This will be our first trip to DL during a seasonal celebration of any kind. We're there 9/24-9/28. Is that too soon to expect Halloween goodies to be out?

If not, what kind of seasonal yummies can we expect to find around the parks?

This will be our first trip during the fall as well and I am definitely looking forward to all of the yummy seasonal goodies.

Now all we need to do is wait for Sherry E to find this thread, because I know she has sampled all of the yummy goodies in the fall and is great at describing them! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

Pics would be great, too!

I heard the call, Jernysgirl!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I didn't take any pictures of the food items. I am trying to figure out where on the DIS there are some pictures of the treats. I know I have seen them. I can usually track down buried photos on here pretty well, so I will poke around to see what I can find.

First of all, Lynzer Torte, your dates will be perfect for catching Halloween treats (of the edible kind and of the merchandise variety) and decorations . The DLR Halloweentime season begins on 9/25 this year (7 weeks away! Woo hoo!), so you are getting there just in the nick of time!! The TOTP will not be happening yet, unfortunately, but everything else will be in full Halloween swing. I might possibly be there on 9/25 or 9/26 (am trying to figure out my Halloweentime plans).

Just as far as snacks go: If I am not mistaken, I THINK that DLR begins to sell (my favorite) gingerbread men with Mickey ears cookies around Halloweentime. I don't think they wait until Christmas, but I may be wrong on that. I think someone reported seeing them for sale around Halloweentime last year. There were also big, fat pumpkin cupcakes in Marceline's in DTD. There is pumpkin fudge in all the candy stores. I saw pumpkin-shaped cookies and pumpkin-flavored cookies. I think I saw some ghost cookies too. There is pumpkin cider and pumpkin latte at some of the bakeries. Pumpkin pie is sold at some of the restaurants. Cafe Orleans will be serving Zero's Ghostly Ghoulash (in Zero's dog bowl). There are also pumpkin raisin muffins that come with a solid sugar Mickey jack-o-lantern stuck in the top, and a dollop of cream cheese.

And, plus, the decorations and the Haunted Mansion Holiday are just really, really cool, as I am sure the Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy will be too.

I knew you'd be here soon! :thumbsup2

Seriously though, all of that stuff sounds so good! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:: Only 58 days left for me!:banana::banana:

At French Market they have a yummy cheesecake topped with fruit, they put a hard sugar Jack Skellington in it, not edible really, it's made of the same stuff they use for the sail with the cookie boat. :) But the cheesecake is good...not really seasonal tho, they serve it all year, they just add the Jack for the holidays. :) The pumpkin fudge....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm but I had to share it with DBF and eat it over a couple days, it's sweet. :)

Pics would be great, too!

Enjoy...the pictures have no calories!

These are from the Main Street bakery, 2007. They are a pumpkin cupcake, cream cheese frosting...mmmmm! Be warned though...the topping in not edible. I thought it might be one of the sugar creations, it was a waxy-kinda thing. bleh!

iheartdisney, ^^^^ Are you sure that isn't the pumpkin muffin? That actually looks more like the pumpkin muffin I had (with raisins in it) - the muffin was what had the cream cheese and the solid sugar Mickey jack-o-lantern stuck in it, from what I saw. The actual pumpkin cupcakes that I saw (in Marceline's) looked a bit different than this. But maybe Blue Ribbon Bakery was selling different-looking pumpkin cupcakes than what Marceline's sold.

i got the recipe for those muffins off of here, im gonna try to make them on monday

Is there a difference between a muffin and a cupcake? Carrot cake is my favorite, and it looked like carrot cake, but was different. Whatever it was, it was really good. I bought it at the bakery on Main Street. Sorry I didn't take notes!:goodvibes

Yep. Muffins and cupcakes are different, though they look similar in shape. The muffins had raisins in them. Marceline's (which is typically a candy store rather than a bakery) had big, fat pumpkin cupcakes over in the corner of a display case, but I don't know if they will sell them again this year. I got the muffin (like the one in your photo) because I wanted the solid sugar Mickey jack-o-lantern to keep as a souvenir, and then I promptly broke off one of its ears!!:lmao: So I guess I have to get another one! Blue Ribbon Bakery is the name of the place on Main Street, though I assume the bakery in DCA probably sold all the same stuff too.

That Mickey is so cute! I definitely want one of those!

I bought a gingerbread man 2 days ago at California Adventure...don't know if he was left over from Christmas or early for this year...but he was yummy :goodvibes

Oooooooh! You mean the kind with the mouse ears? I love those - they are quite substantial and hefty cookies, aren't they? I figured they would be kind of thin and fragile, and on the short side, but they were actually much bigger and weightier than I expected. I wonder if they sell them all year? You wouldn't think those cookies were sold year round - it seems like they would be more seasonal. Maybe they just put them out really, really early for Fall!!:rotfl: Yes, they are very yummy cookies, soft & chewy!!:thumbsup2

Fall can't come quick enough for me!! Bring on the pumpkins, apples, cool weather, etc!:thumbsup2

Yes, with the chocolate mouse ears! I just love gingerbread anyway, and the chocolate really puts them over the top...I lurve them so much :cloud9:

I agree - Fall and the nice, cooler, crisp weather that comes with it cannot get here soon enough for me either!

And you reminded me, PHXscuba, about the apples. The apples are another one of the goodies to be had during the holidays. Of course, the caramel apples are sold year round in a couple of places in DLR, but the special holiday ones are extra cute. Last year, there were some adorable Mickey jack-o-lantern caramel apples at Pooh's Corner during the Halloween season, and there was another Halloween-ish one too, but I don't recall what it was off hand. So that is something else to look forward to.

I hadn't eaten anything gingerbread in at least 10 years, but I loved those cookies last year and bought two of them. I broke off an arm of one of my gingerbread mouse men and gave it to my friend to sample, and she ended up back at Marceline's on our last day, buying 8 of the cookies to bring home to her family! They are addictive and filling - even if you don't think you like gingerbread that much, you will probably like these cookies!

Mmm....everything sounds (and looks!) so good!

Add me to the fall lovers club- it's my favorite time of the year!

Anyone have more pics to add?

Okay, so we have seen the wonderful picture of the pumpkin muffin with the solid sugar Mickey jack-o-lantern in the top, courtesy of iheartdisney. I found some more photos of Halloween cookies, cupcakes and caramel apples, thanks to some of our other DIS-ers.
