Here are some of the questions that have been seemingly "lost" in the halloween posts.

Me - I am looking for help in costuming ideas for me (24) and my parents (45+). The thing is I am open to most anything, Mom is pretty mello about things like this and Dad is all over the spectrum (he once went to work on halloween as Rambo but then would outright refuse to dress up when he took us kids trick or treating). I am looking for ideas of what we can do for costumes? We probably will NOT be going back to our resort to change (we're commando style people - Dad is a retired Marine) so we would either have to be wearing it all day (which I am not sure is allowed) or wear some of it all day and just finish it off from a backpack or something.

When my Best Friend was going with the two of us were just going to wear nicer pants or shorts and a nicer blouse and some costume jewlery through out the day and come night, add a tiarra and become princesses. Now she isn't able to come with but my parents are coming.

We don't have to be a single theme either, anything you can think of that we can get in a suitcase from Minneapolis to Orlando. Thanks for your help!

PS My parents and I are all Civil War Reenactors so we are used to costuming, the problem with that costuming though is 1: long dresses won't work on the rides too well and 2: we belong to an artillery unit so there is spent black powder on EVERYTHING, the airports don't like that too much when they do the swab checks on the luggage(go figure ). Thanks again!

Mom2Ashli - We will be there Oct. 21st. DH, DD6 and myself. I would love some help with Costume ideas. If anyone has some to spare.

kydisneyfans - We need any help with finding an adult Wendy costume for our Peter Pan theme on Oct 20. Any tips for a homemade costume would be appreciated. Even an inexpensive gown would work. Help!!

lynnformel - For anyone who has dressed up as a Flapper.... what kind of shoes do you wear at the parks with your costume????

I think that's enough for now. I hope no one minds me pulling out their questions of posting them out of the two halloween stickies.
Thanks for any answers.

For your Dad, a simple, guy-friendly costume is khaki pants, any shirt, sandals, and a mexican poncho and sombrero. (Ok - because of the rides, I might do without the sombrero in WDW.) Wal-Mart always sells the poncho/sombrero set, and for under $20. This works great because you can simply take off the poncho and be in regular clothes! It folds very small and will fit in a backpack nicely. Maybe all three of you could wear this!

Another super easy idea (for women/girls) is to wear leopard print pj's, or a leopard shirt with solid black pants, and wear a leopard-ear headband with whiskers drawn on with eyeliner.

lynnformel:
As far as shoes for a flapper costume, or any dress-up costume, I would try black jazz shoes from a dancewear store. You can get many styles - maryjanes, sneakers, lace-up. Explain what they are for and the shoe fitter at the store will help you!

kydisneyfans:
For "Wendy", try an old-fashioned grandma nightgown in Wal-Mart, with slippers, and style the hair the same way with a ribbon. With "Peter" nearby, there will be no mistaking who she is.

There is an entire multi page thread stuck to the top of this board w/ costume ideas only on it. You may want to check that out.

As for dressing up all day. You will be out of place. It feels weird when you show up at 4pm and you're dressed up and the day guests are not. They tend to outnumber you for awhile.

As for shoes, make sure they are comfortable and the costumes are right for the weather. We did MNSSHP on 10/1 in 2004 and then on 10/31 in 2003. Both years it was very, very HOT and HUMID still at night.
