handicapped room locations

I have a room book at All Star Sports that has a roll in shower.. for my son who has Cerebral Pasly... I had to book the room directly through special guest services... so the room is BLOCKED.. If I called Disney would they tell me what area of all star sports its in???

I don't know if they will tell you or not.

But we stayed at the All Star Sports in the Jazz section in a roll-in shower room. The room was upstairs but close to the elevator. It was pretty close to the pool & food court. The bathroom was large & the layout of the whole room worked out very well for us.

As a general rules, even though room assignments are actaully made several days in advance, it is Disney policy not to let any Guest know the room to which they are being assigned until they have checked in and the room is available.

It is possible, for example, to check in during the morning and ket your keys and everything, but if the room has not yet been vacated and cleaned you will not be given the room number. You will only be given your keys and a phone nubmer to call later (usually after 3:00) and they will then give you to room number.

(And, by the way, I removed your post where you had bumped up your thread. In this forum it usually takes several days for a post to get off Page 1, so bumping a thread is not necessary.)

We have been told the reason they won't tell even when the room is blocked is that there is a chance that something might happen that takes that room out of commission - some mechanical problem, guest who doesn't check out on time, carpet that needs cleaning - anything that makes that room unavailable.

As for what area you room is in - there should be accessible rooms in all "sports" of the resort; so if you're paying for a Preferred location you'll be in Surf's Up, and if you're sticking with Standard you have a one in four chance of being assigned a room in any remaining sport.
