Based on many recommendations on this forum I contacted Happy Limo today and to my surprise they are not all that happy after all. They would not budge or anything on their rates and I told them they were one of the highest out there.

They said they would match it if I provide the following:

1) Exact make and model of the van FL Tours is using
2) They year the van was made
3) It must be a 2008 or newer model

For me to get this information is nearly impossible! I saved the chat if anyone would like to see it but at this point I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Hopefully Happy Limos reads the forums to see what customers are saying.

I cannot make a decision for anyone else but they are just not for us. I am very customer service oriented and all they did was bash everyone else which is not professional in my opinion. FL Tours it is for us.

We are a large group coming into MCO the evening before our Feb 20 cruise and sleeping in Port Canaveral. We reached out to Happy Limo for a quote for a minibus to take us round-trip, and they didn't get back to us. Go figure. We're using a local Cocoa Beach service instead and got a great rate. I wonder if some transitional stuff is going on at Happy Limo?

I am on with Spaceport based in Port Canaveral and will keep everyone posted.

Cindy who did you use?

In 2009 Happy Limo matched my quote from another company with no problems at all. We were planing on using them this year. I will have to see. You can click my trip report in my signature to see what we got.

I booked a limo through them and had to reschedule and thought they were nice. I realized they were a little more expensive BUT there were a couple of expenses other companies charged in the fine print - like a $10 airport fee in the fine print of Southern Elegance which brings their $170 rate up to $180 - the same as HL. Also, at least for a limo, Happy Limo can accomodate more luggage - 5 suitcases and 6 carryons for a total of 11 pieces. Other companies only accomodate 7 pieces max. When I asked HL about this, she said they don't have a passenger seat up front with the driver. This means that in their limos, they can fill that space with additional luggage. When you factor that in it makes them reasonable.

I suppose that if you already know you can get a better deal with another company, why would you call the first company and expect them to completely honor it unless they were sure you were compairing the same things - or you really felt that the first company would do a better job but wanted the cheaper company's price???

I was doing a comparison and many recommended Happy Limo and said they match rates so I gave them a shot but they quickly turned us down (meaning would not match the rate). It was only a difference of $21.00 so I could care less about the money but it was the principle and I did not like that they bashed everyone else and made mention that FL Tours cars would break down and we could miss our cruise. That's nonsense

I have no knowledge of either company, but I don't understand your beef with them. Is it that they didn't automatically roll over and give you the price you wanted to pay? It makes sense that if they have a better product (nicer & newer vans) then they would charge more than a company that has a lesser product. It makes sense to get a price match you need to compare apples to apples. In many ways you get what you pay for and obviously you were not willing to pay for it. Enjoy you ride with FL Touring! I'm sure they will be just fine.

Yeah, that would have been the straw for me... Their car could break down too.... (trust me I have had a car service car break down it happens)

If you have to "trash" the competitors to get business why??? You can just nicely say "I am sorry I can't meet that price" No big deal.

Thanks for the heads up.

A couple years ago FL Tours underwent a management (or possibly ownership) change and had a lot of problems for a few months. That seems to have resolved, and I haven't read or experienced any problems since then.

It is there business and thus there perogative to name their rates and stick with them. If you have found a better rate for comparable service, you are free to go elsewhere. I don't see why this would lead you to advise people to "STAY AWAY."

I last used HL in 2008 and I wasn't thrilled with them. Their vehicles were very nice and we were upgraded (I had booked a towncar) on all three legs. The interactions with the drivers, however, left us scratching our heads and left us wanting to try another service next time we need it.

MCO-Universal - we were picked up in a limo :woohoo: but we were rushed at our scheduled 1/2 hr grocery stop. At 20 minutes in, we started heading to the checkout only to see our driver running through the store telling us we were late and we should already be back on the road. :confused3 He dropped us off at our hotel, threw our bags out of the trunk, and sped off without closing the trunk lid. :scared1: We just watched him speed off, trunk lid flapping, our jaws hitting the ground. :lmao:

Universal-POR - I think this was fairly uneventful. We were picked up in an SUV.

POR-Sanford airport - We were picked up in a van. This trip was the kicker. We were in DTD when I got a call from HL that they were picking us up early. As in - "we'll be there to pick you up in 20 minutes instead of an hour from now". Ummmm, no you won't - you might get there in 20 minutes but we'll be there to meet you in about an hour. The dude actually drove to DTD and was running around trying to find us even after I told him we'd meet him in a parking lot. WTH? On the way to SFB he was playing some sort of music that he told me he intentionally plays so that the passengers will fall asleep during the trip so that he doesn't have to talk to them. Now, I'm not super chatty with someone I don't know but .... really?! "How long have you been doing this?" is being too chatty?!

Nah, HL is not the only service around - I'll try another service next time.

I have used both FL tours and HL. The FL tours was in Nov of 2010, and the livery van was old. I would say from the late 1990s, but I could be wrong. It felt old. The HL ride was in 2009, and was in newish equipment (2-3 years old). Both had acceptable service. I picked FL tours because it was a little cheaper, and now I know now why it is cheaper. For my next shuttle, I will probable go back to HL.

We booked with Executive Limo on the recommendation of Shirley from this board. They were a little cheaper than Happy Limo; hopefully things go ok with them.

I think your warnings are wayyyyy over the top just because they would not match your rate. They published a rate, you did not want to pay, so move on. Warnings in all CAPS? Really?? :confused3
For what it is worth I have used them as late as 6 months ago and was very happy. Larger and even nicer vehicle than I requested and paid for.

M&M's,

Please re-read the thread and maybe you will understand why I said what I said. It was not the rate it was more about their lack of customer service, the nonsense that they wanted me to go through for a price match (which by the way they advertise heavily about price matching) and the fact that they bashed everyone.

If you decide doing business with a company like that please go ahead I was just voicing my opnion that I would not do business with them and thought everyone should know how they operate.\

So your response was WWAAAYY wrong as you would put it.

:)

Our one and only experience with Happy Limo was miserable. The driver got lost going to Port Canaveral (from WDW). Truly and honestly lost. DH was net to him and thought he turned off in an odd place but figured he must be going around some construction he knew about up ahead or something. NOPE! After about a half hour of aimless wandering DH asked if we were lost and was told yes. DH suggested calling in for directions or stopping at a gas station--driver refused to do either as it would "make him look bad." DH eventually figured out where we were using the GPS in his blackberry and got us back on track. It took over 2 hours to get to port with no bad traffic at all :sad2:

Coming back, no one ever came for us. Multiple calls to the head office resulted in a "We don't know what happened to the driver but we will have someone come back for you after they drop their people off." We stood their in the hot sun with luggage and kids for nearly 2 hours waiting for that to happen. Thank goodness we had a late flight. The driver who came for us was VERY apologetic and nice (we tipped him plenty extra) but the people on the phone had not been, we got no refund of any amount and no apology from anyone other than one driver for what I think was horrible service.

After that we went back to only using Tiffany Towncar since we have had consistently excellent service from them.

I don't see any poor customer service here, the Company has their rates and stood by them!.

You seem more upset just because you didnt get your way!

I'll give them a try and base customer service more on a good resrevation system, a well mantained car and good, on time driver!
