Halloween Horror Nights 2010?

You can only use Express one time per house and attraction.

As Victoria mentioned, once for each house and attraction. When I had the EP four years ago, each house and attraction had individual hole punches that were used to mark the EP. Last year, they were using scanners.

Is that the official rule? I'm not trying to be argumentative - but it doesn't seem to be the case. As I stated, I was able to use the EP twice on the same house... I guess what I'm try to figure out is if I got "lucky" or if there really is no limit. I mean I don't want this to turn into a 'pool hopping'/'refill-able mug' debate. All I'm looking for is information. :goodvibes

Did you know I was able to redo many houses last year since the night I was there it rained and they couldn't scan the tickets. I redid chucky, wolfman, and dracula about 5 times each, really. :lmao:

You mean like "opps" my EP got wet... :rotfl: Seriously did they even try to scan them or just let you by?

It's only once per house/attraction...I would say you got lucky...that's certainly not the norm.

It is an official rule:
Official Site said:
Each Express Pass allows one entry to each participating Express attraction, per guest.

Thank you. The other thing I wasnt sure about is if you get a HHN pass free with the premier annual pass can you upgrade it to the FFP?
I'm not sure how that would work since the free ticket doesn't have any cash value. I doubt you could but maybe I'm wrong. You can call Guest Services and ask them directly.

There is a very simple explanation for this -- the scanners don't work. I'm sure it doesn't take long for the people holding them to realize this, but they keep on trying, bless their little hearts.

 Thank you for an honest answer.

I'm not the type of person to run around trying to go in houses as many times as possible. At the same time if there was a house that I thought was really awesome. I might wanna give it another go after we've done them all. But really - that depends all on time.

Lol, totally random. I think the answer is Pelvis O'Ghoul because the poem says something at the end about a familiar sweet scent filling the air and I think they mean candy corn, which is his favorite scent.

Thank you!

Ok, PPs a few pages back said that with EP, you could probably fit everything in 1 night - is this true for both weeknights and weekend nights? I'm a bit intimidated by the size/scale of HHN - 8 houses, 6 scare zones and 2 shows just doesn't seem doable in a 5.5 hr non-peak night. (If it takes 30 min to walk through a house and 15min for travel/lines with EP, just the houses would take 6 hrs) A time-turner would really be useful...

Due to some horrible impulse control while booking WDW F&W events, I'm constrained to only 2 days out of the 10/19-10/21 period for both day parks and HHN. Would I be able to see more of HHN doing S&S+EP 1 night (10/20), or doing 2 S&S nights (10/20, 10/21) but without EP? (trying to keep cost somewhat reasonable too)

Thanks!

You will have a hard time seeing everything even with the EP. If you're going to do S & S with Express, you will have a huge advantage over those people outside the main gates. Still...It's going to be a challenge but considering you're going on off-peak nights, you have a good chance. I never do the shows the same night as the houses...I do the houses first and then come back to do the shows. If you have the time to spend two evenings, do it. You won't have to worry about rushing through everything. You could do the first night and see what you have left to do and then decide if you want to come back. It doesn't take 30 minutes to go through the houses but it will take a while to get through the queue line. Going through the actual house will take 10 minutes or so.

I was there for the bloody mary event with EP and they did not scan it even one time.
I think that was the exception rather than the rule - every time we've used the Express line in our many trips to HHN since 2002, our EP was scanned or when the scanners weren't working, they actually used a sharpie to mark on it.

Thanks, Metro. I'll probably go with S&S+EP the first night, and then see if I need to come back the next night to finish up (without EP). Do S&S tickets usually sell out or will it pretty easy to get one the day of? When I called Universal, the cast member was really pushing the FF+EP, but that seemed like a lot to pay upfront for at most 2 nights and a total newbie. (Plus I'm trying to hedge against the what-ifs like I get freaked out at the first house, pee my pants and have to leave...)

or when the scanners weren't working, they actually used a sharpie to mark on it.

This used to be pretty common. To the point where I would print out multiple copies of my Express just in case. :rolleyes1

Another tip is to just be nice to the TM scanning it and ask that they don't. You'd be surprised...

I never woulda though of that!

On a non-peak night, how long do you guess someone would be standing in line for a house with an EP? I'm sure it varies house to house, but just a general idea would help me figure out my "gameplan"

I'm just curious because I know there have been times I've used fastpasses at Disney and still waited close to a half hour.

Also, what's the best strategy if you have an EP and doing S&S? Hit up the first couple houses and use the regular queue and save your EP in case you want to do it again later, or start using it right away?

I'd say less than 15, at least in my experiences.

Defiantly do as many houses as you can that don't have a wait (probably can get two in), this will allow you to go back and repeat this houses later on in the event with your EP. (Without having to cheat the system like others..)

WWEDUDE is correct - usually less than 15 min ... however, saying that, a couple years ago we witnessed EP lines at some houses close to 30 min (thinking they probably oversold EPs that night). We're really hoping that with all the FFP with EPs they're selling plus the regular EPs that won't be the case this year :sad2: ... it really defeats the purpose of having an EP.

As for the S&S strategy - yes, you can easily do the first few houses without the EP as it'll be still early in the evening and the wait will be minimal. Once the lines start backing up and wait times are high, you can use your EPs and then go back and do the first houses again with your EP :thumbsup2
