HalloweenTime DIS Diva Style, Oct 23-25 2009. Trip Report Has Begun!

YAY the TR has started. :yay: :cool1:

Hey, I've been waiting a long time for this. :rotfl:

That was nice of Melody to let you stay the night. She's so sweet. Whenever I think of her I remember how she brought me pommes frites and beignets, and sat with me through the freezing cold to wait for Fantasmic. :rotfl2:
It made sense for y'all to drive down together. ::yes::

Gotta love the ET rate at HoJo. It really cannot be beat. And at least the room had two sinks. That is soooooo handy.

Miss Sally's birthday party looked so special. She had the biggest smile on her face in those pics! And that cake......so pretty. :goodvibes

So THAT's why you didn't get into the parks the first day............you were living it up in the concierge lounge. :snooty: :rotfl2: Sounds nice. I'm not a pin trader either though. I have several lanyards full of pins and I won't part with a single one.

Looking forward to hearing about the ToT party. :)

Thanks for your enthusiasm. ;)

Melody was way to kind to let me stay at her place for the night. How sweet that she stayed with you while waiting for Fantasmic! The Entertainment rate at HoJo's is VERY nice. :thumbsup2

I highly recommend getting someone to stay at concierge and having them invite you up. :rotfl2: Nothing like a glass of wine (or two or three) to make everything all better!

Great start to your TR! I'm sorry you ended up sick. I came home with a killer head cold!
Is the bedding upgraded in building 6 like it is in buildings 1 and 2?

Oh no, you got sick too! I hope you're feeling better. It was so great seeing you, even though we didn't get to talk much.

I'm gonna have to say no on the upgraded bedding in building 6.

It was great to meet you too, Wendy! I'm sorry you weren't feeling well on the trip.

Hey Angie! I wish we could've talked more, but there's always February! :hyper:

Looks like such a fun little party. I don't think I would be a good pin trader either!

It was a fun party! I wish I had more pictures to share of it, maybe I can steal some from someone.

I wish they didn't make the pins so freakin' cute! I even went and bought a pin, because I just had to have it. *sigh* Why does Disney do this to me?

Thanks for reading everyone!

OK, I forgot to ask this earlier, but what does that mean, a "metal free" cake?

Dawn had ordered a cake before from Disney and she found metal it in. Apparently they sometimes use metal to hold the flowers in place on cakes. Never heard of such a thing before, my mom decorates cake for a living and she's never used metal. :confused3

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh great trip report, Wendykins!
Thanks for the great pictures that you took!

Did you get the picture of Angie's little girl blowing the pinwheel? It was so adorable.

Beth.. yep... they attach the flowers with a slim piece of metal.. call and ask them if they sometimes use thin metal wire to attach flowers.. they did with my birthday cake. Then when Disney management took it away, THEY found another piece.

So when i ordered this cake..i was specific.... please do not put anykind of decoration on the cake that needs metal wiring:rotfl:

Wendy, that glass of wine was still there when we checked out!!!:sad2:

More pics More pics!:yay:

Thanks for that info gals. How weird. I'd never heard of such a thing either. :confused3 Wow. That's kind of scary. Who wants to take a chance of biting into a piece of metal!! :scared1:

Okay, we are ready for more, more, more!! :yay: popcorn:: :teeth:

Hey Dawnikins! I'm going to e-mail you the pics of you and your mom as soon as I can. :thumbsup2

I think my seester is the one who took the picture of Angie's adorable daughter. :cutie:

Stupid metal cakes.

I can't believe how horrible housekeeping is for concierge level! :scared1:

I'm still confuzzeled about why they would need to use metal.

I still wish you would have been able to be there.

Great start, ready for the next installment! :thumbsup2 popcorn::

Thanks! Want to write the next part for me? ;)

I'm gonna start typing up the next installment now!

After I had a sufficient amount of wine in me...thanks to Dawn for giving me access to the concierge lounge...it was time to get ready for Mickey's Trick or Treat Party! Everyone had such cute costumes! I got ready with Dawn and Sally, who were the Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit:

The three of us walked to California Adventure to meet up with everyone else. I couldn't believe what some of the young girls I saw were wearing! If I had a daughter, I think I would have a heart attack if I saw her dressed like these girls were. Oh well, nothing I can do about how they dress. Eventually everyone was in one spot and we took some pictures.

After we took pictures, everyone broke off into smaller groups. The group I was in went off to get candy, because that's how we roll.

At one of the candy stations a cast member saw me coming and dropped the candy that was in her hand back into the candy bucket, and proceeded to give me craisins instead. Maybe she was trying to tell me something? :confused3

Sorry about the blurry pictures, I don't have a very steady hand.

After being herded like cattle, we decided to take a break and ride Toy Story Midway Mania. It was a blast, like always. We continued along the pier and came upon a princess photo op.

After pictures, we took a tiny break and then continued on our way. This was also the point when I decided that I was over it and wanted to go lay down somewhere.

We came upon a villain at this point, and guess who it was? The Queen of Hearts! How perfect!

Thankfully, some of the other gals decided they were done for the night and we went back to the Grand. :worship: Linda and I headed to the lounge and caught the fireworks from up there. Then Bree, Sally, Dawn and Cheryl joined us and we drank wine and grand marniers and ate yummy desserts. At this point it was definitely bed time, so I poured my grand marnier in a sippy cup and started my walk back to HoJo's.

It was really fun hanging out with everyone this night. I love my friends! :grouphug:

Up next, Magic Morning!!!!

Ok, so it happened to you to? We got the crummiest selection. When Diana asked me "Hey, what did you get?" I said "I got a rock". We both started laughing hysterically :lmao: But seriously, the quality of the candy wasn't as good as last year's picks and to top it all off there were NO apple crisps!:scared1:

I hate how so many use Halloween as a chance to dress slutty. Have you seen the movie Mean Girls? There's a scene where one of the characters is invited to a Halloween party and really gets into it dressing all ghoulishly, only find that the other girls use Halloween as an opportunity to wear lingerie with a pair of bunny or cat ears and call it a "costume".

Looks crowded! Was it? Or was it just that area?

It was just clear to her that you are a natural sort of girl who preferred something healthy over any candy they had to offer. ;)

This was also the point when I decided that I was over it and wanted to go lay down somewhere.

Were you already feeling sick at this point? Or just tired?

We came upon a villain at this point, and guess who it was? The Queen of Hearts! How perfect!

How cute!! That is perfect.

Oy. I bet that was a loooooong walk after already being tired and walking so much. :headache:

The Divas are a great group of ladies!! I'm glad you got to go to the party. :goodvibes

My replies are in pink.

Great so far :thumbsup2. Sorry you weren't feeling to well.

I really didn't see you much during the trip, but it was nice seeing you for a minute at Miss Sally's party. Hopefully you make it in February so we can hang out more ;).

Oooh - I want one of those little crown stickers that you have on Tink!!! Where the heck did you get that sparkly little thing and where can I get one????

I got the crown on this last Girls Trip. Someone brought them and someone else had an extra so I grabbed it. For the life of me I can't remember who had them. :confused3 I'm planning on going to Michael's for some crafty supplies, so if I see some I'll bring them with me next week. :thumbsup2

I brought the crowns last year. Got them on an end aisle at Michael's. I'm not crafty, but they were cute.

No Diva left behind!

I love this!

Great trip report. I wish my camera was in a better working order when I saw everyone before the TOT party. I wanted to take tons of pics. But I got nada. Great costumes.

Oh, and I agree....skanky was in this Halloween. :sad2:

Loving your trip report, and I am TOTALLY making those Haunted Mansion cemetery cupcakes for my daughter's class party on Friday. :)

Hi Wendy!

I started asking for the carrots, crasins, raisins, apples...the healthy stuff because if I wasn't going to get yummy chocolate I figured the healthy snacks were better than the sour candy I seemed to be getting.

PS Thanks for the report and posting the pictures.

Woo hoo for trick-or-treating :woohoo: Boo for crappy candy! And what the heck was up with the Craisins and raisins???? Blasphemy, I tell you!!

Yes, basically poop for candy :sad1: I think all together Jesse and I got five chocolate bars of some kind - no Ghirardelli at all :sad2: Very sad......

Oooh, I'm going to look for some! They are very cute and sparkly - love it!

I saw one station that had the fruit leather and I had to ask for one :scared1: Really??? Other than that we got a couple apple and carrots, way too many raisins and Craisins (blech!!). At least Jesse will eat some of the candy that we got (he's a kid - what does he know :rotfl2:). I would rather have had the wine and Grand Marnier that Wendy and the other ladies were enjoying ;)

What happens next????? :surfweb: I have a couple of very cute pics from Minnie's if you want........ which cost me a little bit in bribery, I might add :lmao: Worth it though!!

What??? OMG, that sucks. I got tons of candy last year. I took a pic of it and it almost covered my bed at HoJo there was so much of it. And lots of it was the Ghirardelli chocolate. Bummer.

Hi Wendy. Great report. Come read mine too:)

We actually got a lot of candy. Sure tons of it was sour stuff and taffy, but hey, we like that too. We did get a fair amount of tootsie rolls and chocolate bars, whoppers etc. And, the Ghiradelli! I actually started just saying no thanks to apples and carrots and requesting chocolate, very nicely of course. One CM even directed me to the Ghiradelli cart:thumbsup2
