I have heard that in the scene where Dorothy, the tin man, and the scarecrow were walking down the yellow brick road there was a person hanging themselves in the background because they didnt get a part they wanted in the movie. I found out that it was just a big bird. But towards the end in the celebration where all the munchkins are, there is a lady dangling with a noose around her neck. I dont know what to believe, i've heard its true, and i've heard its a legend. But all I know is that it creeps me out. :scared1: anyone know what really happened?

Think of alllll of the people who had to see this movie: director, producers, editors; and the people who were on set: sound technicians, light technicians, etc. do you really, honestly think something as blatant and horrible as a person's suicide would go unnoticed and make it into the final cut of the film?

I really dont belive it, but all the youtube videos and google searches are messing with my head.

I had heard of that but the version I heard was that it was actually an actress who had been up for the role of Dorothy and not gotten it. So she was so disappointed and upset for not getting the part that she hung herself.

The Hanging Munchkin legend is complet hogwash, what people belive to be hanging in the back drop is actually a Crane with its wings spread out, I remeber a show called TV-land Myths and Legends showed a extreme close up of the scene and you can cleary see its a bird.
