I know I saw something regarding the hand painted shoes that are available at Downtown Disney.... either YouTube or Facebook or on here?????
I remember a video showing a woman that does the painting.
Anyone know of this? Can you post a link.... or message me to let me know the link?

I can't remember the name of where they are sold at Downtown Disney. But I'd like to see if she could paint a pair for me.... special request. :)

p.s. I didn't remember that the shoes were Toms. I thought there were several different styles, etc.
any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

I saw the people over by the shops close to house of blues. Believe they do Toms and Vans, idk if they work on other shoes as that canvas is the best for them.

Idk the little booths name however. If you want a pair done before your trip though, there's a bunch of people on Wanelo and Etsy that have shops set up and do requests. The shop in downtown Disney, I believe I remember seeing them advertising their Wanelo or Etsy page on a small sign.

Google says it's done at "Curl by Sammy Duvall" and that it's only Toms.

I also googled it.... and came up with Curl. But I don't think what I saw was Curl because the video I watched said you could bring in shoes too as long as they are canvas. And it definitely was at Downtown Disney. And I'm someone that likes to look at the work/quality before actually buying. Thanks!! :thumbsup2

I believe it's done outside the Curl shop. They had a little booth set up outside and weren't doing it in the building. Yea I think at the place they only have Toms for sale to paint on, but you could bring in other shoes. Obviously cheaper price if you supply the shoes.

So after some digging..... It is Curl that I saw and.... after more digging.... they have had some horrible comments on various sites regarding the horrible guest service people have received there. I will skip it on my next trip and look online for shoes! Thanks guys!

Now... another question..... what type of paint is used? and how is it sealed? I'm wondering how well it holds up through wearing them.

I'm not sure what is used at Curl, but your best bet is to use acrylic paint with a clear sealant like Krylon's Make It Last.

Online is the way to go! I love mine! I had a pair of Toms painted- 1 is the castle and the other shoe is Monorail Red with the characters silhouettes in the windows and Mickey and Minnie in the front of it. I have worn these during 2 trips sp far, this year will be the third and they hold up awesome! I don't wear them everyday/all day in the parks though... just when we are doing something low key. image.jpg

Love those!!! If you wouldn't mind..... can you PM me where you got them? :goodvibes

I paint my own shoes ... I use acrylic and seal with a matte waterproof finish ... I have a pair that I have worn significantly, two-three times a week plus full park days, and they are several years old, too the point that I'm wearing through the sole (they are croc hovers, extremely comfortable) ... They have held up very well in my opinion

In the picture they are already a year old and just got signed by the characters (awesome experience for me, since I didn't ask, woody just did it and buzz followed suit)

I got them on Etsy but I just looked and the artist is not on there anymore.. I got them 2 years ago. There are SO many great artists on there though.

I painted these myself and im pretty happy with them. I mostly do more detailed stuff on tote bags but i liked how they came out
