Ok, I feel silly asking these questions, because it seems I should know, and I apologize for my stupidity in advance!!

We've been to this a few times, but never since FP+ has been rolled out. If we go to the MK around 5, will the turnstiles take our party tickets instead of our regular park tickets? And....can we make FP+ for the party night, using our MYW tickets, and not our regular ones? We are only getting enough other days to cover our trip, and not going to any other park on our party day. I want to be able to book the right fast passes when our window comes up, and then not get to the last full day of our trip and not be able to enter a park!!

1. If you enter via the turnstiles marked specifically for the party, yes.
You may enter MK as early as 4PM (sometimes 3:45PM) using only your party ticket.

2. I think that you are asking about using the PARTY tickets to make FP+ reservations
("MYW tickets" -are- "regular tickets." "MNSSHP tickets" are "Halloween Party tickets.")
And yes, you CAN make advance FP+ reservations using just your MNSSHP (party) tickets but only 3 advanced FP+ reservations, total, even if you have regular tickets -and- party tickets.
And, know that you cannot make or use FP+ reservations during the party hours at all.
If you enter MK using only your party tickets, you will only be able to use FP+ between the time you enter (any time after 4PM) and the start of the party (7PM.)

Don't feel silly; everyone asks these for their first party--well, everyone who even knows enough to ask!! LOL

Yes, starting at 4, the turnstiles will see your party ticket. And yes, you can make FP+ for 4:00-7:00 in MDE on that party ticket, without using a regular ticket that day.

Good point, Robo. And don't forget to stop just past the turnstile and get your party wristband--it shows you have a ticket.

Anything else, just ask. That's why the DIS is here :)

This is why I love the Dis...I had no idea I could make FP selections using our party ticket. We have tickets for the party on the 15th, so if I go to where I made my FP selection how do I use the ticket to make more?
This is our first party so very excited/curious to see how it works.
Thanks for the help.

You make advance FP+ reservations at MK using your party tickets on your party date the same way as you
make advance FP+ reservations with regular tickets. (But, you can only make FP+ reservations for the time between 4PM and 7PM.)

HOWEVER-
If you already have made FP+ reservations on the 15th at MK or another park using your REGULAR park tickets,
you cannot -also- make any FP+ reservations using the party tickets on the 15th.

You are limited to making only 3 advance FP+ reservations at one park per day,
regardless of how many different tickets that you own.

Couldn't the OP just have a separate MDE account for the party tickets? Then they can use other park admission earlier in the day if they want? It's a little bit of work but has good benefits.

I already linked my party tickets to my current MDE account. So I'm not going to bother so much with it. Not terribly concerned about fast passes, as we just love the atmosphere at the party. But wondered how it works! Thanks Robo, and all others, can always count on the DIS for great info!

The latest I was able to get for this year's Halloween party and last year's Christmas party was 5:30-6:30, I think the 6-7 is a rare thing!

Ok, so my next question....my halloween party tickets are linked to my MDE, but do not appear in the 'my plans' for the day section. will this pose a problem making FP's for the 4-7 window at our 60 day mark?

This shouldn't be a problem. As you can see from the screen shot from my personal MDE, the party does not show up in your plans (I added it as a "note"). Now, I have 4 day park hoppers and we will be adding an extra day so that we can go to EPCOT that morning and then hit the MK once we are done, but if you have other tickets besides the Party ticket, it seems that it will let you make FP+ reservations before 4:00PM. I have four days of tickets and a MNSSHP ticket and I've been able to make five full days of FP+ reservations.

I've also worried that if we are only doing MNSSHP on a certain day, that it would "waste" a day on our 7 day tickets also linked in MDE. Has anyone had this happen?

There were instances of this at the first parties as MagicBands rolled out, but think that got resolved. You can always enter the party with a plastic ticket instead of your band to be 100% safe.

Ugh, I just got an email alert from Disney. They changed my 6:00-7:00 fast pass on party day to 3:00 - 4:00. We're not planning to enter the park before 4 because we are only using our party ticket for that day. Now I have to go fiddle around with them and see if I can get 3:30-4:30, 4:30-5:30 and 5:30-6:30 instead.

There is a thread about the FP issue. If you didn't change you original FP they should revert back. There was a glitch in their system that cancelled ALL party night fast passes that were in the 6:30-7:00 block.

Maybe I should go read the FP+thread, but since it was mentioned, I thought maybe someone could clarify. As the OP, I will have MYW tickets on my account for the same week that we do MNSSHP (as I'm sure many others do). I have never done FP+ before. How do you book the FP on the MNSSHP ticket and not the MYW ticket? Do you choose the ticket then do FP?

I'm going to be booking FP for my group, so I want to make sure I don't mess it up when my window opens!
