Hi there, on our next rip I was planning to watch the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from California Grill during a dinner reservation. With the change in show i'm wondering if this will still be worth doing or if my 2 dining credits will be better off spent elsewhere.

Has anyone viewed the new show from the California Grill yet? If so how did you find it?

I will say that this won't be our only viewing, I plan to see it multiple times during our trip and at least one of those times will be right in front of the castle!

Thanks!

I haven't, but I have a cast member friend who has. She said that you really won't be able to see the castle projections that well due to distance and the kind of side angle. But the view of the actual fireworks and lazer lights is great. She says that right in front of the castle is the best place to watch. I think it comes down to whether you like the food or not. I would base your credits on the food with the fireworks just being an extra perk.

Also curious about this (not for California Grill but from the BLT lounge).

The idea of watching fireworks with a cocktail is what sold my fiance on Contemporary, figure the view from both would be about the same. Watching Happily Ever After on the stream last week the first reaction we had was "wow, this kinda hurts seeing fireworks from the hotels, huh?" since it seems so heavily based on the projections.

We will see it tonight from CG. We saw it earlier in the week from the park and it's phenomenal. There is enough Ariel action that we are expecting a good showing from the restaurant.

We watched the first show on Friday from the viewing area outside. It was great as all fireworks shows are from there! They have the music piped in too. Of course as pp said, you can't really see the castle projections. But the fireworks viewing was fine.

Thank you! Was it worth going? Was it magical or should I spend my money on something else? We have a reservation for dessert party garden view. Should I go for a second night in the MK park instead? What are your thoughts?

I am surprised as well, and hope posters will begin reporting soon from the different resorts spots. I have a CG reservation at 9:30pm one night. I could at least for now switch to Narcoosee's or hang out at the Poly....:rolleyes1 I wonder if the 4th floor view at CR is a better one than at CG?

FWIW, I watched from a Poly TPV room (Hawaii building, so close to the beach) last Friday. It was great, as good as always, if not I dare say better? There are tons of fireworks, some with very interesting shapes and colors. Sure you can't see/appreciate some of the show elements that you can in the park, but I don't think that minimizes the entertainment value of the show from the out-of-park locations. Based on my Poly experience, I expect the 'show' from CR to be just as good.

Dont change the CG the reservations are super hard to get espicially close to show time. I think it will still be amazing I just want to hear from someone who has seen it!

Will hold on to the CG ressie, thanks. I also just nabbed a Spice Road for dinner on another night, so feeling pixie dusted!!
I just saw a youtube video of HEA from the TTC---OH WOW - I am a die-hard Wishes (Forever!) Fan - the mere though of Wishes brings on the waterworks, but these new fireworks look HUGE and WONDERFUL even from that distance. It may have been zoomed in but the straight ahead view of the castle from the TTC is is is...oh here come my first HEA tears....

That would be great! I would love your review as well. Im sure everyone on the boards would too. Maybe upload it here or youtube. I will be waiting to see it. Thank you and have fun. Where are you staying?

I was curious about this too, as we have a brunch reservation for Cali grill and would be allowed to come back for the fireworks. Here is a video taken from the Contemporary Observation deck. I imagine would be the same. Hope it helps
