I don't know if this is the best place to ask this..... if you think there is a better forum, please let me know.

We are looking at going to WDW sometime this fall, and as a family choice, have made the decision not to celebrate Halloween as a holiday (we never have). I've never been to Disney in the fall at all.... what are Disney's celebrations in regards to Halloween, and what are the dates that they run them? I'm not sure if I asked that clearly, but basically I'm asking what kind of "Halloween" things we are going to encounter and when (if any).

Thank you!!!

From what I have read, the only real Halloween things going on is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party - and that is in the evenings after the Magic Kingdom has closed to the genera public.

The MK is decorated for the party, and from what I understand, it is not decorated during the day (though I may be mistaken).

I don't think you will run into anything peculiar other than kids might be dressed up, but we see that any time of the year.

The onsite resorts also have a lot of stuff going on Oct 31st, I believe. The CMs were handing out treats all day at POR when we were there.

I think it would be very difficult to avoid any reference to Halloween on Oct 31st, but for the rest of the time, it would only be about MNSSHP at MK that you would see Halloween stuff about.

Thank you!!!

Of course, we aren't recluses on Halloween either, so it's not about avoiding each and every reference to Halloween..... we recognize that it is a holiday which many people enjoy celebrating - I was just worried about the whole park being turned into a "haunted kingdom" or something......

Thank you for your help.... it sounds as if it will work just fine.

I have been on the last 2 Halloweens, specifically to go to MNSSHP on oct. 31. I am an adult,a nd was in costume both times (mousekateer/bowler in 2002, as Mulan last year). Kids can trick or treat at DTD, and as previously mentioned, the resorts usually have something going on for the kids. If you are not interested in the holiday, I would imagine that MGM/DS and EPCOT would be the same as usual (at least for the most part) on that night.

peace~
