It's been one year since this furry little creature entered our lives. :bounce: She has taught us many lessons on caring for those smaller or weaker than the rest and has really become a member of the family. ::yes:: Here's a picture I took yesterday of Jessie holding her. It's not as easy to get pictures as it used to be....she gets away too fast anymore!! :teeth:

Again, thank you to all of you who helped me get through those early days. Thanks for the good wishes, advice, leading me to those who actually rehab bunnies for a living, or for just listening to a very proud mommy of a very special fur-baby! :hyper:

I had a bunny for many years as a kid.. his name was Bippy.

I really loved him!

Oh my gosh!! I can't believe it's been a year!! :)

Congratulations :) I am so glad Thumper has such a wonderful loving home!! :)

WOW, a year already??!!??!! I just smile whenever I see a picture of Thumper.

And THANK YOU for all you have done for this very special bunny!

Time sure did fly. ::yes:: I treated her to a special breakfast this morning of lettuce and cheerios! :sunny: When I look at her now, it is hard to believe she used to fit in the palm of my hand. She has started a new habit with me if I pick her up shortly after I have eaten. She will sniff my face (which if you have ever had a rabbit do to you is something that REALLY makes it hard NOT to sneeze! :earseek: ) and focus in on the area around my mouth. If there is any trace of salt, she will actually lick my face! :D She has gotten tricky recently. When she has her "floor time" she likes to go behind the love seat and hang out there. I always find her there. I used to be able to just reach back and pick her up. She has figured out that if she takes a few steps forward, I can no longer reach her!! I started pulling out the love seat, only to have her hop out the other end!! :hyper: It now takes 2 of us to get her if she is back there...one on each end!
When she would have her floor time, I used to put up a baracade to be sure she stayed in the room. I no longer need to do it and she never leaves the room, even if she is out for hours and I'm not in the room with her. ::yes:: She'll get as far as the room divider, stretch her neck to look into the dining room, but won't venture out! :bounce:

I love this story--I thought of your bunny the other day when I saw a bunny run across the lawn. Glad to hear that all is well and you have a spoiled bunny on your hands....Good for you!

YAY for Thumper and you all!! She is still as cute as can be!!

Awwwww she is SUCH a cutie! Happy Adoption Day!!!

We decided that we are NOT calling this "adoption" day....it has been changed to "ad-hoption day"!! :jumping1:

Awwwww.....that's so sweet!

There is a big mama bunny hanging around our front yard and I'm wondering if there are going to be little "Thumpers" hopping around soon.:D

I can't believe it's been a year either. If I remember correctly, you were trying desprately to find help for that little furball and the vet told you there was no hope. I'm glad you proved them wrong.

I also remember you saying something about not keeping the bunny...but that changed pretty fast didn't it :)

If Thumper would of been 'normal', I probably would of released her to the wild once she was big enough. Her mother left her because of her head tilt, which is still present. There is no way she could survive in the wild. She'd be easy pickin's! :( The wild-life rehab center never called me back the day I found her. I left a few messages, each being very clear in the fact that I had Thumper in the house. A couple weeks had passed and I called again with a question (no intention on turning her over) and they gave me so much grief! (I had no right to have a wild rabbit, it was against the law and I could be fined, I didn't know what I was doing and could kill Thumper............gee....if it was such horrible, you would of thought they would of called me back 2 weeks sooner! )

If you do a search under my old user name (Colleen A.), look for the post about Thumper's early days. You guys did so much and deserve so much credit for Thumper making it this far. ::yes::

Great picture, Colleen, so nice to see Thumper again. Sure is BIG!! And jessie is so cutr too. And big. What a nice story. :bounce:

Well, I knew it was someone that was giving you a hard time about it. You sure did prove them wrong. Not only did you save Thumper's life you have provided her with a loving home. That's probably one spoiled little bunny ;)
