Halloween Quest PTR~~THE TRIP IS OFFICIALLY OFF!

Double digits!! My second favorite!!

I know I'm late, but congrats on reaching the doubles Laurie. It just means you're getting closer!

I am so sorry about your pet. It sounds like to me she made a big deal about missing the dog but in fact was not missing but didn't want to act like she was not a caring person. I had to give my daughters dog away. I took care of him for almost a year but daughter did not seem like she was going to take him and I was just not able to care for him any longer. He was Alaskan Malmute-- huge dog-very strong-and loved to grab my arm in his teeth and pull arm over so I would pet him--so smart dog to. I gave to one family-- next day they returned him to big to keep in house. Next family were a great match till they had a child and bought a new house -- this is not funny but they left him in garage during day while they were at work and he ate the sheet rock off the walls. I then would dog sit shadow when they were at work and they picked him up at night. Moving on to 3rd try-- success-- family in the country few acres to roam and the new owner was a man and could handle this dog.

I wonder how I did so good with shadow as we found out much later that he was actually part wolf. Why would anyone sell a puppy ( when he was a puppy) like that to a teenager-- my daughter? I was so upset. I wonder how I was able to keep him in line as much as I did.

Well enough about my trials.

Just want you to know I feel for you. I hated to give shadow away and would have been just as upset as you if new owners would have given dog away and not gotten a hold of me first. I sure hope you get dog back.

I think like you she probably sold as she would have data saved re: phone numbers, craigs listings information, and better yet data is saved on "all" computers periodicly. I have to reboot mine all the time from last saved date-- got a virus some how and with out up grading operating system I can't get it off so I have to reboot from that last saved data. I would ask if she sold dog.

How is the job looking coming? Hope that all works out as well.

talk to you later--keep smiling. If nothing more it makes you feel better for a bit.

Yikes...part wolf?? That really should have been disclosed in the beginning!!

I've pretty much come to terms that our dog is gone & we won't be seeing her again. The reason she couldn't find the contact info was because she sold her & the money was gone already.....she's selling all the accessories we sent with her too.....just frustrating & sad to think a foster parent who understands loss could do that to our kids!!!

Job hunting has stagnated......Cali is definitely out. They don't pay enough to make up the difference in rents in Southern Cali & Northern Cali is starting to phase out cutters & hiring clerks for minimum wage......I don't think so!

We're still waiting to hear back from Arizona, but the gal has been out of the office for over a week & hopefully Mike can contact her on Monday. Supposedly they are in need of meat mgrs there & the gal that handles the non-mgmt seemed impressed with Mike & was going to email the other gal.....just wish he could finally make contact so we'd know if there was a possibility or not.

Otherwise, we'll just be stuck here. There are lots of pros for staying (family, great service & pediatrician for the twins, friends) but I'd sure like to feel good enough to have the energy to keep up with the kids. Willamette Valley is just to cool & damp.

Well dang it all -- she should give back the items you gave her.

I have a friend whose husband works at safeway near surprise. He is part time but needed a job for med insurance. I am sure something will come along. I would think meat cutters would be in demand. I have to say Safeway here has the best meat in our area. The meat counter is always clean no matter when I go to store. They have a seafood counter to that is well kept--never has a fishy smell near area. Wish I could say same for a couple of other stores in our area.

I totally agree with you about the damp weather here. Gray is such a depressing color after seeing it for 30 days solid. Now you understand why I missed spending winters in Hawaii. Even when it rained there it would be sunny sometime during the day. I loved the days being longer when we were there to.

I have a friend that has fibro. She has a web site set up to help others and she also started a support group. They have been meeting for a long time. I wish I knew of some way to help you out with that illness. I think it is so new might take a bit before they figure out cause and what can be done to ease pain.

Might not get to go to the Diva meet this year :(. Back on the transplant list (at least that is what one Dr. told me) but my coordinator is on vacation now until July 11. I think she was going to put my chart on her back-ups desk. The longer they wait my chances of being cleared to travel go down. They better hurry anyway before I get to old LOL.

Take care and enjoy our sun. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

When Mike called they weren't looking for meat cutters in Phoenix but did have a need for Meat Mgrs. Mike said he wasn't a mgr here but did have mgr experience in other jobs. She asked if he knew how to do about 5 different things (dealing with the meat dept) & he said yes....she said he sounded like he'd be a good candidate for a mgr position.....now we just have to get the gal that does the hiring to agree (and of course get ahold of her directly).

The fibro thing is definitely a pain (all the time since we moved back to Salem).....when I go to Disneyland; even with all the walking, I don't hurt like I do when home. So the warm weather does help!!

We just looked thru a bunch of Phoenix brochures we got in the mail....now I really want to go!!

I hope they don't keep pushing you down the list.....tell them it's your turn!! I sure hope things work out & you get that done in time to join us on the girls trip. I'll keep you in my prayers!!

I think Im all caught up lol. Im so sorry to hear about your dog some people are just so selfish the don't think at all about how what they're doing will affect another human being. I hope the family that purchased her are good and loving people. I am so excited for you to be in double digits! its getting closer and closer!

Me too........I hope she has lots of room to run!!

I believe when God closes one door, he opens a window......... After a painful week from losing Piper, we got the opportunity to get a 5 yr old beagle that needed a home. He is such a good dog & all 4 kids have reacted positively to him. So readers, meet Moose:

He sleeps in a kennel at night, but man oh howdy you should of heard the noises coming from that crate!!!! We decided to put the kennel in Anthony's room (as we know, Beagles tend to howl when left alone)....we thought that would help but after an hour & a half of this, we decided to move the kennel into our room. Our room is darker & Mike has more authority in his voice when telling the dog to go to sleep. It did seem to help!! We slept till shortly after 7am.....not too bad....hoping once he gets used to his new home, family & routine this will get better.

It was pretty funny after we brought him into our room. He makes snorting noises like a pig & at one point sounded like he was laughing.....it was cracking me up & I started giggling......Mike told me I wasn't helping out the situation any......lol :rotfl2:

It's amazing how a dog can lift the soul & spirits!!

Oh, I love Beagles! I had one for 14 years. They are very loyal and forgiving!
Congrads on the addition to your family!
So true about one door closing and a new one opening!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Ok "BIG" question-----Is he house trained? Wait 2 questions does he chew on wood or shoes?

I love the name -- Moose---- but funny how it fits.

Funny how legally animals are considered personal property. I think since animals have hearts and feelings they should be considered family.

Now tell us how he became part of the family.

Talk at ya later :)

Hey Laurie!

I am joining! Sorry I am so late! I hadn't realized you started another PTR until you commented on Jessica's TR yesterday. So excited for you that you are in double digits! And congrats on the new puppy. He is cute.

Going to go back and catch up now. :)

What a good Beagle dog. :) That is a very nice name to give to your new family member.

What a cute dog :cutie:
