pansmermaidzlagoon OK , guys, gonna ask the pros here - am I looking at this right, is Halloween on Pirate night - both on Tuesday?? Thank you in advance.

pans, I'm betting that they have some if not all of the Halloween events on Monday. People will be off the ship on Tuesday visiting St.Maarten, we don't sail away till 7p.m., so not much time for t-or-t'ing and costume contest. In the past they have had a pirate themed buffet deck party after our day at St.Maarten, party starting around 10ish.

thank you! I am trying to plan - don't want to bring 2 sets of costumes if we aren't going to need both. (and I REALLY want to put all my time and money into Pirate costumes for myself and DH - as for DD she will have pirate and princess stuff either way!).

Hi everyone! Last night we took the boys to see the Disney Live Mickey's Magic Show. It was great! Since it was a magic show even Timmy liked it. Jacob was so excited to see Mickey. Just six months until he can see him again.

We have another busy weekend planned. Two baseball parades. Timmy has five baseball games this weekend. We alaso have a birthday party. We are going to be busy!

greetings folks....

I just had a round of "industrial-strength" stomach flu. Yesterday I was completely wiped out. Haven't had it so rough since the last time I got sick with stomach flu about 15 years ago (bad McDonalds' french fries by logical deduction of who got sick in our car and who did not).

At any rate, yesterday was pretty rough - as I was looking after the Kalea - and while doing so I involuntarily fell asleep a couple of times! Once I awoke after 20 minutes to her coming up to me carrying chicken noodle soup (cold) for me! She's such a sweet heart (I gave it to her) and was totally amazed at what she did - I was also glad she was alive too! Then later yesterday when I was mostly flat on my back she brought me another serving of porridge with tofu. How does a 2.5 year old do it? In one case the porridge was already in a bowl made for her and sitting on the edge of the range - and in the case of the chicken noodle soup I am fairly certain she scooped it out into a bowl and carried it over for me - a considerable distance too.

At any rate, I feel as if I have been all beat up (physically) or mugged like the snow-man and snow-woman above. Still feverish but otherwise I'm on the mend. This was far worse then being drunk! I had forgotten how bad getting the stomach flu really could be. Sorry if I've been too descriptive - I was specificly avoiding graphic descriptions.

At the moment, I can't envision doing anything tomorrow except recover so it looks like a mild weekend for my family. Maybe Sunday we'll venture out and do something if I'm well enough. Oh yeah... Alicia is sick too but only with a light fever... enough to make her edgy somewhat. Fortunately, the kids are doing well.

It looks like everyone else is set with a normal weekend!

We saw it at the Hippodrome theater in Baltimore. They usually have the broadway shows there. Disney Live is something new. When we purchased tickets they were only touring in a few cities. It is produced by the company that does Disney on Ice. It was really fun!

So aside from that - how are the weekend plans going? I'm thinking about about a new HD DVD player I saw recently that my spouse is discouraging me from getting. The things will drop in price faster then a hot potato cools in a fridge. But that won't change that I want one! Same problem with every dinner on the Magic! Well... actually - it's the same problem I have with almost every buffet. Almost.

... come October you can judge for yourself whether DCL has maintained or exceeded their usual standards for shrimp appetizer sizes. So - it seems as if we had a few folks vote on the poll but decline to step forward for now. I guess it's no big deal... I just read a thread where one spouse posted a thread to taunt his spouse to post because his spouse had been a perpetual lurker for months on end. Active on the board as an observer but not having posted. So - the thread was supported by several pages of welcomes and taunts - and she finally posted while admitting that they were about to sail in 8 days! I thought that was pretty charming. My spouse ocassionally looks into the DIS but not as much as me. Of course, I often lurk in the late hours or weekends when I get a little free time.

At any rate... anyone looking on from the internet ether who has not stepped forward is invited to step forward to introduce yourselves! I know it's a bit early before the October sailing - but that's all the more reason to come on out and say 'ello!

I do actually read all of the postings on this thread but usually am too tired to post.......life is full of good things right now that keep us way overworked! For good reasons though......I am not complaining. We also have a first communion in 2 weeks so that is a lot of planning.

I have looked a little for costumes but have not bought anything yet for the cruise. The only one who will dress up is my 7 year old, and he might not want to if the other kids aren't. I still want him to bring a Halloween costume so I am going to work on the Pirate idea with him.........you know, make him think it is HIS idea.

Well it sure does sound like you are busy with the warmer weather her finally who is not busy...It is hard to be inside when it is so nice outside...The only reason why I would want summer to end is so we can go on the cruise.....

We might be in the port area to catch a glimpse of either the Wonder or Magic and that will be all the Disney we get this trip.

I still have one more year of classes for my Special Ed certificate so I have not filled anyone in about this cruise at work or school. I have a teaching experience scheduled right at the time of the cruise too! UGH.......it will work itself out. I just stay quiet and act like I don't know that I need to be here that week.

One more general quetion was reading my new pass porter noticed it said that ordering room service and then taking the food off the boat at a port was a no no...I have read here on the boards and heard that people do this anyone done it and was wondering if it is ok to do....?????

Hey Kristen.....we are still here. Cruise is still 4 weeks away but have lots to do to get ready. DS has decided to grow again so nothing is fitting him and DD always thinks she needs clothes. DD still has gymnastics everyday for 4 hours so that is also taking up lots of time. It looks as though we are not the only busy people though!

I took off last year "unpaid" and will probably do the same this year. I was a social worker so now I am changing careers. I work now with "underperforming" freshman as an educational aide. I think to be honest, I am so overqualified that they would rather have me take off a week than hire someone else. (and I don't lack self-confidence either )

You guys are going to the "not so scary"......how fun we did that a few years back and had a ball. We spent several days at WDW before our first cruise....we have never been back. However we have cruised several times since then. DCL has won us over the parks for certain!

You all will not eat for weeks when you get home if you are doing a dining plan at WDW and then a cruise! I LOVE it.

Is anyone else going to the Halloween Party? We really enjoyed that. We thought about it this time, but the funds and the extra time are just not there.
