We're going to Florida on 29 Oct 2004, and we're all wondering what is the best park to visit for Halloween? In our party are 3 adults and 2 kids - 2 & 5. I've read for the Mickey not so scary party you need to book tickets - when and where would I get those? I know Halloween is a big deal in the States, and wondered if there is anything else going on around that time at the parks - US, IOA etc? Thanks!

Hello there, Shellbe:D I think you'll get loads of positive replies about Halloween in the US. There are quite a few of us who go in October for a number of reasons, all the Halloween stuff being one of them:D

Last year we went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) - enjoyed it so much we're back again this year. It's great for the whole family, especially for your little ones.

You can book online at Disney.com or call them in the US. We booked online and the tickets arrived about 10 days later. It's a separately ticketed event, so if you visit another Disney park that day, you have to have these MNSSHP tickets to gain entry to Magic Kingdom after 7pm. On the website they give you the list of dates when these evenings are held.

It's great fun - everyone gets a bright orange candy bag and dotted throughout Magic Kingdom are CMs who dish out tonnes of candy all night. Between the three of us we were still munching on our goodies when we got home;).

We've not been to Universal, but I know there are a number of DISers out there who love their Halloween shows - but these are a little more scary than Disneys.

Busch Gardens is also joining in the fun this year too.

Hi

I have done MNSSHP at WDW and HHN (Halloween Horror Night) at Universal.

Mickey's is wonderful - people dress up in nice costumes ;) (mickey, pooh and other things) as Annie said there is trick or treating throughout the park. There is a special parade for Halloween - which starts off with the headless horseman! and special fireworks too!! instead of Tink flying from the castle it is a witch :) I love this night and this will be are 3rd time :)

Halloween Horror Nights is very different. IOA is transformed in to a spooky place. There are Haunted houses that you can go in - I found these very scary! There is a special Bill and Ted's show which is brilliant. There is no dressing up here though!!

I hope this helps :)

hi ya ,me and 12 more family members are going 27thoct 2004,we are gonna go to the halloween nights also universal do a good halloween party apparently, not long to go now

We love Haloween but have not done the Disney evening which sounds great - i would strongly advice AGAINST you taking your children to the Universal Hal Horror night - we love it but it scares the pants off us, it is quite extreme and intense and some of the haunted houses are based on famous horror movies or pitch black, we haven't got any children but i wouldn't even consider taking my neice who is 11 and she is quite a tom boy!

We are sorry not to be able to go this october due to work committments so Aug is a newy for us. We were going to give orlando a miss next year but we have decided just to go for a week in oct 04, just for haloween!!!

Enjoy it!
