Hampton Inn - Maingate WEST

Would appreciate any comments on this place...it's located on US 192. I need to book for one night before checking into our Disney resort the next day. Right now, we have ressies in Ocala but would like to get closer in.

Please feel free to offer other suggestions for a one nighter...just need a clean, quiet room for this short stay...a continental breakfast offering would be nice but not absolutely necessary. Thanks for any help you can give!

We stayed at Hampton Inn Maingate West two years ago, like you looking for a nice off site property for just a night. This was just fine for our purposes, nothing fancy but was clean and had a continental breakfast. It sits a little ways off Hwy 192 so I did not notice in road noise. I think our rate at the time was around $50, I have noticed a $61 rate on Hampton Inn web site with AAA or AARP.

You can cut up on Sherberth (sp) Road near Hampton Inn which takes you right into Disney property.

You said the hotel sits a little ways off Hwy 192, is it difficult to see from the road? Just wondering if it would be easy to miss it & drive past.

Also, thanks for the tip about Sherberth Rd...that is good to know!

I can't remember the signage on the highway for the Hampton, I don't remember any big problem in finding it. If you are going west on Hwy 192 look for Maingate Lane (think that is the name) on the right, if you overshoot it you can turn right on Sherbeth Road (sp.) and actually loop back to Maingate Drive and the hotel. If you have a minute to explore there are actually Disney offices behind the Hampton Inn along Maingate Drive.

I did make ressies there for one night & the lady who helped me said to watch for a big mermaid and the hotel was right behind her. It sounds like it would be hard to miss that, so maybe I won't overshoot the turnoff!

There may be an IHOP in front of the Hampton Inn, but I'm not positive. I guess if you see a mermaid and an IHOP you will know you have the right place.
