Where are these rooms located at CSR and which area is the best so I can make my request. I will be using a ECV on our trip also. Will I need a 1st floor or can I use the elevators with my scooter?

Accessible rooms are spread throughout the resort. And all the buildings have elevators and there is plenty of room for ECVs in them.

There is the map of CSR and you can decide where you want to be from that.

That is the pdf map and is easier to see things like bus stops.

Building B at the bottom is the convention center and just above it is all the restaurants and guest services plus the Magical Express stop and a WDW bus stop. There are bus stops at the convention building, across from the casita buildings starting with 4000, across from the 6100 Rancho buildings, and near the 8000 series of rooms which are the cabanas. G on the map is the Dig Site where the pool is at. The beauty salon and health spa are in building D just north west of the main C building.

Does anyone know about the handicapped rooms at CRS? We are planning a trip this March and want to know if there handicapped rooms all have king bed or are there some with double beds. Please help:confused3

contact Special (Medical) Reservations at 407-939-7807
They can tell you what you can have and cannot have. In theory you can get two beds and a roll in shower in the same room but no promises. They handle all special needs of guests like deep cleaning, gentle washing of linens, roll-in-showers, and hand held showers.

As for where is your room. There are PDF and regular maps you can look at while talking to Special Reservations. My brain is on vacation so cannot remember which resort is CRS.

Thnaks for the info but regretable tried all the above. Called the special request line today. Boy are these people so different from anybody I have spoken to at Disney. Monotoned voice and was really put out by my call. Needless to say didn't get any info. And the maps just show the Resort itself. Last year when we went I found a site that had detailed maps as to where each handicapped was and what was in them. Wish I had kept that site. now cant find it.:guilty: :sad2:

What do you want to know? We have stayed there several times and love it there. We always ask for rooms with king beds since it's just 2 of us, but when we have gone with 1 or 2 others we are always accommodated.

We have stayed in Casita 1,2 and 3 on 3 different levels. Any room in those building would work great.

Remember also that there are two types of accessible rooms. One has a tub with rails and one has a roll in shower. The rooms with roll in shower do not have a tub. I mention this only as there are some families with small children who prefer a tub. If you do have a room with tub/rails and cannot step into the tub, you can request a shower bench that allows you to sit and slide over into the tub where you would then use the hand-held shower sprayer. I've been in all areas of CSR with both types of rooms-the only area that was inconvenient was in the Ranchos section but I loved the decor of the room. It was just a long "hike" to the main building/food court, esp. with a service dog in the heat of summer. Neither of us wanted to leave the room once we got there.---Kathy

I would just like to know if the handicapped rooms with roll in showeres all have king beds or are there some with 2 queen beds. There are 4 of us going. My husband needs the roll in shower. He is a Quad and can not get into a tub without a lot of drama. Just wanted to know if we could all stay in same room or were we going to have to split.

The odds are that you will need two rooms. The only way to see what is available is calling that number I posted. Coronado Springs varies in room types and qualities and consists of three different types of rooms. That number posted above is the one you will have to use to make sure you get a roll in shower. Even if someone tells you where the rooms are does not guarantee you get two double or queen beds. Only calling the number posted above will Disney then put any special requests like deep cleaning, hand held showers, bed rails, and roll in showers. If you cannot stand the person's attitude or voice then ask for another person to deal with.

I am sorry and will try an couple more minutes looking for a resort map with the disabled rooms marked.:surfweb:

I'm sorry you did not have a good experience with Special Needs. Usually, the best time to contact them is after you have made a reservation at a particular resort. It it is easier for them to help with room location and any special medical needs - at least that is what they explained to me the first time I spoke with them and each time they've been wonderful. Like any place, some CM's are better than others and sometimes someone is just having an off day.

Good luck and try again.:goodvibes

Called back to guest services today. Thank goodness I talked to a much happier CM. Was happy to help me with my special request needs and answered some of my questions. Thnak all of you who helped me in this matter.
