Hi all! This is the first time I'm writting on this forum. Until now I've been on the DCL forum, so I'm gonna present myself: My name is Nicholas, I'm 14 years old, I'm from Germany and I'm a huge Disney-fan. As seen that I'm from Germany, we've only been to DLP and I don't know all the differences from DL. Well, now I live in LA, because my dad has been invited from the Getty, so I went with him and want to go pretty soon to Disneyland. Now I went to the site and saw, that there is this Halloween thing going on in DL. And this brought up a lot of questions: The price is already less than normal, is it possible to make it cheaper with our Getty-cards and the southern-California-prices? Or is this one of the You-don't-get-in-here-cheaper-even-if you were-Walt-Disney-in-persona-things? Then why are there only a few days listed on the website? Are the rest of the days already sold-out? And is this only admission to DL or also to DCAA? I thought it was just DL, until I saw something about the Tower of Terror being changed, so I'm kinda confused. :confused3 And on the website there are hours listed. So can you only be in the park, while this time and later, they'll bring you away? And as seen, that this isn't the main-season. Are there a lot of attractions, which aren't going to be used in the next time? And is the Hollywood Tower of Terror really changed or is it the same as always? :confused3 Also is it good to go to DL in this special time, or would you go on a normal time? And is the Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror decoration just until the 31th or longer? I know, that these are a lot of questions and they probably already have answerd a lot of times, but if you could help me, planning our DL-trip I'd be really grateful :worship: :) Also I hope, that I don't have too many mistakes in my text, I still have to get used to this new language.

1) The Halloween party is a special event and is only open to those that buy the special Halloween party tickets. All other guests in the park earlier that day will be asked to leave at a certain time (varies depending on the day).

2) The Halloween party is only in Disneyland (not California Adventure). The website mentions Tower of Terror because it is a scary attraction, but it actually is not transformed for Halloween.

3) The Haunted Mansion transformation is actually up through Christmas, since it is made over with a Nightmare Before Christmas theme and applies to both holidays. Space Mountain is transformed into Ghost Galaxy, and that change is only good through the Halloween season.

4) The reason the website only lists certain days is because the party is not offered every day. If a particular day is sold out, the page will list it but say "Sold Out".

5) The price is pretty fixed. There are small discounts for AP holders, but that's the only discount on the Halloween ticket prices.

That was really helpful, thank you very much "sonnyane"! Now I finally understand a few things. :) I can't wait to plan our trip now.

Wilkommen Nicholas! Ich spreche nur ein bisschen Deutsch, aber mein Mann und ich lebten in Hamburg fur sechs Monate im Jahr 2004 und wir leiben Deutschland! Wir machen einen Urlaub im nachsten Jahre!

Okay, my German is very bad, but welcome! Anaheim was founded by Germans and was named by German immigrants! "Ana" from the nearby Santa Ana river, and "heim" of course from home. Your English ist sehr gut, by the way.

To add to what Sonnyjane said, the Halloween Party is a good deal. You are allowed to enter 3 hours before the stated party time on the ticket, so if you stay until the park closes you can get 8 hours for a relatively low price. This is the first year we will be going and we are very excited. Most of the rides are open and there is also "Trick or Treating." I'm not sure if you're familiar with this American custom, but there are stations around the park where the cast members give out candy or healthy treats like apple slices. The American custom in general is similar to Schultuete, but it's on Halloween and children knock on their neighbor's doors and say "Trick or Treat" and receive candy from all of their neighbors in addition to their families.

You will have a wonderful time, whether you come for the Halloween Party or on a regular day!

The past two posters have given you great info. I just want to add that you might be getting confused by "Halloween Time" at the DLR (Disneyland Resort), which is the season that the parks are decorated for Halloween with traditional "American" Halloween/Fall decor and the Dia de los Muertos decor at a DL restaurant. In addition to the parks being decorated for the holiday, they have special parties that are called Mickey's Halloween Party on some nights, which are held in DL and closes the park early. Does that make sense? If you feel like really reading about Halloween Time, check out the official thread here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2560082

OK, thank you all! I'll talk to my dad today and I'm gonna plan with him our trip there. I would love this. It is a pitty, that you can go there just monday, tuesday and friday, but hey Disney sure has it's reasons to do it like this.
@MyYearWithTheMouse: What you said was really nice and your German isn't bad. Thank you for clearing me up with Anaheim. I always thought, it had to do something with Germany.
@Specialks: Thank you for clearing me up, I already knew something about it, but your link really helped out.

Just so you know it's only the Mickey's Halloween party on those days. Disneyland is open every day and the Halloween decorations are up for all to enjoy. The days of the partys DL does close earlier (6 or 7) but DCA is open later.

You could do one of the parties and still enjoy DL the rest of the time.

HM and Space Mountain are changed over for the holidays and you will still find some characters in costume during regular hours.

I posted some photos taken on Friday during regular hours on the above mentioned thread.
