Hanging stockings with no mantle

We live in the Caribbean, so no fireplaces here. We put nails in the wall in what became our permanent stocking hanging area.

When our children were younger, I bought personalized wooden stocking hangers - Santa's face with the child's name written across the white trim of the hat, and a wooden peg for hanging. I bought them at a Christmas craft fair - that was almost fifteen years ago and they're still going strong! Couldn't find them last year when we moved in November. Hopefully, I'll be able to find them this year!

The command hooks work great and they have some that look like metal so they are a bit fancier.

When we didn't have a mantle stockings were not put out.

Santa would stuff them and leave them under the tree. I actually liked that better since Santa could work on them earlier and make sure everything fit. LOL

No fireplace here. We use the commander hooks on our coat closet door and hang mine and DH's on top, DD in the middle and the boys on the bottom. We've never had any problems with residue or getting the hooks off.

Now the front picture window that has a broken commander hook on it is another story :rolleyes1
