Halloween Horror Nights Rumors

thanks for the headsup Karin that is an interesting site! Are their predictions usually accurate?
:jester:

I don't see this ever happening. The park environment and overall infrastructure just can't handle it.

The problem with Lance of Scremscape is that he almost NEVER thinks anything through with regards to posting rumors.

1. The park walkways are too small to handle such an event. USF has a lot more walking room and on busy nights it can be absolutely *insane*.

2. The Dragons' castle... there's really very few spots they could put scareactors in there- and if they DID they'd have to make modifications that probably wouldn't let it be popen during the day.

3. Camp Jurassic... they're not gonna close the entire place during the day.

4. Neither Toon Lagoon not Seuss Landing are condusive to a HHN environment. Nevermind the POSSIBLE legalities involved if the owners of said properties didn't want the undead roaming through their areas.

5. Sindbad's stadium is smaller than Wild West, and is not built for large scale dance numbers.

6. There ISN'T A CHANCE IN HELL they'd create a pathway to SS 22 from IOA. Especially from Seuss Landing. Apparently Mr. hart doesn't realize the distance to said soundstage- nor the fact that there's a lot of other stuff they'd have to detour around.

About the only thing posted that COULD be done would be putting a magic/variety show in the Toon Amphitheatre.

Not to mention that while it might be kinda neat and a nolvelty to have scareactors in JP and the LC, it works better at USF. New York, San Francisco and Amity are built perfectly for it.

Last year the rumor was going around about expanding HHN to IOA also. I don't think they will even expand the event to include IOA.

for once i agree with Coiley.
if they did it, can you say "bad move"

After first reading that rumor and also the disclaimer that it was at best preliminary research, I was kind of interested at the prospects of an IOA HHN.
But Coiley, has some good points. Especially the one about Seuss. Mrs.Giessel(sp?) would have a fit if this would happen.
Besides, HHN is a Universal tradition now and is a great draw to the park.
It NEEDS it more than IOA which while still a relatively new park will continue to gain in popularity/attendance.
HAVE FUN

I'm with Coiley too.

Halloween Horror Nights should always be at the Studio.

Well, I agree with you on every single one of your points.. but the distance from Suess to the soundstages isnt really THAT far.. its just on the other side of the fence. Definetly no farther than the length of some of the HHN queues!

I think it might be good to have a special HHN show in the Toon Lagoon Ampetheather during the day at IOA. Then the park can do a promo like "Go to HHN next door tonight!" Plus, I can ride Jaws at night during HHN! :)

In defense of Lance, I like his web page, even if his rumors don't pan out. He also posts news, so he's not just slinging mudd up on the wall. He leaves the previous rumors up, so you can see a history of what is happening, and most of the time, he gets it right. If he posts something inaccurate, he'll take it back with a correction. The industry needs a Lance to generate buzz.
A couple years ago, this was done on a web site called Thrillride.com. Robert Cooker posted the best reviews, and they had a page up every friday with rumors, and a "whopper" of the week. It was actually funny to read the page and everyone took it with a grain of salt. Robert scaled back after the web site could not turn a profit. Now called Thrillnetwork.com, they made a rumor message board, but for the most part, it's dead, noone posts on it. The idea of sending rumors/news to 1 person by e-mail, is the best, and right now, Lance is that person.

Back to topic.
I'd like to see IOA open late during HHN. I'm a coaster fan, and riding at night is alot of fun. I was just there in December when the park was open late, and walking thru the DD queue at night and then riding in the dark adds alot to the ride. It's just a great feeling when walking thru a park at night and riding the coasters in the dark. The air is cool, the lights make everything look great, DJs playing dance music, and everyone is happy. Looking on the web site, it says 7pm close for IOA in October. That's too early. I want to hop between the parks. Go thru the HHN attractions, then take a lap around IOA to ride the coasters in the dark. At BGT for Halo-Scream, they even had their river raft ride running at night, and people we're going on it in jeans.
