1. For days now, I've been trying to read everything here on the boards... how do some of you navigate this montrous site? Pick a forum or two and stick with those??

2. We're are going Sept 23 thru 29. Staying at POR (did learn that abbreviation). We're using free dining, I have all ADR made. We're eating CRT the night of MNSSHP... do you think that's a bad idea? It was the only time I could get... we're planning on attending the party.

3. Previously saw a post regarding Flights changing (we're using Air Tran)... I keep checking our flights and it bounces back and forth between times... when will that stablize? The post I read said something about getting flights changed to your advantage... how do you do that?

4. BTW, it's me (35), hubby (36), DD 9, DD 6. Hubby and I went to WDW in Sept 98 for honeymoon and Sept 99 for anniversary. This is the first BIG trip for our family. We stayed at "Dixie Landings" which is why we chose to go where we had great experience.

5. I have a feeling it's going to be BUSIER than the previous Sept trips... anyone else have that vibe?

Well, since I don't know if I can even find this post again, I'll sign off.

Welcome. I agree, this is a vast site, I just peruse a few different areas--restaurants, tips, families...
You can check transportation about the airline stuff. In my experience I have on had minor time changes, the one time we had a major change was many years ago, we were meeting my mom and grandma and would have arrived later than they would so we had to beg a little, but got them to put us on a flight out late the night before so that we would be there to meet them when they arrived to help my grandma.
What time is your CRT? I guess it depends how badly you want to eat there? You have to eat at some point. The party goes on long enough, I doubt you'll miss that much unless it's during parade or fireworks times. We are doing CP at 430p the night of our MNSSHP.
Well, we were supposed to go the same week and I ended up moving it to the next week because I was having trouble getting air. Also, some off-site hotel specials I saw excluded that week in their deals so I don't know what is going on. It's still Sept, it probably won't be that bad.
I hope you enjoy your week!!!!

Ah I know... it's so overwhelming when you start "researching" disney on line! I'm active on a few boards here - transportation, Disney for Families and Disney Tips (there's a great thread about first time tips!).
My flight changed to my advantage but it could have easily made it worse - I guess I was lucky. Hopefully there won't be any more changes. I'm flying Delta.
I'm going in Sept as well and it's our first "family" trip. It's so much different when traveling with kids then with your SO. I feel "responsible" for making sure my kids have the best time ever. I also feel a bit more "competition" b/c of the free dining and getting those coveted ADR's!

Good Luck with the planning :cool1:

1. For days now, I've been trying to read everything here on the boards... how do some of you navigate this montrous site? Pick a forum or two and stick with those?? Here's what I did...
1) bought a guide book (I used Passporter, which I loved)
2) lurked in Theme Park Attractions and Strategies and Disney for Families... found most of my info there
3) looked into the restaurant and hotels boards AFTER I booked my room and consulted allears.net for restaurant menus

Keep checking with your airline. The flights really aren't 100% set until the week before. You can always call them and ask the workers if there is anything better for you. Worse they can say is no.

Welcome back! You are going to have an amazing time seeing your girls light up the first time they see Mickey or their favorite character.

5. I have a feeling it's going to be BUSIER than the previous Sept trips... anyone else have that vibe? Yes. Though I'm not going on DS's next trip in the fall, I keep warning my parents that I think the parks are going to be busy. But IMHO, if you plan ahead and remind yourself that it's going to be busy, it's a lot more tolerable - you know what you're getting into.

Well, since I don't know if I can even find this post again, I'll sign off. There is a way to subscribe to a thread so you can find them again. Best of luck
