NY St could be neat or Animation Gallery in Animation Courtyard has animation cels and other art - pricey but fun to browse.

Love the Animation Academy idea, never done it. Wonder if it might work for us in June, wonder how Daniel would do with it. Any opinion?

Definitely worth some fun! and don't forget a treat from Starring Rolls bakery!

Yes we should grab something to go...YUM! still need to try the Butterfinger cupcake

it might be a nice respite from the heat  Nathan hasn't done it...though I think he may enjoy it as long as he doesn't get frustrated...he enjoys drawing and has taken a few park district drawing classes...I'd cheat and bring an eraser for him though :rolleyes1

Happy Pre- Halloween…

HalloweenParty2008-07.jpg

Yesterday tickets went on sale for MNSSHP and I called today to purchase mine. I needed to call DVC member services to order them (w/ our discount). The CM I had was friendly but it took awhile to get it done. After being on the phone for 15 minutes (good thing it is an 800 # I am calling)…I got my tickets for $112.80, (savings of just under $9.00 but hey every little bit helps) they will be waiting for us at the Concierges desk upon arrival.

So what am I looking forward too?

* Dressing up in costume-Matt and I have been plan these outfits for quite some time…but you’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out what we’ll be wearing

* The Mickey’s Boo-To You parade-the pictures look so neat, I love a parade and often we don’t always have time for the mid day character parade so this will be quite the treat! We’ll plan to do the 2nd parade hopefully at 10:30 pm.

We’ll definitely want to see him:

Get our Pirate Groove on:
Boo-to-You_Halloween_Parade_14.jpg

And ooh dance w/ the Spooky Ghosts too:
Boo-to-You_Halloween_Parade_22.jpg

Of course can’t wait to see this float:
Boo-to-You_Halloween_Parade_37.jpg

* The special Halo-Wishes of course can’t wait for…I love me some great Castle fireworks!

Other special things:

* Trick or Treating: I have read guests to the party receive special trick or treat bags but I hope we can find a few more as purchases to bring home to the kids…and YUM free Candy at Disney!

* The Villain Mix and Mingle: I really want to try and do this if we put ourselves in the right position on the parade route we can just scoot over to the forecourt of the Castle for the last Mingle…thinking this would be the least crowded.

Hope the times are the same as this sign shows:
P01-0002.jpg

Not sure we’ll try and line up for character photos..but would want Malicifent (of course)

* Other characters meet and greets too, based on the 2010 appearances I’d love to try and catch these guys:

The 7 Dwarfs (near WTP ride)

Any of the Fab 5 in costume (have to see where they will be on new map)

CIMG9335.jpg

Mickey_and_Minnie.jpg

Winnie the Pooh and Gang in costume (front of flag on MS)

DSC01991.jpg

I hope this is out for a picture opportunity too:

carriage.jpg

* And course the rides (thinking we’ll do most of the rides before the party officially starts)…

Based on the 2010 map we’ll try and do these for sure:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted Mansion
Peter Pan’s Flight
Snow White Scary Adventures (hope it’s still open)
? tea cups?
Buzz
Peoplemover
And maybe I can snag a solo run on BTMRR

* Special touches:
Since I know I am going to see a TON of my fellow Disers this night like (exwdwcm, dekkerdisenydreamer, and more)… I am planning to make up some special Dis-meet Halloween pins (at least that is my plan right now) to give away!

Also I hope to make a fun Halloween autograph/photo book for any characters we meet and then I can add in other pictures from the event too!

Of course I will show you the goodies once I get started on them…

 If you have been before or are going this yr…share your favorite memories/tips! I figure Matt and I can accomplish a lot since we have not children w/ us and want to focus on the Party things you normally don’t get to see or do on a regular Mk night!

Stay tuned for more Disney planning fun soon and my AK park picks…

Scrappie J~

Hey Julie!

:cool1::cool1:I just purchased our tickets for MNSSHP today!:banana: We were able to get the AP discount, so we saved about $25 for all of our tickets.

All of your plans look awesome, I can't wait for the official times to come out. I know that we'll really want to do EVERYTHING, but, I know there will be limits with a 16 month old. In order of importance, we'd like to do the following:

1. Boo to You Parade
2. Hallowishes
3. DIS MEET!
4. Character pics, especially the Seven Dwarfs!
5. Villans Mix n' Mingle
6. Candy Trails
7. Rides

Since we're going to be in this park all day, I'm not too concerned about the rides. We want to be able to soak up all of the Halloween experiences considering this will be an experience that we won't be able to duplicate. I have no idea about costumes.:confused3 It'll be easier to come up with ideas for Madelyn, but for Rick and I?? I'll have to noodle that one. I'll also have to come up with something special for the DIS meet. I can't wait to see what your talents come up with!:goodvibes

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are wearing costumes :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I love to wear costumes too, my DH doesn't, but he said if we ever make a MNSSHP he might

Love all your plans for the party, can't wait to see all the fun scrappie things you come up with (for buttons and special halloween things)

you just got me even more excited for the party. this will be our first time at it- although we've done MVMCP many times. The parade looks amazing- i think that and Hallowishes is what I am looking forward to the most.

can't wait to find out what your costumes are!

I'm with exwdwcm....I am now way super excited about MNSSHP!!! I can't wait! Your list of things to do looks super fun. I too am excited about the Boo to you parade...especially the Headless Horseman. :)

Even thought we didn't stay all that late, I have fond memories from the party in 2007. I think you guys will love it!

* Trick or Treating: I have read guests to the party receive special trick or treat bags but I hope we can find a few more as purchases to bring home to the kids…and YUM free Candy at Disney!

The trick or treat bags are just printed plastic with handles. I think one side has an ad on it for whatever DVD is coming out.

I personally didn't go out of my way for the candy lines....better things to do with your time. I didn't do the 7 dwarf picture thing but I've read that it's good to get in line for it before 7pm so you can get thru it quickly once the party starts.

What are you doing for dinner this night?

It's driving me crazy not knowing what costumes are in the works!

We just grabbed a quick and early CS meal that night... Casey's, I think. Worked out great!

Kathy

We are going to MNSSHP for the first time ever!!! I am SOOOOOO EXCITED!!! buuut I have NO idea that to wear for costumes:confused3 I'm thinking about either 80s fashion, or a flapper, but the problem is DH. I don't know what he could wear to match? I cannot wait to see what you chose. I am excited about the characters and the parade and wishes most of all.

Julie, we LOVE MNSSHP! Not sure if it's in the budget this year, but we're hoping so! My absolute favorite thing is the parade! I'm NOT a parade person, really, I don't adore any of the other parades, but Boo-to-you is different and I adore it!

We get there a little early (you can get in at 4pm with your MNSSHP tickets), ride some rides, eat, and then once the party starts we can focus on just party stuff if we want. We save trick-or-treating for very last, unless we happen upon a really short line, they tend to give out a lot more near the end of the night! Hallowishes is great as well, I really hope we get to go this year, it's one of my favorite memories!

5. Villans Mix n' Mingle

7. Rides

your list looks pretty similar to mine...the rides will be secondary as mostly I want to experience the rides in costume (pictures) ;)

I have no idea about costumes.:confused3 It'll be easier to come up with ideas for Madelyn, but for Rick and I?? I'll have to noodle that one.

Oh we'll be full out  I know some families do a theme around their child or the kids dress up and the adults were Halloween shirts...I say whatever allows you to feel comfortable and in the Spirit of the day!

I'll also have to come up with something special for the DIS meet. I can't wait to see what your talents come up with!:goodvibes

:cool1: thanks I'll have a special treat too for Madelyn looking forward to meeting your Princess...we'll have to talk about where/when to meet :thumbsup2

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are wearing costumes :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

thanks Jess...the kids are quite jealous ;)

I love to wear costumes too, my DH doesn't, but he said if we ever make a MNSSHP he might

haven't dressed up since twins were in K and when we were a young married couple (not that we are old) but seriously this will be good FUN!

Love all your plans for the party, can't wait to see all the fun scrappie things you come up with (for buttons and special halloween things)

thanks! that is what of the other fun parts of planning a trip to Disney the creative touches :goodvibes

you just got me even more excited for the party. this will be our first time at it- although we've done MVMCP many times. The parade looks amazing- i think that and Hallowishes is what I am looking forward to the most.

our first time too Michelle...glad I have you excited! Yes I am really looking forward to Hallowishes too :pixiedust

can't wait to find out what your costumes are!

in due time...have to work on them first then start the reveal

I'm with exwdwcm....I am now way super excited about MNSSHP!!! I can't wait! Your list of things to do looks super fun. I too am excited about the Boo to you parade...especially the Headless Horseman. :)

Me too the headless horseman looks way cool...I read shomwhere he stops at two points along the route as he starts the parade have to find that again and write it down! when are you attending it again?

Even thought we didn't stay all that late, I have fond memories from the party in 2007. I think you guys will love it!

thanks Amy...there are so many things I am looking forward to on this trip it is impossible to rank them :goodvibes

The trick or treat bags are just printed plastic with handles. I think one side has an ad on it for whatever DVD is coming out.

I figured so , but the kids will like it :thumbsup2

I personally didn't go out of my way for the candy lines....better things to do with your time.

Oh yes I agree, but since we'll be dressed to the nines or thriteens  I want to do it once for the picture (you know me and my pictures ;))

I didn't do the 7 dwarf picture thing but I've read that it's good to get in line for it before 7pm so you can get thru it quickly once the party starts.

thanks for that tip:thumbsup2 yes we'll have to make lots of prioritizing for this block of time...

What are you doing for dinner this night?

don't have a in stone plan yet...but figuring on a few things...we'll have had 1) a big lunch at DHS earlier in the day, 2) I'd prefer to grab a snack at BLT/CR before changing and heading over, and 3) I think we had better eat anything significant before 7 pm...maybe grab and go while standing in line ??? OR 4) if we don't eat before arriving at MK (want to be there around 4 pm) then eat right after entering park.

thoughts?

It's driving me crazy not knowing what costumes are in the works!

sorry but not really  I am actually quite proud of myself I have yet to let it slip to anyone

We just grabbed a quick and early CS meal that night... Casey's, I think. Worked out great!

Kathy

good thought Kathy!

The party sounds like a blast! Can't wait to hear about the super-secret costumes! ;)

:goodvibes in due time...

what party date are you attending? and I love your ideas! oh the 80's my sister and I have saved a few of our classic 80's sweaters for if ever needed for such a thing...will DH dress up? 80's may be the easist for him to match into w/out going to over the top!

I cannot wait to see what you chose. I am excited about the characters and the parade and wishes most of all.

thanks! I think the same thing...it will be a fun night!

I am shooting for that 4 pm hour in our plans too and I like the idea of the TnT till the end...that was my thought too :thumbsup2, hope it will work out for you during your trip to attend the party or at least maybe see Hallowishes from outside the park

I'm really not 100% sure yet. More than likely it will be Friday, Oct. 21. Even though it is one of the parties not discounted, it is really the one that fits our schedule best. I am waiting a while to buy tix though.

so are you making your own costumes? I am so not a sewer- i can't even sew on a button! I have a cute lime green (dis green!) t-shirt with a black silhouette minnie witch or something on it i can wear- not sure we will dress up or not. i think DS is going in his Peter Pan costume!

Don't forget the 'special' photo-ops:
MNSSHPghostpic.jpg

We had an amazing time at MNSSHP in 2008. The parade is absolutely my favorite, so much so we almost paid to go to a second party during our trip. The fireworks and Villian show are great too. We didn't get the photo with the dwarfs because the kids were into the trick-or-treating. The candy bags are little plastic things that didn't even have a Halloween themen when we were there but I had made my own. They were selling totally cute bags in the hotel gift shops though, it was a black twill with a Mickey ghost appliqued on the front with some wording embroidered too (they're packed away in the Halloween bin so I can't look at them. If I find a pic I'll send it to you.

Someday I hope to make it down again during that time of year.......

I agree going w/ what fits your schedule bests helps...for us it was a no brainer which day to pick w/ only being there 4 nights...hence why I bought the tix immediately too...hope you have a Spooky good time ;)

Yes and No...I'll need to alist some help...I don't sew either =, DH is the domestic goddess in that department ..I'd like to wear a themed shirt too one of the days we are out for some fun Halloween/Fall pixs in the park!

thanks AM...I know I want to bring back something halloween-ish for the kids!

Someday I hope to make it down again during that time of year.......

I am excited this is my first time going during this time of the yr...and I know we like to bring the kids down during the fall...just when is the question

Just wanted to post -- "hey, that's Nathan at Hoop De Doo!!""

I'm glad you sent that photo to All Ears -- it definitely was a winner!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
