Halloween Garbage (Inspired by lg3's thread)

the other day i saw a big bag of ATOMIC WARHEADS (individual wrapped)-they look like standard hard candy but when you get just below the surface they are filled with sour bicarbonate powder and you end up frothing like a rabid dog. it would'nt be bad if they marked the indivdual peices but only the bag indicated what they were-going to have to keep an eye out for these to pull and toss.

.

Those are my favorite hard candy!! I LOVE The atomic warheads! My godson adn I used ot buy bags in every flavor they made!

Hey EthansMom, I like the peanut butter candy in the black and orange wrappers, too. I'm the only one in my family who eats it so I always get all of it.

As far as what we throw away, just the fruit, homemade stuff, and anything that looks suspicious (such as rewrapped items, torn wrappings, etc.). We take the jaw-breakers and gum out and eat them ourselves. DS is allowed to have anything else. He also loves getting the small toys, rings, and pencils. He would love to have tattoos, so I think that would be a good idea for Halloween.

We just toss anything that is open or homemade. We are all candy freaks so we like pretty much everything. We just brush our teeth as needed. 3 of us still have no cavities and one of us is over 30 :rotfl: .

I have a friend that lets her kids go trick or treating and then tosses EVERYTHING they bring home because they are not allowed to eat candy :confused3 .

I have a friend who does something similar to that. She has her kids pick out 7 pieces of candy and then they can eat one piece a day for a week. All the rest she throws away. WTH is the point of that?? And the killer is her kids are all chubby and mine(who get halloween candy when they ask for it which lasts for about two weeks after halloween) are thin!

I am surprised people throw out so much right away. By a few weeks after Halloween, we have stuff ready for the trash, but unless it looks spoiled or is unwrapped I don't care what candy the kids keep.

Smarties? SMARTIES?! How can anyone NOT like smarties? That seems blasphemous to me. They beat the (smartie) pants off m&m's! :rotfl2:

In the US, Smarties are small candies sort of like sweet tarts but not sour - a bunch of them in a little roll with twisty ends.

I love Canadian Smarties - the plain chocolate ones, not the ones that have an orange flavoring added. We used to buy bunches of them whenever we are in Canada since we can't eat m&m's due to peanut allergies. We haven't been to Canada in ages so it's been a long time since I've had them! Many Canadian candies are different than US - and often people with peanut allergies mail order their candy from Canada.

Oops. I just saw that someone else already pointed out that Canadian Smarties are something different.
