Our trip next year will begin on May 7th and I was curious as to what the celebration would be like. We've always seemed to miss the big celebrations in the past like the Millenium, 100 Years of Magic and the like. Hoping this might be similar some how so we can be there for something extra special (like it's not special to begin with).

Has anyone heard what will be going on???

Thanks!

I'm curious about this too. We will be going that same week. We chose that week for the lower crowds and the not so stinking hot weather. We were there the same time for the millennium. The millennium was half over by then so I don't think there was that great of impact on the crowds.

Don't expect anything TOO elaborate. This is DisneyLAND's 50th anniversary, so the primary focus will be on Anaheim.

Disney did announce tie-ins at each of their theme parks. Specifically, Disney World is supposed to be getting a new stage show for the castle courtyard which is borrowed from Tokyo. I believe they are also planning to have the new "Soarin" attraction open by then, with an outside chance that the MGM stunt show will also be operational.

It's nice that they are making this a worldwide Disney celebration, but the main focus should remain at Disneyland where it all began.

How long is the Celebration going to last? Will crowds carry over into the weekend too?
