Hi all, it’s been years since I’ve tried to view fireworks at Magic Kingdom on a high-crowd evening. Going to be there this Saturday night (Veterans Day weekend) with a long time friend and this is a one-time trip for her. Can anyone suggest a couple of options for decent viewing spots if we get to the spot 30-60 minutes ahead?

I’ve done the train platform at beginning of Main Street a couple of times which is fun but it’s hit or miss to get up there, and I’d like to be a little closer to the castle.

Many thanks!

Do you actually want to view the Castle projections or just have the Castle in your view during the Fireworks?

Due to the Castle projections it is very crowded now for those trying to view both the projections and the Fireworks unless you are able to get in place 60-75 or even 90 (based on the crowd levels) minutes before the projections as @scrappinginontario indicated on a Saturday night during a holiday period.

Thanks for the responses, can’t say I’m surprised. If we did decide to line up 60-90 minutes ahead aren’t there a few fence areas that are good locations (if you can grab a spot ) since no one will be in front of you? Ideally she’d like to see projections also but will set her expectations. I think it’s unlikely she’ll be back again however, so I’m trying to accommodate best I can.

The problem is she’s only been one other time and it was with me many years ago, and we did the dessert party. So she’s spoiled lol. But we both agreed we’re not committing to that this year. We’re putting that money towards the LLPP which should make for a fun day 😊

I think I know the areas you're thinking about with the fences but most of those are now set aside for reserved viewing. Not sure they are easy to find and if they are you'd need to be there probably 2 hours in advance. The challenge is, at that time you might wait somewhere that they will later rope off for reserved viewing. I would recommend asking a CM when you arrive if there are any places that meet your needs but you will want to arrive early. 90 - 120 mins in advance for prime viewing with nobody in front of you. It will be very crowded this Saturday night I would anticipate.

Please let us know what you end up doing and how it was. I want to do that same thing.

How would one define a "busy night"? Is there any time of year when you wouldn't need to arrive 60-90 min before the show?

Thanks, I can’t imagine we’ll want to be in place that far in advance. Great idea about asking a CM. We can just wing it. I’ve done times where I’m in that massive crowd on Main Street, and the only issue I have is with everyone sticking their phones up in the air to video which makes it hard to see the actual castle ha ha.

I know this is a first world problem, and I’m sure we’ll survive ☺️ Appreciate all the thoughts!

Huh....FWIW I went into the Magic Kingdom solo this past week and was able to score a great spot on the right side of the hub about 1/2 way to the stage with almost perfect view of the castle and it was at most 30min before Happily Ever After, probably closer to 20. The high numbers being quoted here are a bit much IMHO for only 2 people. There should be perfectly fine spots to be found 30min before.
