I voted for. Maybe now I won't have to wait behind a lady filling six of them with tea and taking time to add sweetener to each one in a painfully slow and messy exhibition that gnarled at the very innards of my soul. pirate: And these very same hoodlums wonder why I drink before noon! pirate:

Two weeks carrying 5 'mugs' without handles to the soda machine and back and I foresee quite a few spills or dropped 'mugs'.

I like the handle, easier to carry if a hot drink.

This may be a silly question but with the handles gone, where do they place the chip? When I was there last, it was under the handle. I image it would be at the bottom of the mud but just curious if anyone had any info on this!
The chip is on the bottom, unless it changed, that's how the dispenser reads it.

If I am not mistaken, the only way I could tell the cups apart when they had the lid removed, was by the color of the handle.
True on that!

I really don't understand why that is a problem.
Don't people wash their mugs? Unless someone has used coffee in their mug and it smells, in that case you could smell the coffee, what difference does it make if the actual mugs get switched around?
In my family we don't share mugs. They get washed, but not a real good soap cleansing till we get home, so no, I don't want to drink out of someone else's if they get mixed up, so to some it does matter. Or I could see my niece & nephew fighting when they were younger if they got mixed up and one found out the other drank out of 'their' mug.

So, if they are already added in at all the resorts, do we know if there are really only two color lids vs. the normal four choices? I figured more would come out when they spread to, or before spreading to other resorts aside from just being at one.

We don't switch lids until they are washed. But I guess I don't understand cups. Oh well.

Maybe bring a marker and mark the cups?

If the "mug" does not have a handle, it is a cup. I think they should have handles, but they could provide both. I agree with someone who said that they need to go back to the resort specific mugs. They were definitely a better quality and actually kept your beverage cold or hot a lot longer than the cheap mugs they now sell.

Actually it's not just at Saratoga Springs, they are at every resort. You have the option right now, but once the inventory of handled mugs are gone there will be no more option.
Yes, I had noticed while at the Contemporary they also had it, but fortunately the Polynesian still had the ones with the handles.

Now you'll be behind 6 individuals all doing it one or two at a time. Is that somehow better?

Backwash.

Marker wears off; even sharpie. This isn't an issue with Disney mugs (I'm the only one who gets one for my coffee depending on what sort of stay it is) but at home trying to ID my son's water bottles for dance class so it doesn't walk away with someone else.

Soap.

I use cups from other people at home and at restaurants. They just get washed between uses.

Yes, but when you're filling 4 cups and one person wants diet soda, one wants regular, one wants Dr Pepper, etc - and they all look the same it becomes a pain if the kids aren't on (like if you leave all the kids at the table to go fill everyone's mugs). Or when you are preparing coffee a few different ways. Color coded helps in those situations!

I get it. I just don't see it as a big deal.

If it becomes that much of a big deal, put a hair elastic around it. Or a rubber band. And use different colors.

Or, if you have to, don't buy them. That would be the best way to show Disney that you don't like the change.

I voted 'For' because...why not! I mean most people who get mugs probably have more than one at home with a handle to use if they want it and when at the resort and getting a new one why not try something new and see how it works out for you!

Honestly, I don't really buy the mugs it just doesn't work for me, they are way to small to make it worth it if you are far away from the refill stations, but that's another conversation, so...

I do think Disney will come out with an attachable handle like many popular tumblers have, so maybe that will help so people can use the mugs with a handle and without.

I won't be able to use the mug without a handle. My hands are clawed from arthritis and I can't close my grip around a cup safely.

Am I allowed to bring one of my old mugs from home, purchase a new one and fill it, then pour it into the old mug with the handle? I don't mind spending whatever I have to, I just need to be able to use a mug that I can actually pick up. Or does anyone have another idea? I'm staying for 10 days and there's no way I'm waiting in line for buying a drink separately five times a day.

No handles will make them easier to store at home...but still, just prefer the mugs with handles instead of without. Don't like the look of them without. Small issue, but still.

They are all gone from Pop and DAAR. A manager offered to call around to find some for me and another guest. They only found 4 at All Star which we got. The handles made it alot easier to carry. I wish they would have done both so the guests could have a choice but i guess they save money without the handles since its less plastic. I've already complained and will be sure to mention it on the guest survey after our trip.
